Great review. Awesome to see some custom ACE labels. The issue for other grading companies that aren't PSA is always going to be resale value. So if companies like ACE can maximise the other areas such as turnaround time, slab quality and transparency they will be on the right tracks. ACE seems like a great option for PC cards. It all depends what you are looking to do with the card. If it is for your PC then most uk companies will be fine but of you are looking to sell the card in the future then there is only really one company to go for. Not a fan of the idea but it is what it is. Personally with my mild OCD the labels have to all be the same but the colours are fun and thats what its about.
I hate how PSA has the market cornered. I believe that any graded card should come with a very quick summary of the card's condition. I know some companies offer that, but do not have the same reputation as PSA. Fantastic video BTW! 👏
I'm very open to trying new grading companies other than the big leaders but what prevents me from doing so is the likelihood that any of these companies will continue to survive in the longer term is very low. I fear that my collection would have no value if it was graded by a company that ceases to exist. If BGS were to go out of business, do the black labels really have any value without a company and pop report behind it? Would love others thoughts on this.
A PSA 10 doesnt need perfect centering. A 10 is not necessarily a perfect card, not even at BGS. Only if its Black labeled. PSA Can give a 10 if the centering is 60/40. Im sure you Can find loads of 10s with not perfect centering. But i agree, its maybe more of than 60/40, but its difficult to see on video.
@@BerntWilley They know how to make $ for sure. Imo a 10 should be the perfect card (Black label) and then they should go 9.5 and 9s, but then they cant upcharge people. All this upcharging, like they use more time on a 1$ card than a 10000$ really rubs me the wrong way. I cant stand it.
That depends. MGC slab is similar to PSA. In fact, I think the MGC slab is possibly a little better. I like the Gold stamp for the grade 10s with MGC, although this doesn't always add value. Some evidence from eBay sales suggests top MGC grades can actually add some value. Also, if MGC's plans for a pop report do in fact come to fruition then that could potentially add value. Personally, I would say the same as what many say about PSA..and that is that quality control in grading could be improved upon. Customer service tends to be better than good. In terms of company longevity though, no UK grading companies compare to PSA. For the UK grading companies time will tell!
Colours and fonts look childish and confusing to understand for people new to the brand. Arrogant to try and take away the attention from the cards. What makes a good grading company isnt the style of a label but the consistency, recognition, and integrity of the grading. Time will tell if they grow but i dont have much confidence.
No one in the US ever mentioned ACE. I don't think they would know what to do if they came across a slab. They do look good though.
I think they look bloody sick expanding upon the design of the card is an awesome idea

I like the label but the font is a little too unserious for something that is meant to be very valuable. Works for Pokemon maybe not for sport
Some of them shouldn't be 10s. The first one looks a bit off center. Probably closer to a 9 if you ask me. But I don't know what is a 10 to ACE

You no longer need 4 sharp corners to get a PSA 10. Even with 4 blunt corners, they'll give you a PSA 10 and upcharge you $300@@Harrycardcollector
