Congratulations! Welcome to Malaysia!
very helpful thank u Dan
Hello Dani. Thank you for this video!! I have a question... In your case, if you stay in Malaysia for 2 years, with this visa. How long do you have to wait until a new application for the same visa?
Hi! You’re welcome :)
Tbh, nobody yet knows as this visa was introduced less than 2 years ago :) but i think that you could just reapply normally so that would be a standard process
💯💥💣💪✊
Thank you for the video, Dan. Do you know if the education certificate is important? I'm a self-taught developer and I'm good at my job. But dropped college so I have only high school degree.
Thank you!
Not sure if that’s required or not. But it’s good to upload any kind of certificates that you might have (I’ve uploaded mine from Coursera, I’m also self-taught).
@@MINUTESOFFIRE Aha thank you for the info!
Hi there ! Thanks for this great video !
What about the document translation? Can we do it at a official translator ?
Thanks !!!
Hey, thanks! Yes, you should do an official translation to English
Thanks million!
Hello, they require a cv.
What exactly do they need?
Hi Dan, thank you for the video, very useful and answer a few questions I had. I just wanted to ask you if you know whether once you get the visa you have to stay in the country a minimum of 182 days (6months +1 day) or there is not restriction on this? Also is it true the the foreign income is not taxed in malaysia? Thank you in advance.
Hi! Once you get the visa sticker in your passport - you can travel in and out of country as much as you want.
Foreign income is not taxable.
Thanks for your prompt answer Dan, really appreciated. That is a real great benefit tbh, my dream is to get that visa and travel around Asia for a few months, if they give you this freedom is awesome.
Hello. I need your help in applying for it, currently I am in Malaysia, can connect with you for the process guide please?
Hello, Bilawal. You can message me on Instagram @danilafire
Hi, Great content few queries
Q1: What about taxation for nomads?
Q2: What about Income Tax and Do nomads needed SG- which regulated body provides and how to get that as nomad?
Q3: What about Security Bond? Do we need to create from our origin country and agains MDEC or We need to provide them on arrival?
@danilafire it's been 6 months since this comment, surely you are considering your taxes by now. Can you please get back to us? I'm reading that foreign digital nomads are responsible for income tax after 60 days in the country.
Hi! Sorry for missing this comment. I do have answers now since I actually cancelled my Digital Nomad and got it approved again.
So, as for me, since I am paying my taxes in my home country and my income comes from a company outside of Malaysia - I do not have to pay taxes in Malaysia. I think it depends on a case basis, best if you check FAQ at LHDN website, it’s pretty extensive.
@@MINUTESOFFIREthank you for replying! The FAQ and various other sources say that if you’re in the country over 180 days that you’re a tax resident. Well are you enjoying the experience? And how long were you granted for, 12 months? Thanks again 😊
Hi Dan! Thanks a lot of a great video!😁
I have a couple of questions...(sorry if I missed that)
So as a tourist I'm allowed to stay in Malaysia for 30 days without a visa, but I'm coming there for 6 weeks to work remotely.
Is that correct that I basically get that nomad visa online via their website? Once I get their approval via email I can go there and start working?
From what I understood I need to get a sticker stamped in the passport only if I'm gonna travel somewhere else outside of Malaysia, correct?
Thanks a lot man!
Hi! Here's the thing: the approval for the digital nomad visa takes around 3 months (even though they say 6-8 weeks on their website). If you're coming as a tourist, you'll have to go out of the country in order to enter again on a special visa which you will then convert into a sticker. Digital Nomad visa is not an online visa and after you get approval you have to get a sticker in your passport. Hope this helps.
@@MINUTESOFFIRE I see! Thanks for the reply🙂When can I get that sicker then? At the embassy of Malaysia in my country or in Malaysia?
You will get the sticker at MDEC inside Malaysia.
Hoping to apply, working for my UK company as a remote worker. Feel the info is really unclear. Will I get taxed twice? Help massively appreciated!
Hi! You can check out their FAQ. If you stay in Malaysia more than 60 days you’ll have to pay tax. Info can be found here: mdec.my/static/pdf/derantau/DE%20Rantau%20Pass%20FAQ-Foreign.pdf
Cheerz man... do you know of any options after the 24 months digi nomad visa runs out?
Hi! Tbh, MDEC are not sure what happens after 24 months as this visa is quite new. However, I think that you should be able to start a new application and get the new visa.
@@MINUTESOFFIRE
Okay - we'll see how it goes then!
Thanks for the reply, and safe and happy travels ;o,
what happens when the 12 months run out, do I have to apply again?
After 12 months you apply for you visa renewal which gives you another 12 months in Malaysia.
Hi did Agent office apply the visa for you or you submit your application by yourself though the website
Hi! No, i submitted all the documents myself.
@@MINUTESOFFIRE thanks bro
what if i am self employed, a run an online business - content creation and digital marketing?
Hi! In order to be eligible you have to be either a full time remote employee or have an ongoing contract that you’re working on.
so there is no chance for content creators??@@MINUTESOFFIRE
how much tax do you need to pay there ?
Hi! Depends on your country's taxation agreement in Malaysia. Better if you check with your tax board and Malaysian tax board.
Too complicated and intrusive on personal information...
Check out Cambodian yearly visa.
Hi! Could you share a link, what kind of visa are you talking about?
do they consider RUclips content creators as digital nomade?
Not sure, I think it’s better to email them directly regarding this.
Does Malaysia's Digital Nomad visa offer temporary Residence or something similar like that?
You are allowed to live in Malaysia for 1 year while you have the visa
@@MINUTESOFFIRE what about temporary Residency? Most counties issue a foreigner ID Card as a temporary Residence.
No, you don’t get this on this visa
@@MINUTESOFFIRE ok , thanks
@@MINUTESOFFIRE can i ask if we get approval so what are the next steps after arrival in Malaysia? I mean they will also issue pass sticker on passport kr residency permit or ID After arrival in Malaysia?
Did they contact your employer by email?
Yes, they dropped an email to my employer asking for confirmation of my employment.
@@MINUTESOFFIRE Thanks! Was hoping I wouldn’t have to get my employer involved, but it is what it is .
