I know it might not be your kind of content but during the weeks with no UFC card's maybe you could make videos talking about fights you want to see in 2025 or who you think will be champions at the end of the year?
We are going to do the champions video! It will be a live stream first week of January. Did one last year as well and we are going over our results Wednesday of next week. 👊
I'm thinking about putting a car on Covington +13.5 points at -135. Colby isn't chinny and is more likely to win rounds 4 and 5. Covington didn't give Masvidal the chance to strike early and I doubt he'll stand much with Buckley.
I picked a +300 underdog…. And Grant is now the favorite. All of those you listed are live though. Then again, could end up being another 2024 value loser bet. Aljo and Volkov were those for me last week.
I’ve had the same NYR for the passed 20 years, only did it once for 4 months in 2020: Quit smoking 😞 So maybe I’ll go with something more achievable: not need 138 to remind me twice before I hit the like button 👍
Both of those are excellent choices!! Honestly with creators I generally enjoy, I just like the video as soon as I pull it up 😂 I can always unlike if they make me, but I haven’t had that problem yet. As for quitting smoking…. You really should follow through with it this time! You can even start by saying “Okay I can at least make it until 138’s next video…” then after the video you can make the new goal of making it to the next one!
I usually hit the like as soon as it loads, but I guess I forget sometimes so the reminders are good! I really gotta figure the smoking out... been a rough couple years with an unsuccessful surgery that left me so inactive, I just kept smoking more 😥
@pinkfreud13 can’t imagine smoking helps that recovery. Have you tried flavored toothpicks? Sounds weird but they give you that mouth stimulation and are cheaper than cigs.
@@pinkfreud13 good luck man! My parents and most of my grand parents (and me actually, but very briefly), all smoked and its fucking HARD to quit, but they all did, and I got faith in you to make it happen too!! If you need some community and accountability to keep you on track I'm definitely willing to keep checking in with you throughout the year, and Im sure 138 is too! Just lmk! Hope you have a great year!
@@138MMA I've found the only thing that works is mental fortitude, can't trick yourself into not wanting it. I know smokers that have quit for 20 years and still get cravings... the way they look at you when you're smoking is not encouraging 😢
Colby is gonna take Buckley down and finish him. Colby finishes Buckley in round 3. Buckley has been fighting bums. Colby has fought top 10 in the last 7 years!
If we get a version of Colby that attacks the wrestling and uses that classic Covington pressure, then yes, he will absolutely win. If he is the version we saw in his last fight… won’t be a good out.
@138MMA Wednesdays cool, remind me if I forget! Don't have a twitter, believe it or not, although I should probably make one for the production business tbh
How do you think the neck surgery will affect Grant in the fight? Do you think he’ll come out timid/grapple a little more out of fear of getting hit & reaggravating an injury?
Also what are your thoughts on Hooper’s arm bar, I never really see people trap the arm like Hooper did, they usually just bridge the hips & hold the body down with the legs, but Hooper appeared to have almost like a body lock on Guida’s arm
I think the neck surgery will make him less likely to grapple. Way more neck injuries from grappling for sure. I think he goes out there looking to strike. As for Chase, that was top tier! Trapping the arm like that prevented clay from rolling out. Eliminates things like the hitchhiker escape.
It’s a knee jerk response from people and I understand why, but I disagree with the masses. He performed about as well as I imagined outside of the RNC close call. Garry is a tough out for anyone and he did what he needed to do. Nobody else has ever beaten Garry.
I appreciate you tuning in! One of my favorite things about this RUclips experience has been connecting with people from all over the world. As for Colby… yeah I was there with ya 😅 live and learn I suppose.
I don't understand why people are so dismissive about breaking a foot. Ofc you won't be peak fighting with one. Also, thank you for the breakdowns of the breakdowns. 😊
Sure you won’t be at your peak but if you’re not going to try to win, throw in the towel. He didn’t try to win until the 5th. It’s also not a good sign considering how he performed with a broken jaw against Usman. I’d argue a broken jaw is far more detrimental in an mma fight. That said… maybe it was just the foot and Colby puts on a clinic.
@@138MMA Yeah, I was thinking this afterwards that was the only negative, that he didn't try to go for broke. Pain is made differently and also motor functioning could easily play a part in a foot break.
It didn’t appear to be broken to a point he couldn’t use it considering he stood there on it for the rest of the fight. Makes sense to me to take the opponent down and not have to be on the foot anymore 🤷♂️ Would have to drive off the other foot but not that crazy to think. Idk I feel like the foot was just a small part of that performance.
Oh you got this one!! Don’t know what your skillset is but I know from a career change this year of my own that opportunity is out there and you can absolutely snatch it up if you’ve got your mind in the right place.
😂 as long as he doesn’t skip 3/4ths of a card again I will refrain from any Effie slander. It really hurts me to do it too… He’s genuinely one of my favorites on RUclips
colby can only work his takedowns against the cage and bucks wrestling defense against the cage is insanely good. very underrated, this is the worst matchup possible for colby. buckley is the best fighter in the world imo
Eh, what was this fight from Tavares, what was his game plan since he showed no rush, no combos and mostly single strikes ... it was obvious after R1 that Grant spam much more kicks and will win. If Tavares team made analysis before fight, they should know that British is a good cardio fighter and may fight +/- like this all three rounds ... Such a disappointment.
Seems to me like he went in there thinking he could land that counter left cross he hit in the 2nd but was banking on that being all he needed. Clearly it wasn’t.
Tavares due to age? Smith, osp, meerchart, tate, hermanson, Araujo, barcelos, aldo, Charles johnson, green, pantoja all won against much younger opponents and I bet them all I love old dogs
That’s great, congrats. This is a very competitive matchup from what I can tell. In a fight that close, I’ll take the younger guy not coming off a neck surgery.
@138MMA funny enough that's why I stayed away from betting yan his last fight he has a torn acl but look how that turned out and aspinal first fight after his acl surgery
@daniellebrooks7510 ACL and neck are very different. Learned my lesson after picking Albazi and he came out looking WAY worse than before. Not physically, but in the fight he did. Albazi isn’t nearing 40 either.
@@138MMA albazi was never beating moreno neck surgery or not and people are so fixated on age it's about skill I hit 93 underdogs this year and the majority I'd say we're the older fighter in the matchup I love getting fighters ppl say are old washed then watch them win luque last week just an example
I REALLY like Miles Johns here. His fights are always closer than they should be, and I do think Lima is good, but I just think Johns is the better fighter tbh, especially in the striking. Lima was competitive, but he lost the first two rds of the Naimov fight pretty soundly imo, and easily couldve been on his way to losing the third as well until he got that choke. I think Johns has better striking, conparable, if not better, wrestling and more high level experience than Naimov🤷♂️💯
Comparing Lima’s debut is a bit tricky because he was fighting at FW against a FW. He’s a BW. He took the fight on 5 days notice and still got the finish over a bigger guy. John’s is more skilled than Naimov for sure, but Lima will look better in this fight than his last.
@138MMA thats actually another reason I am concerned about Lima. I know Johns is historically a bantamweight, but he is the bigger fighter, and this fight is at fw again, is it not? It was stressed A LOT during his debut that Lima was NOT a fw and would not be staying at that weight class, so why is he not moving down for his second fight? Just seems like a bit of a red flag to me, and it also seems like this is a great intro fight at fw for Johns, if hes looking to move up permanently
Thanks for all the analysis you do give us. More wins for us next year. Happy New Year
