    It is possible to get the strip all the way to the ends (or closer, anyway) of the profile under the cupboards, but it's fiddly. Rather than having the cable attached to the end (with that massive heatshrink tail), you can run it down the profile and solder on to the strip at the mid-point. Obviously it needs the sheath off and some care around the entry, which is why it's a pain. Not a big issue when you can't see the profile directly.
    Big run at the top looks good - actually better not going to the ends there IMO, I don't think it'd look as nice with a strong reflection off the painted wall.

    • @Candisa
      @Candisa 3 года назад +7

      The LED-tape will probably work for a long time, but I wonder how that app colour control will age. I suspect people will have a semi-functional old phone or tablet laying around just to control those LEDs because the app hasn't worked on newer phones for years anymore. Maybe a 2.4GHz accespoint as well since Wifi technology will probably move on beyond that as well, if we'll even still have Wifi and home internet connections now that 5G supports speeds faster than most people have at home.
      Stupidest thing I ever encountered were unswitched light sockets that were intended to use with remote controlled CFL lamps. Those lamps cost a fortune while burning out in a matter of months, got out of sync constantly, randomly switched on or off when a kid was playing with an RC toy nearby, and became obsolete just a few years later. Of course this system was used in multiple rooms all on 1 mixed circuit shared with bedroom wall sockets.

    That RGB led tape should of been stuck to the angle bead and gone all the way to the end with no gap .

      I agree - just that bit further from the wall would have reduced the hot spot at the bottom of the stonework. That LED strip can be extended if you're handy with a soldering iron, but having to buy another 5 metres just to use such a short piece is admittedly a pain.
