Oolacile is such a solid guy man, who also happens to run probably my favorite electronic label atm. Clearly has tons of passion for what he does and I respect the hell out of it

man Oolacile seems like a really fucking cool dude...till this podcast I only knew of him by studying a huge batch of his very early demo/practice/remake tunes that were in a big reference track library my friend hooked me up with. Was impressed with his production chops/growth over those tunes back then..so its great to hear the ongoing success it seems to have led to

I think FL is not as good for engineering sounds as Ableton is, however people often forget Patcher when using FL or don't realize FL has patcher. One thing about FL I like is that it feels like a canvas whereas Ableton feels more rigid. For example in FL you can move automations around and none of the tracks are linked to the mixer so you can just throw things everywhere which people might understandably hate, but it is a really cool workflow as well cause you don't have to make new tracks, or be forced to somewhat organize what your doing as you go so everything has it's own place from the getgo, you just keep throwing a bunch of samples and recordings in like ingredients for a soup which allows you to get ideas and combos down fast, then you get something you like fast, but then you sacrifice this initial speedy workflow with having to route what you made to individual mixer tracks. It's not really bad when you get used to it. Just different, it's like throwing a bunch of seeds everywhere and then seeing which ones you want to grow and spending time on them, then just delete all the other ideas you threw out

Context to content cost: We have done content for all the biggest events in our country from sold out stadiums to world tours. The cost of the content is really not that much. I mean 50k is a lot for content and 100k is super rare even for the biggest 2.5h shows. Sure in US everything is more bigger and more expensive, but i know that Beyonce tour visuals were done in europe as my friend was one of the content designers.

hey man you talked about sampling sources. if you don't already know. there is a vst and standalone plugin called rolling sampler. it basically records retrospectively to your ram for up to 10 minutes and it lets you pull out the piece of audio you want and directly drag and drop it to your DAW while it is getting saved on a folder you define. the standalone version is perfect with the radiooooo website or other internet sampling sources. i love to mess with things in resonic pro and then pull out the resampled stuff i liked the most from rolling sampler to process it further in the DAW.
