To my knowledge, Master Carlos Machado was the 1st major figure to bring jiu jitsu to Texas, with the help of his student, Chuck Norris, back in 1995. Since then, he has helped spread jiu jitsu across the state and also influenced many other legends of the Texas bjj scene to move to Texas. Being from Texas, and practicing jiu jitsu, I am very grateful to Master Carlos and all other OGs that decided to bring jiu jitsu to TX. Huge congrats to Master Carlos on this epic milestone!!🙌🏼🙏🏻👊🏼
I dont understand the comments about him being promoted by a lower belt. This guy is pure class and deserves what he has earned. Anyone saying different is dumb.
Congratulations! I received my Blue Belt from you in 2002 at Solis Marital Arts Academy in Humble TX. That was one of my most proudest moments in my life. It was a huge accomplishment and honor to receive it from you. You changed my life. THANK YOU.
Professor Carlos. I only had the honour of training with you perhaps 8 to 10 times at the small Redondo Beach school near Lucky's, before Texas grabbed you. Texas's gain! Lucky is a good word. I was so blessed to walk past and see you there. Those few times with you had a big influence on my training ever since. You said you believe we choose our family, from wherever we came from. SO true. I think also small moments of influence at the right time and the right place have an impact that changes lives. And you have done that, not just with me, but with thousands. Above all, it is your humility, your love and your sense of family that touches everyone. Osu.
Amazing achievement Master Machado. It has been an honor and life changer to have learned from you, know you and call you brother these last 6 years. Excited to see what the Lord has purposed for you come to full blossom. God bless you.
I hope I’m lucky enough one day to take lesson from Master Carlos. I trained with one of his black belt student here in Nor Cal. He’s one of the most technical person I’ve ever roll with. He killed me every time but will teach what I did wrong later. Just awesome
Congratulations Carlos Machado! You are a unique person and God has destined you to do what you do best. Keep up this very important work and our children, Portia and Seth, look forward to earning their black belts in the future.
Master Machado is coming to my class for a seminar today I just started my journey a couple weeks ago and seeing this is awesome...pumped to get a chance to meet you!
I remember training under Mr. Machado in the back room on the sets where they shot Walker Texas Ranger. I spoke with Mr. Machado on the phone before he moved to Texas, looking for videos on Machado Jiu Jitsu. Mr. Machado spoke with me on the phone for what felt like an hour. I would drive all the way from Waco to train once a month! Awesome teacher.
@@NineBreaker87 It's a good question. I'm guessing that there being no remaining red belts in the Machado lineage, coral belts are awarded by consensus/committee. Not good management succession planning tbh.
Francisco Mansur (red belt under Helio) was supposed to come and award him his red/white belt but he got sick with covid in Brazil. John Machado was there to witness or certify the ceremony on behalf of Mansur.
he was promoted by francisco mansur,a helio red belt. Its irrelevant anyway, grades after black mean nothing other than longevity in the art, many dont follow any criteria for time in grade.
Grandmaster Francisco Mansur is a 9th degree Red Belt who awarded this belt to me. He was supposed to be there in person; unfortunately, he became hospitalized because of COVID-19 in Brazil and was unable to attend. With his blessing, I am had my family and first Black Belts tie it on me! Thank you for watching!
@@CarlosMachadoBJJ Oh no, I hope he has recovered. Nice way to put a positive spin on bad news, though. Congratulations, Master Carlos, and thanks for the response!
Through my association and in accordance with what my Uncle Grandmaster Carlos Gracie wanted, I tie the belt differently than how the other side of the my family tie their belts! Either way, it just keeps your pants up, you have to do the rest!

His brother merely "presented" it to him. He met the IBJJF requirements for his new grade and rank was granted by IBJJF(Carlos Gracie Jr)

De que país es
So how does any Machado get a red belt if there's only coral belts left in their lineage? Serious question. In the Gracie lineage, Rorion remains.
I dont understand how he got promoted by a lesser belt here. His own aAssociation voting that he is the highest rank in? Just wondering

Congratulations from Luda's daddy in Korea
Thank you all the way over there!
3:08 a mask! oh how nice
What is the red and white coral belt?
It’s one away from the highest belt you can get which is red
How does he promote himself to this belt wo red belt giving him the belt?
IBJJF tracks it, and your promotion to coral and red belts are dependent upon how many black belts you’ve made and competitions your school has won
Hello Lovelife, please read the description and thank you for asking the question!
ossssssa
Ossss!
Wow alot of black belt this place is more dangerous than hell
are these the guys who sold Ashton a brown belt?
Ashton is under Rigan Machado and he’s been at it for quite some time now. Rigan doesn’t sell belts.
@@MGREENMACH Ok. He just gives them to certain celebrities WAY too early to make them feel good.
@@yurrintinckelsonn812 I may help you get in touch with Ashton and maybe y’all can roll.
Hello! Are you referring to Ashton Kutcher?
1 more away from 9th degree
So is this basically a self promotion since he is not being promoted by anyone higher?
After black belt it’s really just a symbolic thing. Here you go, you’re getting old, you’ve done a shit ton of Jiu Jitsu lol.
Please read the description my friend! I am still a student for life!

Who granted this belt? There is no red belt or red/white belt. How can a 7th degree award an 8th degree?
