Which I was disappointed because I prefer Miao Jiang CN VA for Venti! Not saying Erika is bad but I was stoked when I was told Venti sings and it only in the English dub

WE FINALLY GOT A SCENE OF VENTI SINGING, I AM SO HAPPY!!! this was one of the best events that i ever played in Genshin! Erika did an amazing job!
Yeah! I was so thrilled to hear Venti sing in the game! ^_^ I started tearing up at hearing him singing! XD
I was fully expecting him to just recite it like the first time he shared this poem, so when i realized he was singing, my jaw dropped. I love it when VAs have their characters actually sing (like Barbara or thr Traveller humming Ayaka’s song) so I was absolutely blown away and very, very pleasantly surprised to hear this. I really enjoyed the Weinlesefest, especially as my first temporary Genshin event since I began playing barely a month ago (I couldn’t do any of the Sumeru ones because I hadn’t reached the zone on time). Big shout out and thank you to Erika for going above and beyond as Venti!
It’s said it was the VA Erika’s idea to sing it instead as the other dubs just say it like a poem. I’m so glad.
I imagine it’s hard to sing while keeping your voice in character so maybe that’s why it doesn’t happen very often.
I found this to be a gem. Though the background mondstadt music is distracting and makes it sound off, it isn't Erika's fault. I am hoping she releases a full and accompanied version soon!

Gosh, this is the first time I heard Venti singing in the game. I am crying and I did not see this coming. I wish every time Venti appears on screen, he should sing more than reciting poems. Thank you Miss Erika Harlacher for voicing our favorite bard. If Venti sings with background music, I will lose my mind from joy if ever I will encounter him again.
Fun fact. You can find venti chilling at the peak of the cliff with the thousand wind arena I think it’s called? The cliff with all the Cecilia on it.

Since she's the VA of the archon of Freedom, they said ok you're *free* ;) to sing instead of reading it normally.
We found out today that she sang this ad lib after given 5 minutes to write it on the spot. CRAZY GOOD
Found out from one of Sarah Miller-Crews' streams (Lumine's english VA) that Venti singing in the english dub was unplanned. Erika said that she asked if she could do a singing version for fun after they did the spoken version. And she didn't even know if they were going to use that take so she must've been so surprised and happy that they actually ended up using it.
Remember this: Erika said from the v5.0 live program she just did it for fun (not really expecting that Hoyoverse will include this BUT they still included it) and she only did this with one take 🤩 and this is still remembered until now how well she did the singing on this scene 🥰

I always hoped for actual singing in game, and so meaningful. Ventis lines and overall personality soothes my anxieties away, I love him and playing him as a character as well
I'm actually so happy they made someone who sing in the game actually sing except Yunjin.
Like, Venti and Barbara are literally known to sing but they never made them sing, I was so happy to hear him sing and it's so good, it made me tear up a little.
The song was amazing and I'm glad I played it in English because from what I've seen at least in Japanese he doesn't sing, I don't know about Korean and the original game language though.

@@friolle Yeah I know that, I have Itto and I love his rap but I meant that as Cutscene and as characters who are well known to be singers/good at singing and you would expect to hear them sing sooner, Itto isn't a singer like Yunjin, Venti and Barbara.
You would expect to hear them sing at least once but by original script (Chinese) only Yunjin sang and Venti wasn't supposed to sing because the Chinese version was talked but probably the English VA suggested to do that as a song because it's more fitting.
So yes Itto did sing but I meant that as characters who are supposed to sing because are known as popular singers, Itto and Venti don't even actually sing in the Chinese Canon, the only one who Canonically sing in every version is Yunjin because HoYoVerse made her sing but they didn't make Venti sing in the original Chinese version and probably the VA suggested the singing and while they didn't denied it it's not something HoYoVerse decided to do in every language like Yunjin and they never made Barbara or Venti actually sing which you would expect to see them before Itto from the Chinese language and then every other version follow their orders since HoYoVerse made them be a bard and a idol.

as someone who has been trying to get venti for AGES, (didnt have enough primos for his banner in 2021) lost 50/50 on the one in april 2.5, and then saved up since then (also got xiao and klee) just to get my baby boy, this cutscene put me on the verge of tears. Erika did an fantastic job as she always does voicing my favorite archon and Anemo user 💖

I don’t know why, but when I hear Venti singing, it gives me a strong deja vu. Like, it sounds so fucking familiar but I don’t remember hearing anything similar to that

Venti's English VA singing the poem fits more with Monstadt’s theme of freedom as you feel relaxed and free when listening to it.
Reciting it, like the other East Asian dubs did, felt more rule-bound but great nonetheless

This might just be the one time I regretted not using the EN voice. Should've switched to this from JP for this song alone. It really reminded me of the songs sung by the bards in Skyrim and DA Inquisition.
miss erika's voice is beautiful indeed, though she sounds like she was running out of breath really quickly but that's absolutely fine, either way, the ending product turned out beautiful!

Well to be fair, his signature weapon is the Skyward Harp. He shoots arrow while playing music. His normal attacks actually has a very faint tune. 😂
