    helps to share your handicap, best round at the course, best 9 hole pars, and sccore card as you go. Everyone starts out the hard way. only the true mind can grow and learn how to make small steps to lower or just enjoy your game. Having a guy how is with you on the course and showing you what club and the rythum is huge in learning fast, Somebody has to share how your arms are straight before take away. no shaft lean.

    Wow... Meadowlark is a fun track, but the length of the grass on the fairways is LONG, LOL. I need you to start putting BEFORE your round just to get a feel for the greens. Also, just hit a dozen or so 7I's before your round to warm-up that early in the morning. Keep practicing!

      Lmao putting practice would probably be a good idea.. who would’ve thought! lol.
      But yeah I have to find away to make putting fun and something I want to do. I’m getting there though. 😩
      But yeah I agree. Meadowlark does seem like a fun layout but they need to upkeep it alil better. Maybe I’ll give it another try and go play again. That first round was horrific! 😩😂

    First time viewing one of your videos man! Swing definitely doesn't seem to match the score so I look forward to more videos! With my putts I pick a dime-sized spot 6 inches in front of my ball that I'll focus on rolling my ball over during my stroke. I don't do the whole lining the ball up on the start line thing but I think it's more of a pace of play thing rather than me not thinking it'd help. I'm a 12 handicapper tho, so take that for what it's worth lol.

      Thanks man! Welcome to the channel and appreciate you you taking the time to drop a comment!
      I’ve definitely heard of the ‘focus on a point 6 inches in front of the ball’ technique. Seems to be a popular one .. I definitely just need to rep and practice that more.
      Thanks for the tip man! 🙏🏾
      Hope you continue to like the vids! Lol

    I feel like when I don’t line up puts I do better, but it’s most definitely in my head. I feel like it can be so beneficial on short puts to line it up, especially when done accurately. The best put I’ve ever had I didn’t line up like 30-35 feet with a decent break. Sick vid man hope your doing well

    • @quaypotts

    Hey Bro - even dudes in the NBA have bad shooting nights. I will say you put yourself in a pressure cooker and you are to be commended for that. Besides, those dudes you played with will forget your round in a week and so will you. Those conditions were atrocious as well and that can affect on your psyche.
    I like this type of video so keep it up. For us new golfers, it will be bad for a long time then it clicks so we need all the support we can get. We need to post all of our rounds and lament together. LOL.
    One question, how comfortable are the Jordan golf shoes? I saw you and someone else in the group wearing some.

    Hey man, one thing that helps me with reading is to pretend that your ball is water. Then imagine how the water would flow. I then straddle the line about 12 " apart and walk it one step at a time, trying to feel the break and slop. Just as a sanity check to get a better overall feel of where the ball is going to go. I never line up the ball. Hope this helps sir.

    I’m more of a feel type player. I use a combination of sight and the feel in my feet to read the greens. Straddle the line of your putt, and focus on how your weight is distributed. If one foot feels like it has more weight on it than the other, that foot is on the downhill side of the putt and the putt will break in that direction. The more weight on the foot, the steeper the slope is. Takes practice to understand the feel, but once you get it, I’m sure it will help.

    Thanks for sharing the downs, we’ve all been there. One quick thing I noticed. On hole 3, the second shot (the hybrid) where it was a miss hit cause you swung to hard: I think you swung to hard cause you were using all arms, your feet were almost touching from that camera angle.
    Maybe, maybe not, but we being tall folk need a wide base haha, see if that makes any difference.

    • @quaypotts

  • @StvRob76
    @StvRob76 6 месяцев назад

    love honesty. That is how you make true growth. As far as putting (which is one of my strengths), I always line up my putt. I mark all of my balls with a line and my signature so there is no mistake or "cheating" if it is in the woods. Can't tell you how many actually lie about that. It will always show up in your play. After I read my putt line and evaluate the speed, I line it up to a point where I want to hit it and then focus only on my line and my takeaway of the putters back stroke to that line. I don't look at anything else until after the release to see how it rolls.
    As far as course conditions... I used to blame certain things on conditions and sure, it will mess your game up but now, I have a different approach to that. If I chose to play golf on a day that you already know is going to be terrible for your game, I either don't play that day to save all of the drama, handicap drop, or potentially create a habit that doesn't help my game or, I understand that this is an opportunity to change the way I play completely. Chip shots I take out all together and either bump or pitch with other clubs. The targets are different, the focus is different... All of it is different adding in thoughts you rarely think of on a normal day. But also, it is about the course and who else is out there. It is about beating the course and the conditions on that particular day if you choose to take on conditions like that. If there is a person out there that shoots significantly better than you in the same conditions, it eliminates all of the talk of how the course conditions are because they also knew and played it differently to score the way they did.
    I am not saying the bad conditions don't hurt the game. I play like crap in those types of conditions which is also why now, I don't play in it or... I am on a mission to try different things. Just a suggestion on mindset for the future as I completely understand how you feel playing in those conditions and why it may have led to one of your worse rounds.

    • @quaypotts
      @quaypotts  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the putting tip. My thing is mostly speed control so I have to figure out how to manage that. It’s mostly all feel.
      As far as the conditions, completely agree with you. I normally wouldn’t play a course when I know the conditions aren’t favorable like in the rain or right after it rains .. but this one caught me off guard, also was invited to this tourney so had no say on the day or when we tee’d off . But I like the approach of just letting go and try playing the course differently.
      You can’t play it the same way you would play it in normal conditions. That was my first time experiencing that.. I’ll be mentally ready for it next time! lol
