Not put so much liquid and mix on your skin directly. Btw, where you put highlighter is also a weird location under outer corner of your eye? It should be more lower and on your cheek bone, not under the eye that only makes me feel you have eye bag is swollen there...

I know people are mad that she released makeup because it seems like everyone is doing it but i can tell that she actually put love into this line and it isn’t a cash grab, especially with the mental health mission. In 2013, she mentioned wanting to do a makeup line so it’s not like it came out of nowhere. The price point is also really good, the products are cheaper than a lot of the things at Sephora and I love that she didn’t use the fact that they are donating a percent of the proceeds an excuse to overprice everything. A lot of celebrity lines are really expensive but she kept accessibility in mind, especially with the fact that she made the packaging arthritis friendly by having the cap be sphere shaped because you can open it with your palms instead of your fingers.

The brushes have a little touch of a diamond hold who reflects the holding of a pencil- also meant to optimise grip minor details like that shows me that the products are very thought out and not just a celebrity cash grab - She also has taken it upon herself to support the community by pledging 10M every year for a decade, which totals to 100M for mental health - the brand is completely vegan and cruelty free - the packaging is eco friendly

I LOVE the choices she made with products. Every brand comes out with an eyeshadow pallet and (in my opinion) we only need so many! This is all the other products which I feel we actually need more choices in!
Agreed. I know it's too early to think about future launches, but I really hope that instead of a palette, she releases individual magnetic pans and magnetic palettes. It's a lot better than having a single massive palette that has loads of colours that you don't use/have similar ones in other palettes. Plus the magnetic palette would be reusable instead of having to throw out massive palettes.
Hi Karen! I saw Selena apply the highlighter with just fingertips. I know you used the brush first and it disrupt the foundation so when you use your fingertips, the foundation was already disrupted. She also used a sponge to apply the blush and it applied perfectly 🥰

Another thing is that because of the drying formula of the highlighter and blush, putting it directly on your face isn’t best because it becomes matte too quickly!! :) try putting it in the back of your hand and layer it it on your face with a brush or your fingers with patting
So with the highlight and blush - everyone set their face first lightly and applied the product with no issue!! Maybe you can try that :). Love the video!!

I've found that you can try two things... 1. try putting the product on your hand and rubbing it in a bit, then take a brush and softly apply it on the face or 2. use a damp sponge to apply the highlighter.
i learnt that liquid blush and highlighter actually look better used under foundation (if ur foundation isn't a very high coverage, ofc) for a subtle from within kinda glow and flush !! Or when used on bare skin !!

honestly i always use my finger tips to blend my highlighter, i feel it blends way better than the brush and the colors she made was so good especially mesmerize.
Your skin looked really good! I think you should've applied the foundation with your fingertips or the foundation brush that came with the kit. Or wetted the sponge with the mist that came with it. Use the sponge to tap the blush and highlighter on your face so it doesn't ruin the foundation.

I find that when the foundation shifts for me, it's mooost likely the primer. Also maybe try dabbing on the highlighter and blush rather than swiping or brushing just bc the Rare foundation is soo liquid-y 😊💕💕
Ok but that patchy comment was not correct critique. If the product is fine on one cheek but not the other that's not a product problem it's the application and or skin conditions in that area.
Actually I have it and it is patchy. For some reason you have to apply her products a certain way and a certain amount or else they don't mix and it gets patchy and it starts coming off and disrupting the foundation.
i think the reason why the foundation started moving arunnd when the highlighter was applied is because u should set your face first and the use the blush and the highlighter.

I think the real game changer from the line is the eyeliner! Once you apply it, it really enhances the overall look on your face. I would love to try the lippies as well.
A huge mistake that I’ve seen all beauty influencers that by now y’all should know this. When you apply something liquid on top of a liquid and specially using a brush and moving it around like you would with a powder blush it will obviously move your foundation. You should have use the sponge or you fingers to apply all liquids gently.

I also had the foundation disruption issue when the highlighter was applied on top. Later on, I tried highlighting after priming. I let it dry down before applying make up and had a much better over all look.

i think the blush may have moved the foundation and concealer because it had already set by the time you went to add in extra layers. the highlight and the blush are so so pretty on their own as well

okay i just want to say that when u apply the highlighter u have to blend it right away cause while it dries down it becomes tacky and when it settles it won't move at all... same case for the blush
From what I've seen from other reviews is that her formula isn't meant to be mixed with powder. Also, you never layer cream or liquids on top of powder. From the other reviews it seems like its just the foundation isn't that great when mixed with the other products. You're needing to blend the blush and highlighter fast and by using tap motions with your finger.
it must be really irritating for this woman, as a professional makeup artist, to have loads of people in the comments telling her how to put on makeup. It's literally her JOB. She doesn't have to like every product, different things work differently for everyone. Selena fans are doing this under all makeup artists videos and i've seen some people be super rude just because they don't like something.

You don't use liquids or creams on top of powder. The reason why it moved is because the only way to apply everything on top is with your fingers and using tap motions or with a beauty sponge. If you use a brush it will be a mess.

I've seen alot of reviews and the foundation moves when they apply the highlighter. I think you just have to tap with your fingers. I've seen gurus use sponges and different brushes and so far it only works when you use your fingers.
Regarding the Soft Touch Blushes: Bliss and Grace are matte and Joy and Happy are dewy :) Did you try blending the highlight in before you move onto another section and not letting in dry down? You could also add some highlight to foundation to see if that helps?
i feel like she didn't even see the product before reviewing! i mean she didn't even know that there are brushes in the package and there are 2 kinds of blushes, 2 of those blushes dry down dewy too. so girl, i think you should read or see what you have got before giving the review next time maybe?

I’ve watched several Rare beauty reviews with different skin tones and I noticed that setting the foundation with powder helps.

honestly i always use my finger tips to blend my highlighter, i feel it blends way better than the brush and the colors she made was so good especially mesmerize.
Your skin looked really good! I think you should've applied the foundation with your fingertips or the foundation brush that came with the kit. Or wetted the sponge with the mist that came with it. Use the sponge to tap the blush and highlighter on your face so it doesn't ruin the foundation.

I find that when the foundation shifts for me, it's mooost likely the primer. Also maybe try dabbing on the highlighter and blush rather than swiping or brushing just bc the Rare foundation is soo liquid-y 😊💕💕

Ok but that patchy comment was not correct critique. If the product is fine on one cheek but not the other that's not a product problem it's the application and or skin conditions in that area.

Actually I have it and it is patchy. For some reason you have to apply her products a certain way and a certain amount or else they don't mix and it gets patchy and it starts coming off and disrupting the foundation.
I got rid of the foundation and everything else worse fine w my wet n wild foundation. I think its just the foundation.

The sponge is for the highlighter and blush. The brushes are for the concealer and foundation, but can also use sponge on foundation

A huge mistake that I’ve seen all beauty influencers that by now y’all should know this. When you apply something liquid on top of a liquid and specially using a brush and moving it around like you would with a powder blush it will obviously move your foundation. You should have use the sponge or you fingers to apply all liquids gently.

There is two different kinds of blushes, they are matte AND dewy ones. The packaging looks identical though.
I also had the foundation disruption issue when the highlighter was applied on top. Later on, I tried highlighting after priming. I let it dry down before applying make up and had a much better over all look.

i think the blush may have moved the foundation and concealer because it had already set by the time you went to add in extra layers. the highlight and the blush are so so pretty on their own as well

okay i just want to say that when u apply the highlighter u have to blend it right away cause while it dries down it becomes tacky and when it settles it won't move at all... same case for the blush
Maybe the reason why the highlighter shuffled the foundation is because u didn’t set the foundation or concealer
From what I've seen from other reviews is that her formula isn't meant to be mixed with powder. Also, you never layer cream or liquids on top of powder. From the other reviews it seems like its just the foundation isn't that great when mixed with the other products. You're needing to blend the blush and highlighter fast and by using tap motions with your finger.
Another RUclipsr used a sponge to apply the blush and it worked...

it must be really irritating for this woman, as a professional makeup artist, to have loads of people in the comments telling her how to put on makeup. It's literally her JOB. She doesn't have to like every product, different things work differently for everyone. Selena fans are doing this under all makeup artists videos and i've seen some people be super rude just because they don't like something.

Because you didn't set the foundation that's why the highlighter moved the foundation.
You don't use liquids or creams on top of powder. The reason why it moved is because the only way to apply everything on top is with your fingers and using tap motions or with a beauty sponge. If you use a brush it will be a mess.

I've seen alot of reviews and the foundation moves when they apply the highlighter. I think you just have to tap with your fingers. I've seen gurus use sponges and different brushes and so far it only works when you use your fingers.

Julia Vu personally I pat it with my fingers and don’t have that problem. And I don’t set. But idk maybe it’s different for different skin types.
Regarding the Soft Touch Blushes: Bliss and Grace are matte and Joy and Happy are dewy :) Did you try blending the highlight in before you move onto another section and not letting in dry down? You could also add some highlight to foundation to see if that helps?
i feel like she didn't even see the product before reviewing! i mean she didn't even know that there are brushes in the package and there are 2 kinds of blushes, 2 of those blushes dry down dewy too. so girl, i think you should read or see what you have got before giving the review next time maybe?
