I know people are mad that she released makeup because it seems like everyone is doing it but i can tell that she actually put love into this line and it isn’t a cash grab, especially with the mental health mission. In 2013, she mentioned wanting to do a makeup line so it’s not like it came out of nowhere. She had health problems at the time so now that she’s better, she decided to pursue it. The price point is also really good, everything is under $30 so the products are cheaper than a lot of the things at Sephora and I love that she didn’t use the fact that they are donating a percent of the proceeds an excuse to overprice everything. A lot of celebrity lines are really expensive but she kept accessibility in mind, especially with the fact that she made the packaging arthritis friendly by having the cap be sphere shaped because you can open it with your palms instead of your fingers. She also made it vegan and cruelty free which I think is great.

Rihanna did make sure she had shades for everyone which was a really huge thing for a new makeup brand but she didn’t create any new types of products. I have plenty of fenty products but I bought some of Selena’s today because of the price point.

I have to try this! I love how she designed the packaging to make the products easier to open, accommodating people with limited dexterity. I have to use my feet to put on makeup because my arms are disabled. So I really appreciate the inclusivity here!
I feel you! I have Lupus too like her. Tho mine attacks all internally, hers is more focused on the kidney. One of our struggles is arthritis as the immune system attack our joints so much. There would be days I couldn't walk or everything felt like swollen and couldn't move or painful (which is everyday). Lupus is an autoimmune disease. In layman's term, our immune system is sooooooo active that instead of just fighting illnesses or viruses and bacterias, it also attacks healthy cells and our organs. I just had an operation last month as it attacked my GI. I am in pain every damn day, so having this is so thoughtful. This may be weird looking to others but it will help us a lot. Something that will help us and make us feel beautiful is a plus!

Selena got so much hate for this for NO REASON. She came out with a makeup line because she can. Why try and stop her? Many made the comment of her not wearing a lot of makeup to begin with but I think that's the entire point. She's encouraging women and men to love the skin they're in and rock their flawless lightweight looks when they want. Personally, this is right up my alley. All true, and so important. This is NOT a cash grab ethier, she's planned this for years, and put so much thought into it. Donating 100million, clearly shuts that theory down. This is not to fatten her wallet, she doesn't need that. This is personal to her, for the light it sheds on mental health, and doing what she can to help with accessibility to those in need. 👏

I will ALWAYS remember Kathleen supporting Selena for YEARS, I remember when she bought tickets for the Revival Tour and why she had to cancel :( the song from Selena’s album, “Revival” is so personal Kathleen I remember that as well. Because there's nothing new in creating a makeup brand, sorry. I've seen positive stuff about it, like it's vegan, non comedogenic and affordable and that's a nice consideration towards customers, but I also think it's a lot about publicity and social media which is giving a huge hype and popularity. I hope it's a good one. But creating another makeup brand to increase consumption (more of the things we don't need) isn't new, it's not hate towards her, like you don't even know her, it's just a critic eye on the impact of these things.

The whole collection was made with people with arthritis in mind. So i think it makes sense that the sponge is so soft because it is easier to wring out than a super dense one when your hands are really in pain and sensitive.
I feel so much respect for selena rn. I was never a huge fan of her. Like, I just never followed her or listened to her songs but her initiative of helping those with mental health is so refreshing to see. I had to look again to actually CONFIRM that the products were below $20, which is SO rare these days with ANY makeup brand. Love it!

Just FYI her packaging has the spheres on top of it for people with arthritis (like her) where it’s easier for people with disabilities to open using their palm instead of fingers due to arthritis or hand tremors. This was important to her since she suffers from Lupus and complications from that. I’m just so in awe of Selena. So proud!

I just came from Selena's "perfect cat eye" video where she was talking about this line. I have to say, I am so beyond impressed, not just with the charity thing (which is extremely awesome), but for the arthritis friendly packaging. I have fibro/RA (in the process of making sure I don't have MS) and my hands are one of my biggest, and most frustrating issues. Some days, they just don't work. I will endlessly appreciate someone taking the time to consider hand weakness when designing packaging.
I feel like her brand got so much undeserved hate when it was first announced and I’m so happy to see all these positive reviews of people loving it! Especially with the amazing advocating of mental health behind this brand ❤️ I personally can not wait to purchase the foundation and cream blush for myself!
But actually all the other reviews were much better than this one. She could‘ve done just a liitle more reserach (I mean not knowing why the 4 in 1 setting spray is named 4 in 1?!) and not mentioning that there are 2 different blush formulas... Looks like she was in a rush but anyways I like her chanel. Oh and that lipliner is anoying...for a Beauty chanel she could use some different products....that is why I am watching beauty reviews.

the blushes actually have different finishes based on the color. two are matte and two are dewy. i think you mixed one matte and one dewy. the actual matte ones are not shiney .
In my opinion, people who don’t like rare beauty don’t understand rare beauty. The Whole message of being rare is that you, yourself, are rare. It’s about enhancing natural beauty not covering it up. That’s why people who apply a lot don’t usually like it, because you’re not meant to. You’re meant to add tiny amounts to enhance your natural beauty. It really is such a cool concept for a brand. Not to mention the work she did with making it accessible to everyone with the packaging, making it cruelty free, and donating 100 million to charity. There is a reason Selena is so popular. Not just just as a celebrity, but as a person. It’s because of how thoughtful she is, and how much effort she puts into everything she does. She really did an outstanding job. The message is beautiful, the makeup is beautiful, overall an amazing line.
Seeing people fallin in love with rare beauty is whole other level of happiness to me, she put her heart in this beauty line for 2 years just to make something that fits everybody, i am so PROUD of my queen, that’s totally her year and finally we now do have a reason to love this year.

The Rare Beauty blushes were the first (and still to this day ONLY) cream blush I've tried. I'd always been super scared of them before but I'd heard good things about Selena's blush. I love them! So easy to blend out and one bottle lasts me for months.
Remember the days where make up was either drugstore or MAC? Simpler times😂 now it’s so overwhelming because there’s something new every week and I want to try it ALL!! 😩

The design feature for people with chronic pain is actually making me tear up. Living with chronic pain is such a burden and the way simple things - like opening a bottle - can be painful is so discouraging. Struggling with stuff like that makes you feel so helpless it's just a reminder of everything you're dealing with, so Selena including that is so encouraging and caring to people who are hurting like she did. okay typically I never comment on these kind of videos but I've been watching a lot of reviews about that collection and the liquid lipsticks are actually VERY pigmented, just something maybe some people would like to know 🤷🏻♀️
I just found out that the packaging style isn't just for looks, the lids are made to be easy to twist off for people with disabilities!!!! I especially appreciate this as a young(ish) person afflicted with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I just think that is Such a Freaking Cool thing for a makeup line to do! 🥰
So excited for this launch, everything it stands for, and the user friendly packaging. Selena got me into cream blushes back in 2010 so the line is already so on brand and I can’t wait for my order to arrive!
Fun fact! Selena Gomez specifically made her products with that ball on top so people like her with lupus and arthritis could easily open everything. The entire line is vegan and cruelty free as well! Major win here. Also, products have preservatives in them that help prevent germs and bacteria from building up inside products so you can touch them to your face all you want. Just don't share them w anyone else and you're fine. This includes skincare too!

Because there's nothing new in creating a makeup brand, sorry. I've seen positive stuff about it, like it's vegan, non comedogenic and affordable and that's a nice consideration towards customers, but I also think it's a lot about publicity and social media which is giving a huge hype and popularity. I hope it's a good one. But creating another makeup brand to increase consumption (more of the things we don't need) isn't new, it's not hate towards her, like you don't even know her, it's just a critic eye on the impact of these things.

Literally when she did foundation on half of her face I forgot she didn’t do the other half because her skin is so clear!
The whole collection was made with people with arthritis in mind. So i think it makes sense that the sponge is so soft because it is easier to wring out than a super dense one when your hands are really in pain and sensitive.
I feel so much respect for selena rn. I was never a huge fan of her. Like, I just never followed her or listened to her songs but her initiative of helping those with mental health is so refreshing to see. I had to look again to actually CONFIRM that the products were below $20, which is SO rare these days with ANY makeup brand. Love it!

Oh my god, I just saw Selena Gomez makeup tutorial using her new Rare products and I was like let me see if Kathleen has made a video. I couldn’t find one but Low and behold Kathleen has read my mind!! I love you Kathleen 💕😊
Just FYI her packaging has the spheres on top of it for people with arthritis (like her) where it’s easier for people with disabilities to open using their palm instead of fingers due to arthritis or hand tremors. This was important to her since she suffers from Lupus and complications from that. I’m just so in awe of Selena. So proud!

I just came from Selena's "perfect cat eye" video where she was talking about this line. I have to say, I am so beyond impressed, not just with the charity thing (which is extremely awesome), but for the arthritis friendly packaging. I have fibro/RA (in the process of making sure I don't have MS) and my hands are one of my biggest, and most frustrating issues. Some days, they just don't work. I will endlessly appreciate someone taking the time to consider hand weakness when designing packaging.
I feel like her brand got so much undeserved hate when it was first announced and I’m so happy to see all these positive reviews of people loving it! Especially with the amazing advocating of mental health behind this brand ❤️

the blushes actually have different finishes based on the color. two are matte and two are dewy. i think you mixed one matte and one dewy. the actual matte ones are not shiney .

In my opinion, people who don’t like rare beauty don’t understand rare beauty. The Whole message of being rare is that you, yourself, are rare. It’s about enhancing natural beauty not covering it up. That’s why people who apply a lot don’t usually like it, because you’re not meant to. You’re meant to add tiny amounts to enhance your natural beauty. It really is such a cool concept for a brand. Not to mention the work she did with making it accessible to everyone with the packaging, making it cruelty free, and donating 100 million to charity.
There is a reason Selena is so popular. Not just just as a celebrity, but as a person. It’s because of how thoughtful she is, and how much effort she puts into everything she does. She really did an outstanding job. The message is beautiful, the makeup is beautiful, overall an amazing line.
Seeing people fallin in love with rare beauty is whole other level of happiness to me, she put her heart in this beauty line for 2 years just to make something that fits everybody, i am so PROUD of my queen, that’s totally her year and finally we now do have a reason to love this year.
Kathleen I love you so much but Can I suggest something? Please don’t fill the entire lip with lip liner because the essence of the first impression is completely gone. I couldn’t see anything about the pigmentation and if it does dry out or not. 🥺

Selena’s inclusivity with this brand is incredible. Not only is she pushing light on mental health but the “ball” at the top of the bottles are specifically to help those with arthritis or shaky hands. We LOVE that 💗

The Rare Beauty blushes were the first (and still to this day ONLY) cream blush I've tried. I'd always been super scared of them before but I'd heard good things about Selena's blush. I love them! So easy to blend out and one bottle lasts me for months.

I was hesitant in watching this in worry it wouldn't turn out well, like previous celebrity brands have, but I'm glad I did. When I saw the shade range on the Sephora website, I was sooo happy. Also I love the fact that people were specifically named along side the foundation shades because I’ve always been in love with that concept.
I just bought it today, I love the foundation!!! It has this serum texture that feels like skin care!! Can’t wait to try the next products!!

The design feature for people with chronic pain is actually making me tear up. Living with chronic pain is such a burden and the way simple things - like opening a bottle - can be painful is so discouraging. Struggling with stuff like that makes you feel so helpless it's just a reminder of everything you're dealing with, so Selena including that is so encouraging and caring to people who are hurting like she did. And the fact that she is donating to help mental health just makes it better. I really *really* wanna try it now. It looks so soft and natural and the colors she chose are just

I just found out that the packaging style isn't just for looks, the lids are made to be easy to twist off for people with disabilities!!!! I especially appreciate this as a young(ish) person afflicted with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I just think that is Such a Freaking Cool thing for a makeup line to do! 🥰

Fun fact! Selena Gomez specifically made her products with that ball on top so people like her with lupus and arthritis could easily open everything. The entire line is vegan and cruelty free as well! Major win here.
Also, products have preservatives in them that help prevent germs and bacteria from building up inside products so you can touch them to your face all you want. Just don't share them w anyone else and you're fine. This includes skincare too!
