I have been living in Power ❤ I personally feel like there has not been a makeup house that understands colours as well as a Lisa Eldridge or Violette until Merit. They do colour so well! I’d dying for them to release some cool tone every day shades!

I have been searching for a red lipstick that works well with my skin tone and undertone for most of my adult life. I've gone through so many iconic and popular red lips only to be disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised when I came across Power. I've never had much luck with cool toned red lipsticks but this just looks so well on my skin. I do feel like a sophisticated, powerful woman when I wear it. Thank you, Merit!

So excited that you shared your thoughts! I couldn’t wait and I bought the four pack! I was initially a little disappointed with two of the shades, Classic and Antibes. For context, I am a light brown skinned Latina. Those two were a little bit too light for me. But Antibes quickly became my everyday shade and after this video, I followed your instructions and just did a single swipe of Classic on my lips and I like how that looks, so I’m back in for all four shades. Power looked great and Maison were favorites right away! Glad I got the set! I’m looking forward to buying more! I already have about few of the satin shades and I love those too! I think Court is next on my list!
Hi Jeannette, your comment is very useful for me as I’m also Latina in light/light medium skin tone with warm/yellow undertones so it’s hard to picture those colours on me. Some definitely look better in winter time as I become quite pale however the yellow undertone change everything so I don’t know. I put my eye on Maison, Sunday and Classic however they might be too pinkish and light respectively. I don’t know. I’ll keep watching reviews before making a decision. Saludos
I picked up La Maison as soon as it came out and I love it! Not surprising as I’ve worn CT Bond girl for so long I can’t remember when I started. I also love so many of these formulas as I am a lip junkie. I have light to light/medium olive skin (in summer) with pretty pigmented lips so none of the lighter colors work on me without a very pigmented liner. They make me look dead. I prefer neutral colors, meaning not warm and not cool. Rosy browny tones with medium depth being my favs. I wish merit would come out with some more pigmented shades of their existing colors. Like CT did with pillow talk medium and deep. Original PT makes my lips disappear, whereas PT medium is perfect. So deeper neutrally tones in a variety of colors is my vote. I’ll buy them all!

(On a similar Maison/L'avenue/Bond Girl note: I've been eyeing Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip in Telluride, swatched it in store yesterday next to Bond Girl, and found it to be very similar! It's funny when a specific color family steals your heart without you noticing. 😂)

I have tried Maison and Equestrian so far and love them both. As a medium tan skin girl, I've never had a brown lipstick go straight from bullet effortlessly and look good, I've been searching for one all my life. And Equestrian is it, my daily lipstick. Lisa's Velvet decade is pretty good, but I need to work it in light layers for the right blend, but Equestrian hits it right without much effort. Thank you Merit. Got my 3 yesterday - Antibes, Classic and Court. I agree, lovely light texture but surprising staying power (Antibes lasted for hours on me today and no other lipsticks really do, apart from the new MAC matte, which is a completely different look). I have a very fair slightly warm olive skin tone and Antibes seems a perfect nude for me. Warms up my face perfectly without being obvious. Love it.

I’m having a hard time picking a favorite cause they are all so beautiful and wearable. That being said, I am warm toned. I’m not sure how this would all look on a very cool toned person.

I have Boss Pink in the new Bobbi Brown Luxe Matte formula. I am usually not a fan of Matte lipsticks but this is not drying and I love the finish and durability. I add Lilac in the BB Crushed Lip colour for touch ups during the day in the office and love the feel of the combo. I found the original Merit Signature lipsticks drying and I prefer the CT KISSING formula to the Matte so I will be giving this a miss despite the gorgeous colours. I can at least test BB in store in South Africa unlike CT and Merit which is purchased online so mistakes are costly.

Hi Matilda, I own one of the satin lipsticks from Merit in the shade Tiger. It's been over a year, and the lipstick has started smelling slightly off. No change in performance though. Hence checking if you or anyone else has experienced the same. Will be a shame if it has gone bad

Uh such great colors! Personally i think Antibes looks like Mac mull it to max or romand pomeoco. Sunday looks like a ramped up rosiental . Personally I think I would love court and vermillion and sunday . I'm wondering how close sunday is to dior clasique or mac get the hint
Just swatched Sunday next to Dior 772 Classic - Sunday is much cooler and more 'pink', whereas Classic is a lot warmer and red-toned. Hope that helps Anca! ☺️💄 x
Oh man I really want to try them but I’m still not sure which color to go for. I was hoping for one of the new nudes to be similar to Baby (my top favorite lipstick shade ever) but none of them seem similar in color 😢 perhaps I should try one of the reds since I don’t have any Merit red in my collection other than L’avenue…perhaps Vermillion since I never got to try Apperitif?
I haven't tried them anywhere else Angelina, but you might be right! The texture sheers out so nicely so it could potentially be a fun monochrome blush and lip moment 😍 x

Reporting back Lulu! 👋 Unfortunately I don't have Velvet Pompadour to compare, but I can confirm that Muse and Affair aren't close Lisa sisters for Maison - Muse is a little lighter and more rosy, and Affair is further off because it's more brown-toned. The berry tones of Maison actually make it much closer to something like Velvet Blush, but it's almost as if Muse and Blush had a baby to soften it slightly? Hope that makes sense! x

Uh such great colors! Personally i think Antibes looks like Mac mull it to max or romand pomeoco. Sunday looks like a ramped up rosiental . Personally I think I would love court and vermillion and sunday . I'm wondering how close sunday is to dior clasique or mac get the hint
Just swatched Sunday next to Dior 772 Classic - Sunday is much cooler and more 'pink', whereas Classic is a lot warmer and red-toned. Hope that helps Anca! ☺️💄 x

Oh man I really want to try them but I’m still not sure which color to go for. I was hoping for one of the new nudes to be similar to Baby (my top favorite lipstick shade ever) but none of them seem similar in color 😢 perhaps I should try one of the reds since I don’t have any Merit red in my collection other than L’avenue…perhaps Vermillion since I never got to try Apperitif?
You can see Classic next to Baby in the satin swatches late in the video Cris! But it's definitely not as muted as Baby. Decisions, decisions! 💄 x

Ooh good question Lulu! Muse was the Lisa shade I swatched in the formula comparison section of this video. Maison is definitely more berry-toned than Affair, but let me do some comparisons tomorrow in daylight and get back to you! 👍💄 x
Reporting back Lulu! 👋 Unfortunately I don't have Velvet Pompadour to compare, but I can confirm that Muse and Affair aren't close Lisa sisters for Maison - Muse is a little lighter and more rosy, and Affair is further off because it's more brown-toned. The berry tones of Maison actually make it much closer to something like Velvet Blush, but it's almost as if Muse and Blush had a baby to soften it slightly? Hope that makes sense! x
