I wish I had seen this before assembling my SW 67 laser. The build is almost identical but there was very little guidance. You did some things I wish I would have done. The maiden is this week! I'm pretty excited.
@@upwardrc The maiden was fine. Since then I broke 2 out of 3 rudder hinges. After replacing, (this time using epoxy with Vaseline where it hinges) I also sealed the hinge gap with covering. It's trimmed and flies terrific. I think SW makes a great model. I especially like the wing servo connections.
Nice overview, just got the SW Yak 54 PNP myself. Just very bad practice to calibrate/change ESC settings with the prop mounted! If people follow along, please don't follow that step and remove the prop first. These props on 6S will send you to the ER within a blink.
Hi, thank you for your valuable video. I am not a 3D pilot, I carry out sport flights with some 3D figures. Could you tell me the recommended CG and the right excursions for low rate and high rate of this model? A thousand thanks. Maurice.
I would start with putting the CG about a third of the way back on the wing and then adjust from there for your liking and flying style. I run just high rates on my 3D planes. My ailerons at around 36-38 degrees, my elevator around 50 - 55 degrees, and my rudder just enough so that it runs parallel to the elevator cutout at full deflection. I would probably start with half those rates for a sport setup. I would especially tone down the tail rates.

Nice! hey, what Expo do you have setup, those are huge throws
Thank you! I’m still experimenting to find the sweet spot for this plane. I normally start with 65 on Ailerons, 40 on rudder and 50 on Elevator. That said it really just depends on how you like it.

Totally! all personal preference. I just want to know out of curiosity how others do it. Hope you post some video of the flights. Thank you
I need to know where to find the settings for transmitter for this plane. Having trouble finding what to set everything to as far as aleirons an elevator
@@upwardrc thanks! I actually managed to find the exact same one an hour ago after some close examination of the few close up shots of the iron in the video and comparing it to pictures of ones on Amazon and I found the identical match! Apparently I'm a legendary detective 😂

@waynemiller6070 Yeah. The rudder hinges broke on the second time out to the field for me as well. I ended up putting some stronger hinges on it.
Thanks for the temp info.. I very much needed to know that for sure.
Glad it helped!

Yep totally agree. I should have done that. If you mess up and get the motor reversed or something with the prop on you will be in big trouble.
Nice video! I subscribed!
Awesome! Thanks man

@ For sure. I hope to get some right videos out soon!
Awesome!! happy holidays

I set the ailerons to 37 degrees up and 38 down. Elevator around 50ish degrees
What covering iron are you using? Im havinf a hard time finding a good temperature controlled covering iron
This is what I’m using: a.co/d/6P2BRQi

What iron is that?
Hi! It’s from Amazon. Here is the link: O'SKOOL Display Veneer Edge Banding Sealing Iron a.co/d/4V73dBc
