Sir... ... Let me just say... both your carving and painting skills are soooo amazing! I like to think I'm something of an artist...particularly drawing birds. The last several years I've gotten into custom painting fishing lures. If ever, I thought I was "arriving", I see your work and realize I have so much further to go than I've come...and I thank the Good Lord for the lesson in humility. Your videos are wonderfully entertaining as well as educational. I really like that you are painting outside too. Sounds like you have a cardinal watching you that also approves of your work! :) God Bless...thank you SO much for posting all these...Cant wait for the next one!!! Have a GREAT day!

Thanks that made my day! I’ve only been wood carving for a little over a year so it’s all new to me. I have been painting and drawing all my life so the painting is the easiest for me. Have you seen my time lapse digital paintings here? And for my videos I still feel funny talking to a camera😂
I carve outside because I don’t have a proper studio/shop. But that’s in the works. So for now I don’t mind sitting on my porch or the table behind my old pole barn. Just hate lugging equipment in and out. But I guess I should be thankful that I’m still healthy enough to haul it in and out. The only draw back is weather when it freezing cold out or burning hot. My studio when I build one WILL have heat and air😜
But the advantage is when the weather is nice. I live in the country so I have a ton of birds all the time. I’m surprised you couldn’t hear the humming birds buzzing around in this video.

Danny I have really enjoyed watching your videos and have learnt a lot.
I got some watercolour pencils, but haven't used them yet.
I like the subtle effects you got with them and the black bars look nicer done with the charcoal pencil. Keep up the good work👍👍

Just do a little at a time, in very light washes. The brush only has to be damp.

Yeah I subscribe to his channel and I’ve seen all his videos😜 I used some of his techniques on the last largemouth bass I did.
