I 100%, all day, all night mix any & all media to achieve what I want. I’m happiest when instinct & gut take over. Been there, done that, time to move on.

I have very limited experience with Posca. But lots of use with Molotow acrylic markers, including their empty acrylic markers to fill with acrylics yourself.
Acrylic markers in general are *chefskiss*

I love acrylic markers so much as well! Molotow is much more versatile, but Posca have more consistent ink flow. I use them both too! -Lauryn, Art Prof Teaching Artist

You definitely need to swatch your ohuhu's before using. Depending on the paper the colors will vary some. Also colorless blender i use with colored pencils, easier on the wrist instead of burnishing 😁

I use pastel pencil to draw out the design and then acrylic paint to block in. Once that’s dry I add oil pastel details and then scratch in with coloured pencil.
Or I use marker pen to sketch outlines then watercolour or watercolour pencils for colouring in
    Sometimes just marker pen.
Sketch book drawings almost always start with fine liner hardly ever pencil.

Sorry missed this today, great video. I recently purchased the POSCA 1 ML to do detail work, working with flow improver to mix the acrylic & lessen the drying, gotta work fast...looking at 5 ML and 7 ML as I work with re-purposing old wood projects.

So sorry I missed this stream. I was cleaning and lost track of time 😂
I had so many comments I wished I could add to the conversation!
I love markers, both Tombow watercolor and alcohol based ones. I also love going mixed media on projects. Granted I’m more likely to use acrylic paint or markers by themselves, but poscas, Neocolors, watercolors, and colored pencils-I love to mix and match for different looks.

i have been single media my whole life, but recently i have been using markers with colored pencil for for shading and it really makes for alot of control and pop in my children's illustrations. i have markers from at least 4 companies at this point (ohuhu is not one of them yet) i have noticed markers do tend to be dark as well. i have liked the pulp paper watercolor paper best so far. i did buy a marker paper pad by strathmore... it's awful! on pulp watercolor paper it is nice and bright but nothing i could do would do better than a pastel (even bright or dark colors!) i mostly use colorless blender as an eraser, it's good for pushing colors that bleed back into place. i work dark to light and use the lighter color to blend, seemed to work better. it was alot of work and my lightest color was completely used up on just the one picture. i use alot of microns, i make full on line arts before simplifying it for painting. going to have to put the one painting (drawing?) i full on did with markers when i first got them in show in tell (or maybe critique?) on discord.i was really amazed what i was able to do with them. i rarely use the chisel tip, like the brush best. i think this is the closest to a two way learning experience i have ever had in my life... for any kind of class. lurker? no... sorry, late to class. i think the only thing i have used a posca for was my mailbox. holds up to being outside really well, but i used the thin ones. i have heard about the liquid charcoal but only last year and i am not a big charcoal person so not really looked at it. i hear you on the money. i can make so many things... i rarely sell anything let alone actually go in the black compared to what i spend on supplies. i was a fan of the first movie... 80'S?, read many of the books. i have my nerd card. i am most drawn to the contrast with the earthy spice colored background with the brilliant jewel tone blue commanding your attention. the fact that it is eyes makes it even more commanding/demanding of your attention. behavioral studies show that people are drawn to eyes watching them and will be prompted to act differently when they know they are being watched. it's why they are so heavily used in advertising because when people feel they are being watched they tend to look for the source and making eye stand out will draw attention quickly to their advert/poster. this is where knowing advertising tactics will help with your posters which are technically advertising. sorry this was long, hopefully some of it is helpful.

I also love the brush side best-- tombow brush pens have to be my favorite! I'll never forget discovering those in high school-- they completely changed the game for me. I had dozens crammed into my school bags and loved the new addition of color to my sketchbook :) - Mia, Art Prof Staff

sorry i could not attend live, I live in Australia and your streams are in the middle of the night. FYI about teaching movie posters. I am a secondary visual arts teacher. In Victoria (all states) of Australia a student can do the Year 11 and Year 12 units (last two years of high school) in either Media or Visual Communication Design subjects which covers what you would need to know about producing something like a Movie Poster. All this information is on the Department of Education's relevant website. so anyone can access it and you can use that information to assist you.

I recently got introduced to alcohol markers. I was trying to find something that was similar to copic (I'm a preschool teacher so I can't afford it) and found people saying that Ohuhu is similar.

Why should you shift your technique just to suit the markers you don’t like. Donate them to a school x
