Thank you for bringing us along. My granddad used to take us out walking, and he would find owl regurgitated bone and fur, and show us, he used to tell us about the plants and history of the area. We learnt a lot from him. You finding the bird droppings, just reminded me of him.

I really enjoy metal detecting trips. You explain and see so much in an area, where we just see grass. It's so interesting. And to see the treasures that you pull out of the ground, is amazing! The arrowhead, and Wheatie, to start it off. And the silver dime along with the spear point! Just discovery after discovery. What a great first metal detecting trip! Happy Easter Nate! Quest on!❤
all things seem new again this season, .. a few years of strange travels and strange days , its good to be back at the roots of it, feeling out the original reasons and finding the simple joy again. very thankful to have made it to this spring.

We have 2 or 3 (or more) old homesites from late 1800's early 1900's around our place. Thinking of getting a metal detector to see what can be found, any suggestions Nate?
Garrett and minelab , they have whole range of prices, I use the Garrett At Pro , a machine that will always get all kinds of treasure, and now my minelab equinox 800 , they are both machines that can hunt gold or parks and the minicab is a beach machine also, both companies make a whole range of price levels and all work well. the minelab equinox 800 is arguably one of the best machines ever made.
Whoa! That arrowhead is amazing. Definitely more than a thousand years old but.
yes the layer was deep, ill show you another flat spot out here I call " fish camp " its terra preta three feet deep with soot so dark it stains your hands and full of every thing you can imagine, I don't hunt it I just realized its story at some point, its the flat high ground where the river hit gravel beds back when it ran to the ocean and the swimmers could still come up and spawn. the riffle thats bene lost to a lake but during drought the old channel and stumps are still there, and the camp , several acres, ....every nice spot on this coast....hard to find a flat spot that wasn't occupied.
