    The cause of milk spotting discoloration on silver coins has been attributed to the preparation of the silver planchets prior to the stamping of the coins. The planchets undergo burnishing with polished steel beads in an agitator vat with a detergent solution. Then the planchets are rinsed to remove the detergent. Thereafter they are heated in an annealing oven to soften the planchets. However, the rinsing off of the detergent may not always be sufficiently thorough. This results in residual detergent becoming inadvertently baked onto the surface of the planchets in the annealing oven and do not become visible until perhaps months later. An effective method to thoroughly remove the residual detergent after rinsing is to utilize pressurized steam cleansing but most mints do not take this extra cleansing step.

    • @CashAndCoinsYT
      @CashAndCoinsYT  Год назад +2

      Great information. Do you recommend steaming the milk spotted coins?

    • @jadenephrite
      @jadenephrite Год назад +4

      @@CashAndCoinsYT It would be too late to try to steam off milk spots from discolored silver coins, because the residual detergent has already been indelibly baked onto the surface of the silver coins. The best opportunity to thoroughly cleanse the silver planchets would have been prior to them being baked in the annealing oven.

    I reached the same conclusion the hard way. I started out thinking I had to get the most silver with the least premium. I bought whatever was on sale and I realized too late that if I die before my wife, she’s going to inherit a big mess and probably get ripped off when she liquidates. If I could start over, it would be all maple leafs unless silver eagle premiums came back to earth. Sounds boring, but it was supposed to be for savings and/or insurance.

    As far as sovereign bullion goes, I'd choose 2019 and later maples over eagles every time. Reason: purity, quality, design, lower premium, fewer counterfeits, worldwide acceptability (especially in the secondary market). I only buy one or two sovereign bullions a month nowadays though, currently stacking more generic rounds and bars due to the lower premiums. But I do love the maples🥰🥰🥰

The purity makes for amazing results when the solution produced is consumed for the benefits people seek. I used to get frequent UTI’s and consequently have consumed way too much anti-biotic medicines over the last 19 years, which have caused a multitude of problems, including the usual black box symptoms, but way worse. Taking tablespoons of high ppm silver content colloids has seriously reduced the need for drugs to combat UTI’s now.
