In 2016, I paid over 5 grand for the LV Capucines. I went to visit my sister and hung out with a friend of hers whose husband is a well-known known surgeon. This friend had the same handbag and disclosed to me that it was a fake. I was floored and haven't purchased a high-end handbag since
I’ve brought a fake in the past, I’ve never been able to afford designer brands and probably never will but I can dream. I’m 36 and nicest place I’ve ever brought bags from is *suluxs* lol 😂
I know wealthy women that carry replicas. The predominant reason they give is that they simply understand the value of money and don’t want to spend so much on a bag… especially trendy ones. They do, however, spend plenty of money on fine jewelry and other things.
I still love my LV reverse monogram yt: *preluxs* clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
i have both real bags and high quality fakes and not gona lie... you cannot tell the difference. i think even rich ladies are just sick of these chanel prices.
@@ameliarosescloset its very hard to find a really good one! there is only one seller that i have bought from that uses all real leather and doesn't miss a stitch
@@feliciaclark3568 can you say the Name of the seller please? Bought a chanel in store in Germany and im soooooo disappointed. 350€ will be enogh for this bag....its a freaking usual bag...now chanel refuse to take it back
I live in Dubai and here, if you have contacts, you can buy super good fake bags, master pieces, I know several rich women who buy, at least 5 of 15 bags are fake, I also bought 3 and I am happy with mine fake chanel bag i was in chsnel store, sellers didn't notice anything, i have no problem with it...😊
I’ve been tempted because I’m a black man and I often get asked if my bags are fake. People just assume immediately that they are. So I’ve thought why do I bother spending so much on these bags? I have yet to buy a fake but I do see why people do it.
@@katemiller7874 You are a white woman so you do not have the same experiences I do as a black man. Please don’t try and equate your life to mine. Let’s not beat around the bush here it well known that anti blackness is a global phenomenon. My perspective is valid despite you never having been the victim of racism. I speak from my lived experiences not from a place of speculation.
@Kate Miller but honestly why even ask, just say nice bag, does it make any difference, I don't tell people my diamond is mosinite, people are strange 🤔 😐
I have high quality fakes and I strongly believe wealthy people are wealthy for a reason …they don’t throw away their hard earned money on overpriced stuff…that is how many got wealthy. I am not taking about entitled people who born into it…I am talking about self starters, go-getters and assertive men and women who made their own money to begin with …these people are highly intelligent and they will only spend if they get value….
Great personality. Great video. Looking at bag Oh no the bag is too light. My purses are too heavy after i put what i need in that I leave stuff I need at home. Maybe I am weak. Light weight sounds really really good for me hahabut maybe without structure it would just fall apart on me. so thank you! I have more to think about now in terms of weight and structur *esluxscom*
The issue I have is that brands like Chanel are no longer asking people to pay for the quality of their items like back in the day. I get that there is the issue of exclusivity, but there is nothing you can say to me to make me pay Eur 8000 simply to be associated with a name. Like really, who are you?!?! Give me a high quality non-designer bag any day of the week! Quite frankly, if I really fall in love with any particular Chanel design, I would go to the *esluxscom* market because I do not see the value that Chanel or many of these luxury fashion houses offer. The fact that many authenticators do not authenticate more recent bags is proof of this in my eyes.
People say that counterfeiting products involve shady practices. Looking at the article Romina was talking about and how the people in Chanel making the bags was like a sweatshop...so now what's the difference anymore?
The shockingly poor treatment of workers may be the same, sadly. But the key difference is who profits from the sale of the bags. In the case of Chanel, it’s W brothers. They pile profits on profits in their accounts then - act like other billionaires. 🙄 The counterfeiters take THEIR profits and use them directly to fund human trafficking, illegal weapons trade, terrorism, etc. 😰 I’ve lost respect for Chanel but are they better moral actors than a counterfeit ring/organized crime syndicate? “Yes.” They pass that low, low bar. Should we feel great about giving our money to any of them at this point?! That’s another question.
Selling someone $100 worth of materials and labor for $20,000 is a shady practice. These companies have absolutely no moral high ground to stand on. They're actually more morally reprehensible than the counterfeiters.
I bought a preloved bag rather than use a fake. I bought the fake but couldn’t bring myself to use it. I enjoy the quality of a nice product plus I like knowing that it’s a form of recycling. I could care less about the store experience. For myself. Do what you are comfortable doing. Love the video.
At a high-end gathering, I noticed that more and more women began to pay attention to personality and stories rather than simple brand labels. It was this *gtdupe* that helped me find the bag that suits my taste and personality.
e😍😍😍 sides of the genuine product are also symmetrical, a symmetry that is only possible when stronger, more expensive materials are used to hold the shape. The chain is also a telltale sign of a replica, especially the sound, weight and sheen of the chain *gtdupe* Some have a more textured finish than the genuine product.
Love*preluxz* the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the bag. I don't think any other RUclipsr can show off bags in as much detail as you.
It is such an interesting topic! I used to buy counterfeit goods back in high school because I simply could not afford what I wanted. It was aspirational, and if i could spend 30 dollars to get something i was after, sure, why not? Now, 95% of my wardrobe is authentic pieces, just keeping the pieces I brought way back when and they're still in good shape and will use them occasionally since I did buy them. There is a sense of achievement in being able to get the authentic pieces and I stick with that now ♥. I think one of the biggest arguments against counterfeits is that it takes business away from the brands, but i disagree. Back in high school, I was never going to be able to go to Louis Vuitton and buy a bag, so they weren't losing revenue by me purchasing a fake. People that will buy counterfeits most likely won't be buying authentic anyway, and it really is just a personal choice. Cost of living crisis is huge across the world as well, and I can see why people are after a quick fix. Great video as always
I heard LV doesn't even do authentication anymore because the quality of the fakes is just that good. I actually don't mind if someone buys a fake because that's their money, and to be honest, it's probably smarter financially. *gtdupe* , do what's best for you anyway, and it's nobody's business whether your bag is real or fake as long as you don't try to resell it as the real thing.
Great video as always! Your comment about influencers wearing counterfeit bags to accentuate outfits really struck me - I personally don’t have an interest in counterfeits but there is a big crowd for these products and as an “influencer” I do believe those folks have a responsibility to be open and honestly if the bags aren’t real. I feel the same about gifted bags. Because there are people watching, consuming content, trying to buy these items at the same frequency as an influencer to stay “on trend” all the while not realizing that those people are carrying something a fraction of the price (or free). It’s deceptive and perpetuates an unsustainable lifestyle for many. I try to advocate for people to use common sense and not allow themselves to be influenced by social media but I also know it affects all of us in one form or another. Especially those who are just starting their luxury journeys.
I agree with this, people need to be honest if something is gifted, consuming a lot of influencer lifestyle content can have negative effects in my opinion
*esluxscom* shopping etiquette. Explaining what the general rules are, how to approach an SA, how to dress, how stores may differ. Something like a step-by-step for newbies (like me) who feel out of their depth. The thing I worry about an the awkward moment when I've spent 20mins drooling over a bag just to turn and leave empty-handed. Idk what to say! Maybe that sounds dumb but I'm so awkward, I don't want to come off as rude or uncomfortable, it's not their fault I'm an anxious mess.
I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags...so more people choose fashionable ex-Luxcon bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things *preluxscom*
My friend is one of those women who can definitely afford the original version (and has it), but recently told me about a high imitation called *hotdups*
If you think counterfeit goods are only for poor people, think again. Rich women spend tens or even hundreds of thousands on an expensive bag, while some fashionistas spend only one tenth to one tenth of these prices. The result of counterfeit goods is that the money saved can be deposited into their own bank accounts, so that these women can achieve financial independence while keeping up with the trends. Thank you very much *gtdupe* !!!
Before I went for my birkin bag I 100% bought a fake to see how I liked the bag how I did carrying it etc. I wore that bag for 6 months, mind you it was from an ig seller so it was good quality. It solidified my justification for the real birkin purchase.
@@katemiller7874 with these prices I find anyone who does this to be smart. Unless you’re buying just to be on trend most of us will keep the bag we get for years. So I find it logical to buy a fake for a few hundred dollars to see if you truly like the bag and if it works with your life. I’ve passed that fake bag on to 7 different people all who knew it was fake but wanted to use it for the exact reasons I did, to see if the real one would be worth it. And for anyone reading not all fakes are from some child “moving” (don’t want the comment to get flagged) company, you can get some good ones on ig that people make themselves.

Counterfeiting is a crime and is often connected to some very shady practices. I love handbags, I love LV monogram bags but we live in difficult times. There are so many beautiful bags available for a more affordable price than the, quite frankly, outrageous price of some counterfeit items. I would rather have a more affordable bag that I love than wear a fake bag and support illegal practices. P.s...this is a really interesting topic, thanks for discussing 😊. Just my thoughts on the matter. X
" connected to some shady practices " there was no proof of this other than that ted talk guy who worked in tommy hilfiger. if theres real evidence of this ill believe lol
Good for you. I own enough authentic handbags and nobody gives a fuck that they’re authentic. So I’m gonna put my hard earned money toward real estate and enjoy my replicas.
Unfortunately, security is a bit of a dubious factor in this case. A few years ago, a young man was killed at the beach in Amsterdam when someone tried to steal his Rolex, which turned to be fake. It’s a sad story. Thieves have no idea (at the first glance) whether the item is real or fake - both situations are dangerous. Buying fake doesn’t impact your security in my opinion, you are still under fire; but on the other hand, it can save plenty of money that you can spend elsewhere.
Love your videos Amelia! So if counterfeits are becoming so incredibly perfect compared to the original bag in materials and workmanship then it has to be said that is a very very expensive price to pay to enjoy the instore experience of buying an original bag. You quoted £9000 for that Chanel so about £8500 for the experience?
Thank you for talking about the return policy. I recently bought a felicie on the website and when it showed up at my door it was BEAT TO H*LL. Someone clearly used and abused it before returning. It had a huge crease down the side, the corners were bulging from being over stuffed, and the glazing was chipping *esluxs*
This whole luxury thing is just like anything else - it should be fun but instead it's so complicated and that complexity is huge as well - anything from personal financial security guilt to people starving in third world countries to complex e-commerce issues and child labor I have a headache lol
So true! I think it is still a lot of fun for me but every so often a conversation comes along that is a little bit grittier and I enjoy tackling those too
I'm all about saving money, especially when it comes to fashion. That's why I love #hidups their bags are so affordable, but you wouldn't know it from the quality. They're the perfect way to get that designer look without the price tag.
I agree with the comment about wanting to feel safe. But rather than carrying a fake I’ve chosen to buy mostly preloved bags with wear and tear or I stick to the ‘cheaper’ designer bags (Ferragamo or Gucci). Then I’m not carrying something that’s worth $10k unless I feel comfortable doing so. With preloved bags I’m the kind of person who loves the less popular colours and doesn’t mind some signs of wear so I can often find a relative bargain.
The guilt is so real. I once bought a pre loved and later found out I was scammed and it was fake. I cried and pushed to the back of the closet. But then I used it after 2 years of sitting because I regretted spending the money for nothing so much. I used it for 2 years and then it was broken so I threw it away. I only own about 2-3 bags at a time and only buy new to replace the worn out/ broken one. I don’t want to go down that road again.
But the quality of these luxury bags is going down while prices are going up. Chanel is garbage now. It is. Garbage. Low, crappy quality for extremely high prices. I don’t buy fakes but I would never buy an authentic Chanel. Never. I think I’m being snowed in buying authentic bags. I do.
I’ve never bought fake designer bags ever and never will. I normally buy high street brands or less known Italian brands. A relative of mine bought a fake LV bag and faced an embarrassing incident where the handle popped off 😂😂😂😂
I think you bring up so many good points! I know a very wealthy woman who buys fakes to make sure she loves it before she invests thousands of dollars. My gramma used to leave her real jewelry at home and wear fake jewelry when she traveled. I can see that as a valid reason to get replica bags too.
Fakes just drive me nuts, I just personally can't justify it. As a music composer being in the "creative" world, it's just another form of theft to me. It's stealing just because you want the look, is essentially what it boils down to. Regardless of security, insurance etc, you are buying that bag because you want the look of that bag. I see at least one fake neverfull a day in belfast, it's initially why I was so put off buying them. It just screams tacky to me, regardless of one's circumstances. Perhaps it's narrow minded, or it's just having honest morals, some may think it's a grey area but I just don't. You're stealing a design by buying counterfeit, and were it literally anything else other than "fashion", it would be so much more heavily persecuted against. It's theft!
You are absolutely not narrow minded. It is a fact that they steal intellectual property by creating counterfeit goods. I will not support ever buying one. If you have money and you think real chanel purses will expose you to burglary then why buy fake? Just buy no name or names that you think are safe.
I mean I live in Asia and next to China. That’s why you can easily buy fakes at around 15$. And to be honest most people especially elders or middle age people don’t even care about designer stuff. Just because that’s what people sell at the local market and I think they like how it looks so they buy it. Younger generation is a little bit obsessed with lux because it makes them feel worthy. I quoted from TV News. And because they can’t afford it with minimum wage (around 600$ a month) they buy fakes. I think the whole situation is sad because they spend money where it is not necessary and have little to none saving. But in other countries I heard replicas can cost about 300-400$ for a Chanel bag and normally priced at 11% of the original. And I think that is so silly. They literally can buy some decent stuff like Coach with that price already. In some cases they complain about price increase but somehow still drop a lot of money on fake. That means it was the brand they were after. They don’t actually want good affordable products. Weird.
I can’t afford any ultra luxury handbags right now but I wouldn’t knowingly buy a counterfeit one. I just started following a new seller on Instagram who was offering beautiful LV, Gucci, Burberry handbags. I inquired about a large pochette (men’s travel pouch I think) and I was quoted $290 and I told them that sounded really cheap for an LV large accessory that should be at least $1000. They then offered it for $270 and I was like nah, these have to be fake goods. I don’t know if the photos were of genuine goods and they were going to do a bait and switch or not. Either way, I said no. Another reason folks could be buying fake Chanel is because their quality isn’t what it used to be and the fakes are better made perhaps. Great take on this subject, Amelia Rose.
The reality is: if you're rich and famous, your *hotdups* bags are seen as a sign of success. If you are just an ordinary worker working a 9-to-5 job, your real bag is likely to be considered the fruit of your efforts.
It's only counterfeit if they try to pass it off as genuine. If they sell it as a copy then it's a replica. Kinda like when a painting has orints made and sold. They are not claiming to be an original. Art got accessible to EVERYONE even prints became a thing and it was no longer necessary to own the original when everyone could own a copy, and lots of them. Watch the movie Big Eyes. It's based on true events. Part of the story is about the original artwork but then they starting selling prints of the originals. Prlints of the original are only counterfeit if someone is trying to pass them off as a genuine original crafted piece. So there is a market for replicas and a market for originals. For me, I cannot possibly buy ALL of the originals I would love to have. I CAN buy lots of replicas I would love to have though. And if the craftsmanship is really nice, why would I not want a Chanel and a Kelly in ALL the colors? An LV in all the styles and colors. Imagine! You can still have your originals if you like while instead of just one or two this year, I can switch out my bags based on my mood too. Even wealthy women can see the value in that. I have worked in banking since 1990. Trust me, the wealthy DO see value in high quality replicas even while they have some originals highly guarded. Imagine doing this with jewelry too. It's well known that having authentic originals under high security while wearing a replica to a party actually gives the the best of both worlds at a big event. If a replica is stolen, it's not as big of an issue.
Real wealthy people dont need to proove their status by logos so they wouldnt care you think they carry a fake or real. On the other hand, people who claim to love the bag „because of the craftmanship and history” but bother by people asking is it real or not, only is a proof they carry for showing status . I personally prefer people think its a fake, for my own safety.
I love my bags but I'm afraid to wear them lately cuz of security. I have people asking if my jewelry and bags are real. I tell them they are fake even though they are real. I rather have them think I'm wearing a fake than being a target. I know who I am and I don't need to tell the world everything. I'm not rich at all but I do have a few nice things. I'm back and forth with the counterfeit items so I let people do as they see fit for them.
Okay, I've always been scratching my head about *preluxscom* obsession with school bags and their practicality, but this video is adorable! Congratulations
I grew up in NYC and would always watch the park avenue type of women purchasing the same fakes from the street vendor. Do what you please with your money
@@tara_nguyen oops that’s me, I cannot stand fakes or people passing them off as real. I’d rather carry around my humble Longchamp Le Pliage every day of the year than ever ever wear anything fake. But it’s down to personal ethics and morals I suppose. Some people are happy to lie and steal…
@@ritafernandes7218 I actually have real bags and fake bags, some bags are just nit worth the money for me, yet I like the look. However, I do tell people they are fake. I don't pass them on as real. But that's my personal opinion. I couldn't lie about it.
For me personally is about enjoying the look. Not all bags for me are worth the money they are priced at. Having said that, I do buy both real and good fakes/dupes made with quality that I do buy because I won't spend the $$$ on the real one. I don't, however, agree with lying about them being real, I immediately say it's a fake, and I don't believe in selling them passing on as real. That is the deceit I don't agree with. I do find it hipocritical, that some of the luxury youtubers lecture on buying fakes because of the working conditions and supposively tied to human trafficking, however, those same people supported balenciaga in their sexual abuse of children campaign. Am not saying you were one of them, but many did, and refused to take a stance against the brand.
All fair points, i don’t think there’s anything wrong with a personal choice to buy fakes for your personal use, i think it’s everyones personal choice. I also agree on the balenciaga scandal, and have spoken on it. I also agree it is different when sold on knowingly deceitful
@@ameliarosescloset yes, it's a deceit that I dislike. Also, I have found bags on Etsy with great quality that look like the real deal, and are made with exotics, but don't carry the logo making them fakes. They are dupes and I enjoy those also. Brands copy off each other all the time. The lower end brands do this all of the time too. So it's not necessarily a bad thing, just gives us options. But tricking people they are real is what I would never do. When I wear a fake, and it gets complimented or noticed, I immediately say it's a fake. And I have never resold any either.
I completely agree with you. Further, when rich girls who come from rich families in the Middle East carry fake bags, no one will suspect that they’re carrying counterfeit bags😂😂😂
The security reason is a bit nonsensical to me. Buying a fake will not stop people from seeing you as a target, and you are still losing money if the item gets stolen. If you are paying for a secure facility where things are locked up then you are still spending a ton of money on that and insurance. The keeping up reasoning is the only one that truly makes sense to me. A lot of the really wealthy people I know could not care less about the social ramifications of buying counterfeits. Additionally, they may look down their nose at the "rubes" who would spend that kind of money to buy a ridiculously overpriced bag which no longer signifies a rarefied social status. As the luxury brands raise their prices and limit their stock once again, we may see the very wealthy gravitate back to the real items. Personally, I am against counterfeits. I buy luxury goods because I appreciate the art, craftsmanship, and beauty behind them. I am also opposed to stealing intellectual property, even if it is from a billion dollar company.
Agree. Same. ❤ After last insane quality drop vs price increase I promise myself to gift myself a cool fake for a Christmas. 😂 The rest will put on an investment account. Quiet luxury in action 😊
Can I just say before I absolutely despise fakes……you have the best followers. 99% of us all feel the same…..I haven’t had a single bit of rage as I normally see folk saying ‘you do you’ etc etc after such videos 😂 I think we all seem to know right from wrong and I don’t even need to go into my normal comment on such a topic eg counterfeiting supports organised crime groups eg violence, drugs, people trafficking etc etc. Everyone just gets it. Personally I rather not contribute to such a world xx
Great video! I agree with your point about buying fakes for personal safety reason, especially when travelling. Getting mugged on holiday is traumatic enough ,getting mugged with a genuine bag is even worse. It makes sense to me to travel with a fake bag and not carry anything of value that you will miss. Also if you get your bag damaged with dirt, stain, accidents, whatever it is , it won't matter if it's a fake. The other factor is when you love a seasonal design but it is impossible to get hold of it because you were too late, it's sold out etc... in which case I'd be tempted by a good replica. I buy vintage because realistically i haven't got the budget, but its more like a time consuming hobby and it takes effort to find the right bag and be prepared to clean it , restore it etc... I understand it's not for everyone and I don't judge people who choose to buy replicas.
You look so comfy .Also, I really loved your older video guide to shopping in NYC - it'd be great if you continued that series for other places.for example, I'm on the outskirts of London but I'm new to *esluxscom* shopping so I don't know where I'm going and for what things I am shopping in my own city.

For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the*preluxz* as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
I don’t buy fake bags only because I don’t want to disrespect the designers and artisans who put so much effort into their work. If I can’t really afford one I’ll either leave it as the dream or find a secondhand one.
I agree with your stance on counterfeits. You don't fight one mafia clan (the likes of Chanel and other fashion houses with their obscene prices) by enabling another mafia clan (the counterfeiters), particularly not with the knowledge of them using child labour and all sorts of disgusting practices. Although I'm not too sure the original brands do not make use of that as well...
Great video Amelia. Some excellent points and reasons why people may choose to go that route. I had no idea about the fake art. But it completely makes sense. Wonder why that’s not frowned upon but fake bags are?
Beautiful blouse! It looks great on you! Wealthy people are often more careful with their money than middle class people. It's how they got that way, and they're obsessed with wealth preservation.
My opinion is, buy non branded or non pricey well made purses. However, I will never support counterfeiting. It is also illegal to sell counterfeit where I live so buying it will mean I am supporting criminals.
Counterfeit bags is a separate industry just like many other illegal businesses unfortunately. I’ve visited places in Shanghai and HongKong and India where there are tons of these bags sold openly. It’s sad. I don’t think there is any justification for buying those bags especially if you are rich. I realized a long time ago that I am happy to buy good quality contemporary bags instead. Now I buy luxury bags and it’s for my pleasure not to show off to people. No one in my circle cares about what I’m wearing.
I own both, and I only take fakes to central London as I am scared of getting mugged. Also the quality of fakes are fantastic and long lasting, some you can't tell the fake and real ones apart.
Being rich doesn't mean you'll just throw money away. Most people, no matter how wealthy, don't want to just waste money for no reason. If you can get the exact same quality bag with the exact same materials for 80% less, who wouldn't? Especially with the rise of "superfakes" (that are exactly the same as an authentic in every sense) there simply isn't any reason to spend more on an authentic.
100% agree. Rather have the real thing & less bags. I would feel super awkward carrying a fake. there are plenty of nice leather bags that are not designer that look great and style well. I still wear most of them , however I will wear my few designer ones when I want to feel special. I know I will never have a closet full in all the colors but the ones I have mean something to me since I was able to work for them. Great video
I don’t care how good the fakes are. I would never buy one - I would know it’s fake and that’s all that matters- who cares what other people think 💃🏻 If I couldn’t buy the real thing I would rather go and buy a good high quality unbranded leather bag 💯
I agree. I couldn't buy fake. And I especially couldn't try and pass it off as real. Once you go with the real thing, you know quality and craftsmanship. Not to mention, that's just not me.
14:56 Now we are coming onto something. As someone who could by LV, DG and other stupid things when I was a teenager, I really don't have the sense of brand. I love the look of Chanel, just love it, if they made a mens line, I would be in trouble, but for me the brand does not exist, the only reason why I would not buy something is because I see it on people I don't like. Negative association. So for me, it is about value for money. Do I like this bag, sure, is it a good value? If it is not a good value I am not buying anything, not even a pack of gum. The "arrival" definitely never had, like OMG finally.
I wonder with hearing about Chanel's quality issues, if the fake ones are better in terms of how well they are made. Although wealthy or not i dont believe in fakes, I would never get one I would just live in constant fear of being called out
I stick with my Prada nylon fanny pack, or I prefer an older fanny pack. But you were the first person who made me really love this awesome travel bag. It fits inside like a small bag*aceluxs*
I know a rich girl who has both real and fake bags. I can't tell the difference. She told me that something she wanted got sold out so she brought a fake
I really wanted your colourful Fendi baguette and I saw what must’ve been counterfeits on Vinted for £400 or £500. I would’ve loved to get one, but was worried that it’d turn up and be horribly plastic and fake looking. That sort of money is still a lot for me to lose so I never bought one.
Don’t judge me … but I bought that multicolored F baguette from DH Gate for about $50 … and it looks exactly like Amelia’s bag. That said, I’ve shifted seat from buying replicas because of the ethical issues and have returned to buying contemporary designers like Coach, Patricia Nash and Kate Spade. But I don’t shy away from dupes - designer inspired bags that aren’t pretending to be the real thing.
@@annied3315 Thank you for the information. I’ll look up that company and see if they still have that type of bag. For me, it doesn’t have to be an exact copy, I’d be very happy with a replica that looks similar.
I always buy authentic LV and GUcci. And it feels good buying from LV because of the experience …I got a high quality for 400$ and I realize I will never buy a certain brand bag for 9K.. the price increases are ridiculous.
@@ameliarosescloset I mean they can pretend all they want, because that is still in the realm of “their business” but if they try to sell it, that’s messed up lol
Sorry but in my opinion, the onus is on the fashion houses to address these shady practices mostly because their quality is getting poorer and the prices are getting higher. It literally makes NO sense to pay 10k+ for bag you can't distinguish from a fake.
Great video walking though possible reasons. I do not intentionally buy counterfeits but I have received from scammers who offered for me to keep the items instead of incurring return shipping charges. I hate scammers 😡
I have most originals and some copies. I will no longer be buying lux handbags or even their copies. I am just done! No one can afford to buy a new home, pay off student debts, even credit card debts is up. Everything is just getting expensive. Honestly, I am even afraid to wear my wedding ring out because things are getting horrible.
Times are definitely getting very difficult, I’m sorry to hear things are at the stage you are scared to wear your ring, do you mind me asking where you are based?
Plus the fact that these luxury bags keep on increasing price yet degrading the quality! There more concentrated on their price rather than their qualities nowadays!
Why wouldn't they? It's very smart and that's likely how they stay rich. Letting someone con you into spending 10,000% of an item's value because of a little logo it just makes you a complete sucker. If you fall for it you're getting completely played by someone smarter than yourself.
I have both real and fakes. I have zero plan in selling the reps and if people ask me I am honest. I have saved thousands and thousands but still get to enjoy the "luxury experience." Also I will use these rep bags long before I reach for the bags that were expensive!
@@ameliarosescloset Actually i used to own a consignment store where ppl were trying to pass fakes all the time. I know my bags and know what to look for and these bags are damn near spot on if you get them from the right people. there is a huge diffrence in a faje off of dhgate and the ones that i have been getting.
Security! I have a dollar limit on accessories in general. My personal safety, my family’s safety, my friends’ safety, our homes, the handbag itself and the items inside the handbag are important to me. I don’t buy fakes nor will I use a fake in-place of the original. I’m okay with inspirational pieces.
I’m against fakes and can’t help it! I know it’s fake and that’s all that matters to me. I also think carrying fake items can still be as dangerous as carrying authentic items. The burglar wouldn’t know until it’s too late. Also if people are upset about ridiculous price increases then they should not want to carry that brand even the fake version of it.
Have already comtemplated getting one for me ( the classic flap) but so afraid and where can I get those super fakes? Instead of spending 10k + in a bag nowadays, I personally prefer to use this money for a nice family vacation where the experience and time are priceless.
when Gucci did the collaboration with Sega. It was spelled Guccy on the bag with a Y not an I . It was done on purpose. lol I loved it so much I bought the large crossbody in black with gold lettering. The quality of the leather and sound of the zipper opening and closing eased my soul lol. Well in public I would get laughed at. Everyone thought it was a bad fake because it was misspelled. Whispers in the store , lol no matter where I went. One time I had to remind someone if they were truly a Gucci fan they would have known about the collab. Long story short, I really didn’t care what people thought. I knew it was real. But lol it was getting ridiculous in public, so I started carrying it backwards. If you’re an introvert this bag is not for you.
I am so passionate about this topic...... If you have money and you think real chanel purses will expose you to burglary then why buy fake? As far as potential burglars, it is still chanel and it is not that the burglars will bring Authenticators to check your purses before deciding to rob you. If you are a business owner and you think it is cool to buy counterfeit then wait until someone steal your intellectual property or ideas.
I don't think it's possible to believe that high-quality, expensive replicas are made by children under difficult working conditions, it's not possible. For cheap fakes, this is most likely real.
I've heard that the high quality ones source from the same places the real ones do and then get skilled workers in cheap markets like India and China to make them
I would go to the *esluxscom* to buy a purse. I wouldn't buy it over the store. I would be too afraid of getting cheated. Great video . Thank you for the knowledge. Congratulations on your expanding family
Not only are the prices going up but the quality of the authentics are going down, thats why people are buying vintage authentic, the leathers, hardwear etc are now cheaper quality so there make even more money from consumers.
I’m not super wealthy, however I know and am fortunate to be friends with super super wealthy individuals here in my country. They’re all captains of their respective industries , very humble people (who happen to own Ferrari , their own private helicopters, because that’s what you do when you also happen to have a pilots’ licence and Hermes) -- none of them, not a single one, would ever buy anything fake or consort with those who sell that sh*t.
Oh thank you for sharing that, that was the view i would have held before the cut article and the comments i got, i kind of assumed they wouldn’t, but it seems quite a few do which surprised me
This ! A truly wealthy person has multiple assets a five thousand dollar bag is like spare change. I see people trying to spin this narrative thst isn’t true. You seen people upstate New York shopping buying counterfeits? Like what how would you know if they were rich ? They could be low or middle income living in a rental paycheck to paycheck and own virtually nothing.
AMELIA, I am going to make another point here that may sting a little bit. I mean no disrespect. I am sure that you are a natural British red head. However, is your hair right now counterfeit? Or is it perhaps a copy of your original color that you are simply keeping touched up? Your face. Is that ALL original, or did you touch up with some makeup to accentuate features? Would you call your hair and face fake counterfeits because you are wearing makeup, using hair products? We need to stop being so harsh on each other. Using the words fake and counterfeit are meant to put each other down when some women don't want to play the game when you stop want to. There is a market now for replicas, prints, and spinoffs. It's not going away. Use it to your advantage. Start calling it what it is. If someone tries to sell a Kelly for $20k and it's not an authentic original Kelly then that is counterfeit. If someone sells a very nice version of a Kelly for $300 and telling you it's a nice replica, that's NOT a counterfeit or fake. It's literally a replica of the original.
I have a mix of replicas and real bags. I buy real bags when I need them for travel or daily use and fakes for the ones I use on special occasions lll. I buy bags to use them, not collect them. I find that ppl who purchase expensive bags are so scared to get any scratches on it so they don't wear them- wheres the enjoyment in that...
What is BS is standing in line and buying thousands of dollars of crap you don't really want in order to "MAYBE" get "offered" a bag that isn't the color or leather you ACTUALLY WANT, and then feel you MUST pay TONS OF MONEY for this POS you normally wouldn't choose in a million years! I'd rather get a AAA Replica......
To me its simple. Rich people are rich because they know how to manage their money very well 😂 they know spending 10k in a bag is nuts and their money would be better off invested in the stock market. They dont need to feel part of a community with a social status because they belong to it. I personally wouldnt buy fakes from any brand except Hermes. Why Hermes? Because i hate how they play with their customers, i hate that game and i personally do not have any attachment or loyalty to the brand the same way i have for Chanel, Loewe, Celine, etc. and then you go to the preloved market and have to pay 4 times the price…for those who say they wouldn’t, if you could find a craftsman able to make a birkin, if you had access to buying the exact same Hermes leather, same hardware and pay usd 3k for it instead of 10k I highly doubt you wouldnt buy it due to morals 😂😂😂and then there is safety…no need to cry over a stolen bag and then there is genuine use, no need to worry if someone is going to spill a drink over your bag…how many birkins are kept inside a wardrobe by women afraid to use them? If you think it carefully, it does make sense to follow the rich women steps…
Agree re the buying of fakes - I don’t want to support organised crime or inhumane working conditions. I also buy bags for me, not for others so I want the real thing. If I can’t afford the original then I will just go without or reach for a different design from a more affordable brand. Before I was I to luxury I bought high street bags where I liked their design.
This is a great video. Question - where is the proof that children make bags or working conditions are terrible? I’m sure it’s true is some cases but I don’t think it’s any better in the authentic market. I don’t think workers for these brands are treated very well. Chanel apparently treats it’s factory workers horribly. Hermes pays their artisans 1,700 Euros a month. Who can live on that. These brands also manufacture their goods in poorer countries then put finishing touches on their bags in France, Spain or Italy then slap the “Made in” label on it. Even those working in those counties aren’t French, Italian or Spanish. They are mostly Eastern European and Chinese who work for much less. We’re all being snowed. Big time. I don’t buy fakes but I’m seriously thinking of doing it.
People will forever be profiled for originals and counterfeit bags, etc. Measures for counter theft is paramount. Ultimately it’s a continuing catch-22. 👜👜👜
something my dad has always said is 'just because you can doesn't mean you should' in terms of this fakes situation I believe that it means that while yes we can afford these things, there is little reason to when the fakes are now good quality in a lot of cases, and they perform the same way the real does. And on top of this the wealthy prefer to spend their money on things such as fine jewellery as they will have a return on their investment inn most cases.
Not just wealthy people but money-conscious people buy high-end replica designer bags. They all simply understand the value of money. I was in Istanbul recently, and you could find absolutely gorgeous replica bags, including Chanel & Hermes. You are offered tea, coffee, and water when you talk to the salesperson. You get better customer service than some of the high-end brand stores.
They always mess up the painted edges with overpaint, such a pity. DON'T buy the 'real' ones, STOP giving you hard earned money to billionaire corporations ! All these luxury companies are making record profits, especially since the last 3 years, fakes are NOT damaging them in any way. A women wearing a *esluxs* is still advertising the real thing in the eyes of most people.
I can buy pretty much couple of Chanel’s or Hermes a month, but I am buying much cheaper bags. I don’t want to worry about bags being stolen, damaged etc. same about cars - I want to drive my dog to the beach. I already bought CZ wedding ring after I lost my real diamond one. I would better give money to charity, I would better pay medical bills for my parents, I would better save etc etc, then spend on a bag. I want my bag to serve me and not vice versa. And for me $1k makes difference from $10k. If I were super rich I would buy those bags. I am not
I can see your point on protecting against thief’s if you had the real thing. The counterfeit bags are full of unsafe and none regulated chemical though and they can be really dangerous to someone’s health. I just wouldn’t take the risk with it period. I have some designer bags I can’t pay full price because I don’t have that kinda money yet but I adore preloved bags the real thing just used and own by someone before you. Here’s many sites online that sell preloved bags. There’s The Real Real, Vestiaire collective and others these are just the two I’ve bought from and they have good authentication process to make sure none of there items are fakes.
my issue with the fake is they are expensive for what they are worth. there is no resale value for them. if you buy fake for $500, it is $0 at the end but if i buy original for $8k, it will remain same plus if you love it, you have forever piece in your collection. If i started buying fake, it will become fast fashion with so much wastage. i love luxury because you think and buy.
I bought a canvas LV with my first bonus. The purse cracked/broke in a number of places in less than 2 years, it was just pieces of cheap plastic hanging off. The store refused to repair or replace it. I have no idea what kind of resale value a piece of crap like that could possibly have. I ended up donating it to the local shelter and I'll never buy another LV again...well, maybe a counterfeit LV I might, but these designers/robber barons aren't getting another penny out of me.
i have some great fakes in my collection but the last three fakes i ordered were awful! so many sites use pictures of real bags and have 1000's of fake reviews! im glad i have the ones i do but in the future i will be saving for the real thing🦋🖤🦋
This can be said about most companies yet most people support the brand . Also where is the mistreatment coming from ? Upper level ? Muddle management ? Sales? All of this plays a factor.
@@NA-fz7me Luxury companies use sweat shops too not just counterfeit factories. Paying £10000 for a handbag does not mean staff are not getting exploited.
I have always wanted to Own a Cartier Wrist watch, just without the eye-watering price-tag that it comes with. So, in that token, I went out and bought a Replica Cartier Ballon Bleu for a fraction of the original price and i love it! in Theory, yes, I do have the money to buy the original, but I don't know that I would have the confidence to walk out in public with the genuine article. Rather a thief snatches a fake off my wrist!
@@ameliarosescloset yes , for me too … I have worked very hard and put myself through 11 years of college education to be able to afford my bags … I remember setting my labtop screen to a chanel bag photo to motivate me to study and get through residency .. and so now walking into a store and actually buying the bags gives me that sense of achievement and accomplishment and thats why I love buying luxury .. i know so many wealthy people that buy and wear counterfeit for all the reasons u mentioned , bc to them its not about the sense of accomplishment or achievement
Having a counterfeit bag, no matter HOW good it is, does NOT feel the same to me as an authentic bag does. I have one super fake that's phenomenal quality and i don't say that lightly bc i know designer luxury. Although i love that bag and it was 100% worth the 450$, the rest of my bags are authentic, and they are much more special to me than the fake. A lot of ppl get into the high they get when they find/receive a counterfeit that is just as good as the authentic version. It's like going to bargain shops and hitting the jackpot. It's the hunt that a lot of the rich enjoy.. at least that's what I've heard from the weathy ppl who buy super fakes. Keep in mind, these super fakes are not 300$... the Hermès super fakes that are leather, etc. Are around 1000$. They are made so well that even authentication is difficult. I've never seen one in person, but I've seen women talk about them on repladies
nonsense, ALL genuine leather fakes mirror replicas call them what you want are mostly $250 and under, some biggest Hermes and such can go for $280 to $350 but it’s rare Small bags around hundred, bigger bags twice that much, there’s nothing more to it. All of them, I have private sellers sending me catalogues for years, they are priced according to amount of leather used. I don’t buy them but I work with those sellers in creating my own brand bag with built in weapons holster / pepper spray pocket etc we have combat & tactics company & this goes along our merch line ❤ also coming from now 3rd generation fashion makers family I can tell ya, all items are priced first for material costs, second the labor used, third taxes and fourth the retail buyers markup that’s mostly 1500% markup at the very minimum, thus buying from the Chinese makes sense and their prices are appropriate to their materials and labor used skipping the retail, and their taxes are their own (communist) business
What really puts me off buying fakes is the fact how these bag cartels operate. Quite the same as drug cartels really. Prostitution, slavery, people traffic etc. I don't want to fuel any shady businesses. I was quite shocked to learn this but ever since I've been reading about this, fakes have just become a big NONONO for me. Although it can be tempting of course. 😅
LVMH stock (appx $190 p.s.) is up $15 from two weeks ago. I'd rather make a bit of Bernard's money than the other way around. Long term stock holding is like passive income. Reps all the day long!
In 2016, I paid over 5 grand for the LV Capucines. I went to visit my sister and hung out with a friend of hers whose husband is a well-known known surgeon. This friend had the same handbag and disclosed to me that it was a fake. I was floored and haven't purchased a high-end handbag since
Oh my, could you tell the difference?
Where did you get it from?
I’ve brought a fake in the past, I’ve never been able to afford designer brands and probably never will but I can dream. I’m 36 and nicest place I’ve ever brought bags from is *suluxs* lol 😂
@@ameliarosescloset No difference whatsoever
@DaisyWyble I believe it.
I know wealthy women that carry replicas. The predominant reason they give is that they simply understand the value of money and don’t want to spend so much on a bag… especially trendy ones. They do, however, spend plenty of money on fine jewelry and other things.
This is really interesting!
Exactly. I’m sure understanding that value was a quality that helped them gain their wealth in the first place so they still have that outlook
I still love my LV reverse monogram yt: *preluxs* clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
The variety of textures in the *preluxscom* pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
From the packaging to the details of the bags, I think the *preluxscom* shop has made reproduction an art form.
i have both real bags and high quality fakes and not gona lie... you cannot tell the difference. i think even rich ladies are just sick of these chanel prices.
i don't think i have ever seen a really good fake

I’ve been tempted because I’m a black man and I often get asked if my bags are fake. People just assume immediately that they are. So I’ve thought why do I bother spending so much on these bags? I have yet to buy a fake but I do see why people do it.
Thank you for giving this insight, and I’m sorry there are still racist t***s in the world x
Lol, I'm Asian 🤣 they just assume I have fakes
I’m a white lady and I still get asked if my bags are real. I don’t think it matters. People have a curiosity

I am not taking about entitled people who born into it…I am talking about self starters, go-getters and assertive men and women who made their own money to begin with …these people are highly intelligent and they will only spend if they get value….
very true, they make smart financial decisions
Great personality. Great video. Looking at bag Oh no the bag is too light. My purses are too heavy after i put what i need in that I leave stuff I need at home. Maybe I am weak. Light weight sounds really really good for me hahabut maybe without structure it would just fall apart on me. so thank you! I have more to think about now in terms of weight and structur *esluxscom*
I have and love the *esluxscom* in the same colour and have the marmont in the small in the velvet. Judith is on my list.
This is my first (but not the last) purchase of *preluxscom* bag.
People say that counterfeiting products involve shady practices. Looking at the article Romina was talking about and how the people in Chanel making the bags was like a sweatshop...so now what's the difference anymore?
i need to read this article
The shockingly poor treatment of workers may be the same, sadly. But the key difference is who profits from the sale of the bags.
In the case of Chanel, it’s W brothers. They pile profits on profits in their accounts then - act like other billionaires. 🙄
The counterfeiters take THEIR profits and use them directly to fund human trafficking, illegal weapons trade, terrorism, etc. 😰
I’ve lost respect for Chanel but are they better moral actors than a counterfeit ring/organized crime syndicate? “Yes.” They pass that low, low bar.
Should we feel great about giving our money to any of them at this point?! That’s another question.
Selling someone $100 worth of materials and labor for $20,000 is a shady practice. These companies have absolutely no moral high ground to stand on. They're actually more morally reprehensible than the counterfeiters.
*hidups* in my opinion has most quality real leather bags in europe.
If you are one of us, addicted to yt: *preluxs* this show, please gather here
I bought a preloved bag rather than use a fake. I bought the fake but couldn’t bring myself to use it. I enjoy the quality of a nice product plus I like knowing that it’s a form of recycling. I could care less about the store experience. For myself. Do what you are comfortable doing. Love the video.
i love a preloved bag!
What do you think of *gtdupe* 's new products this month? I'd love to know which one you like best! My favorite is still the most classic one.
Thank you! I think it’s interesting as well!
The variety of textures in the pack *gtdupe* is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
Oh i totally get this, checking the bag is for you before you spend all that money
Same for my first two Chanel’s. Had to make sure. I was new to the game. That was 20 years ago

My own personal view is the same x
" connected to some shady practices " there was no proof of this other than that ted talk guy who worked in tommy hilfiger. if theres real evidence of this ill believe lol
Good for you. I own enough authentic handbags and nobody gives a fuck that they’re authentic. So I’m gonna put my hard earned money toward real estate and enjoy my replicas.
On what occasion would you wear these bags? I love your collection. Like I love my *amzrepx*
You never know how cruel high brands spend their/our money.
I agree you could still be targeted when wearing a fake
Love your videos Amelia!
So if counterfeits are becoming so incredibly perfect compared to the original bag in materials and workmanship then it has to be said that is a very very expensive price to pay to enjoy the instore experience of buying an original bag. You quoted £9000 for that Chanel so about £8500 for the experience?
Exactly, and i think a lot more people are not willing to pay it. I won’t be buying another classic flap at the new price
I've been using it and neglecting it, but I'm impressed with the quality and timing *preluxs*
This whole luxury thing is just like anything else - it should be fun but instead it's so complicated and that complexity is huge as well - anything from personal financial security guilt to people starving in third world countries to complex e-commerce issues and child labor
I have a headache lol
In my opinion, no girl should spend less than $200 on a replica because the potential is huge. Leather, box, dust bag, *amzrepx* only.
I got this bag for my daughter for Christmas since she's been wanting one to replace her Colé Haan tote. If you could have heard her excitement. She was actually looking at the same bag to purchase. Winner, winner! *amzrepx*
*amzrepx* bag I love it so much, it sparkles in the sun, has so many positive reviews, can always wear it with any outfit!
The sad part is even when I buy authentic bags someone because I am African American will assume it’s fake.
It's disgusting that happens
Show them receipts when they ask
I don’t want to go down that road again.
i like unusual bags which can help on the preloved market
I buy luxury bags for the quality not because of the status. I buy them for ME. I would never own a fake! Thanks for the video!
Love this
But the quality of these luxury bags is going down while prices are going up.
A relative of mine bought a fake LV bag and faced an embarrassing incident where the handle popped off 😂😂😂😂
oh no!
😂at least it wasn't a real chanel one that lacks quality. It would be more painful tho
The real chanel also pop out the handle so not so embarassing as u think
The variety of textures in the *preluxscom* pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for
I think you bring up so many good points!
I know a very wealthy woman who buys fakes to make sure she loves it before she invests thousands of dollars.
My gramma used to leave her real jewelry at home and wear fake jewelry when she traveled. I can see that as a valid reason to get replica bags too.
i get nervous travelling with my real wedding set
I believe no girl can refuse *preluxs* .
It's theft!
I am talking about the amount of fake neverfulls in another video! Remember the fake mini kelly
Weird.
No honey, the real theft here is charging someone $10k for a fucken handbag. Please pull head out of ass. Thanks.
I watched a video of a girl who spent thousands on authentic goods and that shit still fell apart after only one wear! How stupid
There are so many dodgy sellers to be wary of, i think you made the right decision
If a replica is stolen, it's not as big of an issue.
very prevalent in the art world as well
Real wealthy people dont need to proove their status by logos so they wouldnt care you think they carry a fake or real. On the other hand, people who claim to love the bag „because of the craftmanship and history” but bother by people asking is it real or not, only is a proof they carry for showing status . I personally prefer people think its a fake, for my own safety.
the security point has been raised a lot
I love my bags but I'm afraid to wear them lately cuz of security. I have people asking if my jewelry and bags are real. I tell them they are fake even though they are real. I rather have them think I'm wearing a fake than being a target. I know who I am and I don't need to tell the world everything. I'm not rich at all but I do have a few nice things. I'm back and forth with the counterfeit items so I let people do as they see fit for them.
I have said a bag is fake before when it isn’t, i’m sorry it is getting to the stage you have to worry about this
You see I'm so offended when people equate my hard earned purchases to fakes. It's insulating. I guess I shouldn't personalize it any longer.
@@missqjulie i actually recorded a video on this today
Okay, I've always been scratching my head about *preluxscom* obsession with school bags and their practicality, but this video is adorable! Congratulations
I grew up in NYC and would always watch the park avenue type of women purchasing the same fakes from the street vendor. Do what you please with your money
Agree totally do what you please with your money, i find it really interesting those ladies bought the street vendor bags.
Agreed. But I hate those holier than thou people who look down on you for buying fakes.
@@tara_nguyen i think it has to he everyones personal choice
Further, when rich girls who come from rich families in the Middle East carry fake bags, no one will suspect that they’re carrying counterfeit bags😂😂😂
they just assume they are real
@@ameliarosescloset Exactly.
Oh interesting, there is a thought process this is why chanel are doing the crazy price increases, just like you said
Agree. Same. ❤ After last insane quality drop vs price increase I promise myself to gift myself a cool fake for a Christmas. 😂 The rest will put on an investment account. Quiet luxury in action 😊
Do you better in that account
If you are one of us, addicted to *preluxscom* this show, please gather here
Can I just say before I absolutely despise fakes……you have the best followers. Personally I rather not contribute to such a world xx
thank you x
I understand this a lot more from all of the comments, the risk of getting mugged is so real
I really love your content. The different discussions (without weekly unboxings) is very welcome 🧠👏🏼
thank you and i am enjoying it!
You look so comfy .Also, I really loved your older video guide to shopping in NYC - it'd be great if you continued that series for other places.for example, I'm on the outskirts of London but I'm new to *esluxscom* shopping so I don't know where I'm going and for what things I am shopping in my own city.
I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags...so more people choose fashionable ex-Luxcon bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things *preluxs*
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the*preluxz* as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
*gtdupe* The beauty of a bag tie is that you can tie it inside with their ribbons to customize it to your height.
I don’t buy fake bags only because I don’t want to disrespect the designers and artisans who put so much effort into their work. If I can’t really afford one I’ll either leave it as the dream or find a secondhand one.
There are so many good other options, rather than fakes
I agree with your stance on counterfeits. You don't fight one mafia clan (the likes of Chanel and other fashion houses with their obscene prices) by enabling another mafia clan (the counterfeiters), particularly not with the knowledge of them using child labour and all sorts of disgusting practices. Although I'm not too sure the original brands do not make use of that as well...
I need to dig into this a little further
Great video Amelia. Some excellent points and reasons why people may choose to go that route. I had no idea about the fake art. But it completely makes sense. Wonder why that’s not frowned upon but fake bags are?
It’s a double standard isn’t it
Beautiful blouse! It looks great on you!
Wealthy people are often more careful with their money than middle class people.
It's how they got that way, and they're obsessed with wealth preservation.
very good point
My opinion is, buy non branded or non pricey well made purses. However, I will never support counterfeiting. It is also illegal to sell counterfeit where I live so buying it will mean I am supporting criminals.
very true, and the dodgy practices
Do you buy weed 😂😂😂
Counterfeit bags is a separate industry just like many other illegal businesses unfortunately. I’ve visited places in Shanghai and HongKong and India where there are tons of these bags sold openly. It’s sad. I don’t think there is any justification for buying those bags especially if you are rich. I realized a long time ago that I am happy to buy good quality contemporary bags instead. Now I buy luxury bags and it’s for my pleasure not to show off to people. No one in my circle cares about what I’m wearing.
same with the contemporary bags instead
I own both, and I only take fakes to central London as I am scared of getting mugged. Also the quality of fakes are fantastic and long lasting, some you can't tell the fake and real ones apart.
Oh that is very interesting
Being rich doesn't mean you'll just throw money away. Most people, no matter how wealthy, don't want to just waste money for no reason. If you can get the exact same quality bag with the exact same materials for 80% less, who wouldn't? Especially with the rise of "superfakes" (that are exactly the same as an authentic in every sense) there simply isn't any reason to spend more on an authentic.
I would love to see a super fake out of curiosity
@@ameliarosescloset I know just the place and could send you one if you would be interested in doing a review. Should I send you an email? Thank you
Also a lot of tv show will use fake bags because fashion houses don't always loan out their handbags.
Oh i didn’t know that but it makes sense!
Great video
They do feel special
I don’t care how good the fakes are. I would never buy one - I would know it’s fake and that’s all that matters- who cares what other people think 💃🏻 If I couldn’t buy the real thing I would rather go and buy a good high quality unbranded leather bag 💯
I agree with this, this is my view as well for me persoanlly
I agree. I couldn't buy fake. And I especially couldn't try and pass it off as real. Once you go with the real thing, you know quality and craftsmanship. Not to mention, that's just not me.
Amen!
@@annahalko-angemi 💯!
The "arrival" definitely never had, like OMG finally.
worth it is hard to justify with the prices now
9,000 dollar Chanel bags that are made poorly. I’ve heard so many horror stories of these expensive bags breaking apart not worth that money at all.
This is so true
Hi Amelia!! Very interesting topic, lots of good information that I wasn't aware of. By the by, I love your blouse, it's gorgeous!💕☺️🇨🇦
Thank you so much!
I wonder with hearing about Chanel's quality issues, if the fake ones are better in terms of how well they are made. Although wealthy or not i dont believe in fakes, I would never get one I would just live in constant fear of being called out
Mmm that’s a very interesting point on the quality!
That's so interesting !
That can be the problem, some fakes look awful
Yes, trying to fake it can turn out making us look so ugly
And it feels good buying from LV because of the experience …I got a high quality for 400$ and I realize I will never buy a certain brand bag for 9K.. the price increases are ridiculous.
i think the lv staff are great, i enjoy buying in their boutique
if counterfeit is bought its no big deal as long as they don't sell it as authentic...
true it's when they pretend it is authentic is the problem
@@ameliarosescloset I mean they can pretend all they want, because that is still in the realm of “their business” but if they try to sell it, that’s messed up lol
Sorry but in my opinion, the onus is on the fashion houses to address these shady practices mostly because their quality is getting poorer and the prices are getting higher. It literally makes NO sense to pay 10k+ for bag you can't distinguish from a fake.
They definitely could do more
Also, its alot easier to buy counterfeits when you know you have money. Because who would ever think or question It?
that is such a good point
Great video walking though possible reasons. I do not intentionally buy counterfeits but I have received from scammers who offered for me to keep the items instead of incurring return shipping charges. I hate scammers 😡
that shows how much they valued that bag!
Exactly it's called out old economy system is no longer it's called neo liberation
@@ameliarosescloset In the USA. Theft is always an issue.
Plus the fact that these luxury bags keep on increasing price yet degrading the quality! There more concentrated on their price rather than their qualities nowadays!
That doesn’t help!
Why wouldn't they? It's very smart and that's likely how they stay rich. Letting someone con you into spending 10,000% of an item's value because of a little logo it just makes you a complete sucker. If you fall for it you're getting completely played by someone smarter than yourself.
It certainly saves them a lot of money
I have both real and fakes. I have zero plan in selling the reps and if people ask me I am honest. I have saved thousands and thousands but still get to enjoy the "luxury experience." Also I will use these rep bags long before I reach for the bags that were expensive!
Oh that is interesting , takes away the worry of the expensive bag
You're really not enjoying the "luxury experience" if it's fake. But I guess you can keep convincing yourself that you are.
I buy the Super Fakes! I just bought a Hermes Kelly Super Fake.. I love it, very impressive!!
Oh can you tell the difference!?
@@ameliarosescloset Actually i used to own a consignment store where ppl were trying to pass fakes all the time. I know my bags and know what to look for and these bags are damn near spot on if you get them from the right people. there is a huge diffrence in a faje off of dhgate and the ones that i have been getting.
Security! I have a dollar limit on accessories in general. My personal safety, my family’s safety, my friends’ safety, our homes, the handbag itself and the items inside the handbag are important to me. I don’t buy fakes nor will I use a fake in-place of the original. I’m okay with inspirational pieces.
thank you and i love your profile pic!
Same, i would know and that’s all that matters to me
For a similar price to a good fake you can get a similar styled bag for a contemporary brand.
Just my 2 cents
Agree with this
Have already comtemplated getting one for me ( the classic flap) but so afraid and where can I get those super fakes?
Instead of spending 10k + in a bag nowadays, I personally prefer to use this money for a nice family vacation where the experience and time are priceless.
I also wouldn't sacrifice a vacation for a bag
Because they’re smart enough to know that shit isn’t worth it and they have nothing to prove.
Very true
when Gucci did the collaboration with Sega.
Oh that's so interesting!
I am so passionate about this topic...... If you have money and you think real chanel purses will expose you to burglary then why buy fake? As far as potential burglars, it is still chanel and it is not that the burglars will bring Authenticators to check your purses before deciding to rob you.
If you are a business owner and you think it is cool to buy counterfeit then wait until someone steal your intellectual property or ideas.
very good point
I don't think it's possible to believe that high-quality, expensive replicas are made by children under difficult working conditions, it's not possible. For cheap fakes, this is most likely real.
good point
I've heard that the high quality ones source from the same places the real ones do and then get skilled workers in cheap markets like India and China to make them
Emilia- I love the top you wearing- pls link it if possible. Love your vid as always. ❤
Thank you! And I’m sorry it’s about 2 years old! It is from wolf and badger x
I would go to the *esluxscom* to buy a purse. I wouldn't buy it over the store. I would be too afraid of getting cheated. Great video . Thank you for the knowledge. Congratulations on your expanding family
Not only are the prices going up but the quality of the authentics are going down, thats why people are buying vintage authentic, the leathers, hardwear etc are now cheaper quality so there make even more money from consumers.
this is so true
The moment I saw the bag *preluxs* I knew I had to have it.
It's literally a replica of the original.
lots of very interesting opinions on this, I wish my hair was still completely authentic!!
I have a mix of replicas and real bags. I buy real bags when I need them for travel or daily use and fakes for the ones I use on special occasions lll. I buy bags to use them, not collect them. I find that ppl who purchase expensive bags are so scared to get any scratches on it so they don't wear them- wheres the enjoyment in that...
that's a good mix to make it work for you
What is BS is standing in line and buying thousands of dollars of crap you don't really want in order to "MAYBE" get "offered" a bag that isn't the color or leather you ACTUALLY WANT, and then feel you MUST pay TONS OF MONEY for this POS you normally wouldn't choose in a million years! I'd rather get a AAA Replica......
it didn't work for me either!
If you think it carefully, it does make sense to follow the rich women steps…
def better in the stock market, i get concerned when i see bags advertised as investments
My thought is wealthy people are often wealthy because they invest and spend their money wisely and Chanel bags aren’t a wise purchase.
Very wise thought!
Idk I’m wealthy and my assets allow me to purchase authentic luxury with ease
Fakes are often better quality. ❤❤❤❤
Unfortunately this is becoming more and more true for some examples
All luxury brands need to sue all the black market of fakes ones… I will never buy a fake one handbag
Me neither
Agree re the buying of fakes - I don’t want to support organised crime or inhumane working conditions. I also buy bags for me, not for others so I want the real thing. If I can’t afford the original then I will just go without or reach for a different design from a more affordable brand. Before I was I to luxury I bought high street bags where I liked their design.
iti s def about how we feel using them
This is a great video.
Big time. I don’t buy fakes but I’m seriously thinking of doing it.
i really get this, and see why it is growing
and also, they can get away with it. who is going to question someone who is obviously wealthy on the authenticity of their handbag.
So true
I wouldn't buy a new Chanel because the quality isn't there anymore.
Especially not with the new prices
People will forever be profiled for originals and counterfeit bags, etc. Measures for counter theft is paramount. Ultimately it’s a continuing catch-22. 👜👜👜
Never ending story
something my dad has always said is 'just because you can doesn't mean you should' in terms of this fakes situation I believe that it means that while yes we can afford these things, there is little reason to when the fakes are now good quality in a lot of cases, and they perform the same way the real does. And on top of this the wealthy prefer to spend their money on things such as fine jewellery as they will have a return on their investment inn most cases.
I understand this
I don't think it's right to purchase knock offs. It's not fair to the companies who have worked so hard to get to where they are
Yip, is definitely an intellectual property issue
Not just wealthy people but money-conscious people buy high-end replica designer bags. They all simply understand the value of money. I was in Istanbul recently, and you could find absolutely gorgeous replica bags, including Chanel & Hermes. You are offered tea, coffee, and water when you talk to the salesperson. You get better customer service than some of the high-end brand stores.
Oh that’s very interesting!
You’ve made interesting points. So why do any of us bother???🤦🏼♀️
lol i know!!
Love your outlook and I 💯 agree with you! Thank you for sharing sweetheart😘
You are so welcome
💖
I am not
cheaper versions def bring less worry
Do you know that charity only gives 5% to those you think you donate to? Except perhaps a local animal shelter where you can physically go and help..
Thank you
my issue with the fake is they are expensive for what they are worth. there is no resale value for them. if you buy fake for $500, it is $0 at the end but if i buy original for $8k, it will remain same plus if you love it, you have forever piece in your collection.
I ended up donating it to the local shelter and I'll never buy another LV again...well, maybe a counterfeit LV I might, but these designers/robber barons aren't getting another penny out of me.
for me it's the feeling using them and keeping them for years
i have some great fakes in my collection but the last three fakes i ordered were awful! so many sites use pictures of real bags and have 1000's of fake reviews! im glad i have the ones i do but in the future i will be saving for the real thing🦋🖤🦋
i would like to have actually seen a really good one
Yeah but you have to spend $300+ to get a good fake.
@@totesgene i paid more for the bad ones i recieved than the nice ones🙈
You might want to take a look at how badly Chanel treat their employees.
Oh now i am off to research and find out more about this
Super Dacob talked about the awful conditions Chanel’s handbag makers have to put up with in a recent video.
I must watch that, i haven’t seen it
This can be said about most companies yet most people support the brand .
Was it hard to find a good replica of it, that still gave you the feeling you love it?
Loved when u said achieving the achievement to get the bags , that is exactly me
That’s a big part of it for me
@@ameliarosescloset yes , for me too … I have worked very hard and put myself through 11 years of college education to be able to afford my bags … I remember setting my labtop screen to a chanel bag photo to motivate me to study and get through residency .. and so now walking into a store and actually buying the bags gives me that sense of achievement and accomplishment and thats why I love buying luxury ..
i know so many wealthy people that buy and wear counterfeit for all the reasons u mentioned , bc to them its not about the sense of accomplishment or achievement
I've never seen one in person, but I've seen women talk about them on repladies
i think it wouldn't feel the same for me either
nonsense, ALL genuine leather fakes mirror replicas call them what you want are mostly $250 and under, some biggest Hermes and such can go for $280 to $350 but it’s rare
Small bags around hundred, bigger bags twice that much, there’s nothing more to it.
The high quality fakes has the same supplier as the real ones. Fun fact from a supplier that lives in China
Really!
Bang on the money!!! Everything you said is 100%
Thank you!
Exactly my thoughts.
so on point
LVMH stock (appx $190 p.s.) is up $15 from two weeks ago. I'd rather make a bit of Bernard's money than the other way around. Long term stock holding is like passive income.
Reps all the day long!
Oh they are worth a fortune!
