@@kaijudirector5336 but you know in the sequel it is revealed that the energy blast that sonic caused at the baseball ⚾️ field reached all the way to tails planet and he did see the whole thing with sonic saving green hills and banishing robotnik to the mushroom planet so its possible after he sees sonic escape to the mushroom planet in this ending he probably still would have expired to leave his village and go meet sonic and become friends with him and mabye they could have just made short that happens after the events of this movie with tails coming to the mushroom and becoming friends with sonic.

I was watch the actual movie again, and I was waiting through the entire shed scene waiting for Sonic to start monologing about how he was fast enough to dodge the dart, only to end up getting hit with it because he spent too long talking. I completely forgot that it only happened in the HISHE Sonic

It's why he insisted they did a road trip. He is canonically fast enough, that he could have traveled every single road IN THE ENTIRE WORLD, in less time than it took them to do that road-trip. Brute-force finding his way there is absolutely a thing he could have done.

It's the only thing that makes sense. If I wanted to defend the movie I'd say that, unlike the Flash, Sonic can't think at the speed of light, so the dart hitting him might be possible, but since he was looking right at the gun, he should've been prepared to move. He had to have let it hit him intentionally.
