@@bangtangirl367 I use the Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream, I find it more gentle than the Cerave cream
Petroleum jelly is disaster for oily skin. I had similar problems post covid but i used rose hip oil and it repaired my skin barrier within 2 months. Now i use snail mucin from cosrx daily, twice a day. Its very light n absorbs beautifully and doesnt make the skin oily. Rose hip oil tends to make the face little oily.
Slugging for people w oily skin can be very damaging. Traps dirt and what not. My advise would be to steam your face properly at home, use hyaluronic serum and seal all of that with a proper moisturizer that suits your skin type and is on the thicker side.
I am a broke student without money or a dermatologist☠️so take it with a grain of salt, I personally do that when skin gets dry before my cycle, and despite it not completely working out sometimes, my skin feels wayyy better than the prev night before.

Not when u know the method right
Use salsylic face wash and leave it for 45 seconds on the face and rinse it off, now that u have thoroughly cleaned the skin
Apply petroleum jelly after a minute of a face wash (2 hour before sleep)
Do not go outside after application
Sleep on the cleanest or newly washed bedsheet
After adequate time (like 12-16 hours) rinse off the face (with mild cleanser) and apply salsylic serum + moisturizer
I have done this and didn't got a single pimple.
Im not a derm im a vet but when you have dammaged skin barrier stop using actives . and me as an oily skin i slugged when my skin barrier was inflammed i didnt break out but you should cleanse your face very carefully and dont apply a thick layer of vaseline its not the vaseline clogging your pores it is you not cleansing good and you occlude that dirt on youre skin which causes breakouts.

But if you cleanse in a good way you can use slugging for oily skin be cause if you dont cleanse it may trap dead skin and dirt im oily and i slugged because i had irritation to retinol and it helped me and i didnt break out im not a derm im a vet so i dont know your opinion@@Skynfyx
Petroleum doesn't clog pores btw it suits some people and doesn't suit others so don't go discouraging people not to slug even if u have oily skin but a damaged barrier please give slugging a shot and see if it works. Everyone has different skin and just cz someone else with oily skin had a bad exp doesn't mean you'll
Sir im using clarins night mask. Its soo good. Hydrates overnight. I wear it and put the sunday riley night oil. The best. Got cheek acne cuz of wearing facemask everyday at work. Now its improving. It messed me up. I felt ugly n down all the time cuz of the persistent acne. Love from Nigeria🇳🇬🇳🇬♥️♥️♥️♥️
Vanicream face moisturizer is a hero to repair skin barrier
I have oily and acne prone skin, and i was still using tretinoin 0.05% which made my skin extremely dry and flaking which indicated that the barrier is broken. I flake from the top to bottom of my face, so i tried this slugging method but i added hyaluronic acid and moisturizer before vaseline and the next day i have a plumpy skin even after cleansing it. It did cause my existing acne to become more red but those will go away after some time because having a hydrated skin is more important than dry and flaking skin. I do it when it is necessary

When I was in college didn't use anything I have beautiful skin,no acne, no open skin pores like nothing the. I start using skin care like AHA,BHA and many more things now I have damaged skin acne,marks.thanks skincare not BC of you load on my skin even load on my pocket also😅😅😅

@@vanyas4952 that happened to me too, I think it just seals off the skin way too much and doesn't let it regenerate and get moisture and just act "normal" were u able to get your skin back on track?
@@erick7brian yeah exactly your skin can’t breathe and your barrier becomes compromised, and no not really it’s been a struggle for me for a few months now, using red light therapy, Cicaplast and even tallow, my skin is better but it’s still quite sensitive. How about you?

Slugging itself is not comedogenic (acne-causing), but if you have clogged pores or retained makeup, you could create an infection or outbreak by trapping these particles under the occlusive. Make sure your skin is super clean before sealing it
