it also works very well in sunbreak, especially when facing off against level 300 monsters that have bad element hit zones that make element SAED almost useless.

Even with Guard 5, red shield, and guard points, you still suffer that much knockback from Brute Tigrex's roars? Or is it because you don't have Guard Up?

i think its part of its animation. since mh4u it always has knockback and guard up has nothing to do with it. its jusr focus on some monsters attack that cant guard by guard+5.

the greatness of charge blade is you can play it so many different ways. there is no 100% by the book meta. it's charge blade. at least that's how I feel and why it's my favorite weapon in monhun besides hunting horn.
