Hey! You can still find properties east of US1 in the 700-900k range in Coral Ridge. But to your point, it's much harder and there's alot less these days
Native NYer here. Florida is not for me. Just too hot and i suspect it's getting over crowded. I could only see myself living there as a snow bird, at best. To each there own.
The cane toad killed my dog. I don’t recommend anyone having a small dog down here! And if you do, you need to be 1000% careful always watching your dog. They often come after rainfall.
LOL, I am guessing your comment about locals was pointed at me?!? I agree the view of downtown Ft Lauderdale is great from the I595 to I95 overpass. it gets me every time. Driving I 95 is insane & I refuse to do it anymore. I visit NYC many times and I can't figure out how people up there handle the lack of humidity. Summer time the temperature changes 5 degrees when you step in or out of the shade! Winters are BRUTAL up there! Snow is SO over rated! I live in my shorts and tshirts.
If you just started building a family with small and low income,i would never sugest you to come in florida because you would never make it .the reasons are simple ,high cost of living, lower wage would kill your unique dream.i live in miami since 1991,longtime ago i tell you what ,it used to be a cheaper place where you could make a decent life, now it goes down the hill because of greed, hate and selfishness.its gonna be hard for the young kids to have a great future in florida.
All of these issues mentioned are very subjective. The main issue for those living in Fort Lauderdale is the high cost of living, for instance restaurants charge as if they were in Manhattan and the quality of food is below par in general. Also it is impossible to find good NY quality pizza and Chinese food. If you buy a single family home, expect to pay in average $350 per month for electricity, and $325 for utilities (water, sewer, garbage collection). However, the worst thing is the cost of property taxes, for a single family the cost is $18,000 or more per year. Having said that, Fort Lauderdale is the most vibrant place to live in south Florida, close to the beach, parks, cultural places, golf, tennis, boating, and if you love soccer the Pink Stadium is in town, you can go see Messi play for only $200 per ticket.
Yes, they are subjective. I have spoken about the main pros and cons and cost of living in many other videos so I wanted to talk about some of the more specific things that I dislike about living here to shine some light on some things that may be overlooked. Thanks for watching!
Combine the high expense with extremely extremely low pay for most jobs. To me thats the worst part. It takes two people working or one person working 2 jobs to live a decent life
I used to live in ft.laud. In 2002-2015 I had great time but we( my boy friend and me) got too much party and heavily consumed alcohol, so we moved away to CO ( second home and sold condo. In Florida) But we love Florida.
Good video good information I live in New York City like most New Yorkers I think about moving down south still think it’s a beautiful place , but it’s gotten gotten very expensive to live there
Oh boy, deadly (to dogs) frogs, flying roaches, and let's not forget, alligators, plus the summer and high home prices/insurance, ..... making me think twice about moving down there! Still going there for vacations, but to live there? We'll see..... LOL P.S. Yes, FL is flat, but so is my area of South Jersey, so I can handle that. Traffic? We've got that too (over development does that), but oh, the Sunshine is glorious when you realize it's February, and the folks back home complain that it's 28 degrees!!!
Traffic is a little different than Jersey. At least North Jersey because we had so many highway options up there that they just dont have down here. And there is usually traffic at all hours here, not just rush hour
bro. I live down here now too. moved here from LA a few months ago but I grew up between Jersey and New York and I used to hike at garret mountain as a teenager.. fukin wild bro. forgot all about that spot. salute g.. 🫡
@@livingsoflo well weather wise I have definitely been spoiled living out there for the last 7 years cause cali has the best weather but I do like it here. I miss the mountains and the actual physical landscape of all of california but LA is a mess. I have a 14 month old daughter now so there was no way we were going to stay there. People are shooting dope in the middle of the streets wherever you go. Crime is out of control. My wife is from there so we will go back and visit but have no plans to go back anytime soon. Idk whats worse now LA or NY. And the prices maybe going up down here in south florida but compared to cali. Not even close. But definitely still getting acclimated to the area and the reintroduction of humidity in my life 😂
In the 70’s when I was in my 20’s, Fort Lauderdale was great! Beautiful, sexy women, beautiful cars great restaurants and easy commuting. Now? I would not give you a dime to be there. I’m glad I lived there when it was great!
Hey, yes uber is very over saturated here, meaning there’s a ton of uber drivers. I’ve mentioned this in other videos you should never have a problem getting an uber/lyft very quickly unless maybe theres a major event going on. I know from first hand experience from driving uber/lyft when i first moved here. Thanks for watching!
I love Fort Lauderdale but I also LOVE my dogs so yeah I'll stay put in this cold climate of Chicago . LOL ... For roaches I just always have that raid with the long red stick everywhere in my apts when I live there there so grossssss! we have then in PR so am sort of use to them . Hmmmm maybe if I live in a high very high rise! and screens everywhere even if they look somewhat ugly and enough rooms for me pets to run and play with a large balcony.
@@livingsoflo not going to lie. LA/NYC/TX people who moved to my state have trashed the hell out of it... If you where here before 2020 Sofl was so chill then the trash came in.
Possibly in certain areas but even bedrooms for rent are going for $12-1500/month now so if you see a studio for $1000/mo just make sure to do your due diligence on it. Unfortunately people do scam on zillow
FYI, I don't really hate it here 😎
Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe so you don't miss the next one! 🚨
I live here in Broward County, and this place is Paradise.😊
Dade County as well.😊
Be prepared to pay multi million dollars for any property east of US1 near water. Fort Lauderdale used to be the sweetest little town.

the bank.

Wow i’m really sorry to hear that 🙏
Traffic, crowds, high prices and rude people!
Unless you live in the rural midwest or the south, you're going to experience that in any major metro. Thanks for watching 🙏
Sounds like NY
And it's getting worse in Miami as well, it's going to be very difficult to find a relationship if you live in those two counties
I just moved from where a month ago it was -40°C, here it was 25°C. I like here
I love Ft Lauderdale but even at night it's always warm.

Lmao I was hoping you’d catch it 😂 I agree. I avoid 95 if I can or I just say a prayer as I’m getting on
Tell me more about the startup scene in Fort Lauderdale
Yea yall should definitely leave or not move here. No reason given, just stay away from

"I miss seasons" ...yea that's why I live in a place where I get to skip the shitty ones
As someone who been living in Miami for 25years I won’t advise anybody to come to FL.
Thank you for telling us about the frogs😳
I'm leaving over-rated Florida for much cheaper South Carolina.
Thank you for a good video.
Hey Markus, appreciate you watching!
Come over to the UK and you will see what it means “no season” 😂😂😂 great video! Thanks
What's your advice from someone wanting to move from the Midwest to South Florida?
Watch my videos. Have a plan. Don't come here without a job lined up if you don't have to and start researching different areas early on.
