We are glad you liked the video! The tank volume will always be specified in the user manual of the machine. The Hobart we have here lists the tank volume right above the name plate. If you can't find let us know the model number and we can look it up? Thanks!
Thanks for the explanation on how to run the descaler. I have a ES2000 Pure Clean machine and I am unclear as to how to set it to descaler cycle. Would you possibly be able to help me?
@@smrdaze06 I cannot find anything in the manual on how to descale. My apologies. You can descale “manually” as outlined in the video. Fill machine with fresh water, add descaler, start washing cycle. Then pause cycle halfway through, let the descaler soak into machine for 15-20 minutes. Then continue cycle. Give us a call if you have any questions on this. Thank you for the question!
Thanks for this video! What if the industrial dishwasher has a bunch of build up on the side against the wall and it's hard to reach? Will the decaler be able to remove it?
Thank you for the inquiry. Yes, descaler can be used to manually remove thick scale. I would recommend using spray bottle or sponge to soak the affected area with descaler. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Wipe the scale off or you may have to use a brush/abrasive. After that flush area with clean water. Hope this helps!
Thanks for instructive video. I wonder if the boiler gets descaled too. The rinse water typically is not taken from the tank so I guess the descaler wont reach the boiler used for the rinse cycle?
Correct, the descaler solution would not reach the boiler and only circulates in the dishwasher. You would need to run a separate descaling cycle on the hot water boiler. Thanks for the inquiry!
Make sure you replace your anti rust anode rod(s) before your tank completely rusts and fails. Rods last about 50% longer than tank is warrantied for, then replace the rod, don't wait!
Leave the drain basket in. It would be a good idea to make sure the drain basket is cleaned out though. Thank you for bringing this question to our attention.
I read through the SDS on this product. Any information on the specific chemicals used in this product? How can I be sure it is safe to use on food grade equipment.
The Descaler is a blend of acids, builders and surfactants. As shown in the video, after descaling you want to rinse and flush out the dishwasher several times. This will remove any residual cleaner. Commercial dishwashers have a end "rinse cycle" where at the end of cleaning cycle fresh water is injected to rinse the detergent off the plates. Hope this helps you. Thanks!
For this Hobart machine: 1. Drain the machine 2. Press and hold the "On" and "Cycle" button for three seconds and close the door. It will prompt you to add Delime solution. 3. Open door and add solution. 4. Close door and let run its full 14 minute cycle and will show "drain" when completed. 5. Drain tank and refill with fresh water. Repeat one more time ensure fresh water.
Yes, you could technically use vinegar but I have never done this. Try two gallons and see how that works and trust your experience. It either will remove the scale or it won't. Hope this helps you. Thanks! If interested, here is the math behind the 2-gallons. The concentration of vinegar is 4-6% acetic acid compared to the concentrated Universal Descaler that we sell that is 30% phosphoric acid. Therefore, I would use 5x the amount or 20 floz per gallon of wash tank. Do you know your wash tank volume of your machine? The machine in the video has a 14 gallon wash tank. Therefore, 20 floz times 14 gallons equals 2.1 gallons (roughly 2 gallons).
Hi there, thanks for the question, we usually focus on commercial dishwashers and not tankless and tank water heaters. Best to refer to the owners manual on specifics. That being said, we want to help. My hot water tank at home, I flush every year to remove sediment and do not descale, you probably could though. At our soap plant we have several “tankless” water heaters. Those we descale every six months. Hope this helps, I will try to make next time we descale tank water heater.
On some machines, you can adjust a cam timer to make rinse cycle longer. What make and mode dishwasher? I can look at manual and let you know for sure.
an easy simple video that is straight to the point. thank you. Question though, where is the tank volume usually listed?

What numbers do you put in on a digital Hobart to delime.
It has a code to key in.

3. Open door and add solution.

If unable to get lime-begone, could vinegar be used? Would you recommend an amount.

Would this descaled work for a undercounted cma dishmachine model uc50e?
Also where can I purchase it?
Yes, this will work on undercounter machine. You can purchase through website activeelement.org
How do you Reset the Delime Recommended Display? after delimeing the display doesn't go away, just always say Delime Recommended
I would try restarting the dishwasher by turning off and then back on. What is the brand and model dishwasher? We can lookup in manual. No problem.
How do I make the rinse cycle longer
On some machines, you can adjust a cam timer to make rinse cycle longer. What make and mode dishwasher? I can look at manual and let you know for sure.
9:45 am. My delime function runs for 1/2 min then says drain. How can I fix it
I would be happy to look into this for you. Do you know make and model of machine?
