Star Wars canon stopped existing awhile ago.
All because George Lucas got greedy and sold his company... you reap what you sow. Lol
Nah it still is existing

Why do they always feed the negative stereotypes under the guise of breaking them

Bro damn didn’t think about this one until now. 😅

Thats why i decide to explore the EU instead
Good on you buddy, theres a tonne of amazing EU material.
European Union?
eu is beautifull, from the northern region ov the scandinacians, the alps, castles, the mediteranian sea and the east, each country unique and unlike star wars today, with lore that invites you to get to know more abbout the countries

@@itsnotme987 Bad dialogue, characters, editing, acting, visual effects, pace... storywise on par but calling the Force "the thread" it cements its place as worse that TLJ.
I wouldn’t go that far
The show isn’t worse just episode three. Although last Jedi had a few good moments. I like the scene where they fight royal guards
I hate Disney so much
It's not a good idea, so Disney will do it.
History of Disney's failure repeats itself. It's like poetry...

And after reading the comments.... i am so glad i left the fandom after Rise of Skywalker. Just passing by to see the dumpster fire.
yeah the fire burnt half the world since you been gone..
Wouldn’t blame ya for leaving.
I left with Phantom Menace.
“The Last Jedi” broke Star Wars.
This is just the gathering at the funeral to laugh at how far Star Wars has fallen as it’s lowered into the ground.
The Last Jedi broke Star Wars for inflexible fan boys. The movie was mostly garbage, but the best part of TLJ was Yoda telling Luke that the bulk of the Jedi religion was nonsense. Turning stories on their heads - that’s what makes great movies.
TLJ is 10/10 compared to this garbage 😂 that’s how fking bad Acolyte is
@@altonlyter2024 no, last jedi utterly killed the franchise
I disagree. The Rise of Skywalker killed Star Wars for me. Last Jedi was bold and different in a way that I respect. By no means do I think it's perfect but The Rise of Skywalker literally killed me inside watching it
@@kevinglynn9593 the correct answer is quitting after Last Jedi & refusing to watch Rise of Skywalker altogether
For me it feels like they are trying to reinvent the Jedi as this flawed grey terrible shady organisation years before the prequels, then they fall in the prequels, then Luke who should’ve brought them back successfully and been his Jedi order failed cause he to have into his hubris, and the faults of the old order. He fails then REY will be the one to properly learn from the old and her next Jedi will be the best and gonna for 1000 more generations. That’s what utterly offends me, and the fact that the original trilogy story was about redeeming and returning of the Jedi, Luke went against obiwan and yodas wished that he just kill his own father and there’s no hope, that’s a very old Jedi way of thinking, but Luke was more like qui gon and proved them wrong, but still failed, and we get essentially the same story repeated with the sequels…
Luke didn’t fail don’t let Disney rewrite history
I mean... That's exactly what the Jedi are. They have dogmatic views of the Force. They monopolized it from the Galaxy. They kidnap children before they're too young to make a choice. They allow politics to interfere with their spiritual decisions. That's a shady terrible organization to me.
Well, Lucas did intend the Jedi order to be quite flawed, by the end.
Contrast Qui-Gon Jinn to Mace Windu too.
The question is - in what precise ways, did Lucas mean it?
Star Wars is dead, we must accept it. It's time to creates our own lore, Disney murdered this franchise.
This series is Space Frozen.
Idk I guess it's reasonable that different groups of force users (jedi/witch etc) would have different explanations of what the force is and how to use it..
only one of the groups are an all female lead witch coven of evil.
Not sure the thread stuff would explain the cave on dagobah and the dark rey visions. If the universe has been shown to adhere to binary dark/light rules, then it's harder to paint them as just a sect. If memory serves, the mechanics were that any anger or hate inexorably leads to the dark side. The only way out of that would be if Luke and Rey had been versed with the religion of the force enough to have visions that emanated from within. Similarly, the seduction to the dark side and then the state of being trapped would need to be in themselves. It would require that the sith are trapped because they understand themselves to be trapped. And that it! If Luke/Rey (as noobs) didn't know dogmas necessary to produce the vision, then it would need to come from the force itself. If the visions are just hallucinations, then Rey and Luke are psychos.
@@victorcates9330 That’s a nonsensical statement. The “Thread” doesn't need to explain those things.
disney is not my starwars.
They keep trying to replace the Jedi, but they can't. Because the Jedi are clearly the Good guys, and the Sith are just like the Jedi but Evil. It's very simple no need to overcomplicate this story but no... Now the force gets women pregnant and leaves like a black man. We have these Witches who are trying to say that there is no Morality when there is clear cut good and Evil in this Universe. I'm tired of this empathy for the Devil B.S.
but they aren't necessarily the good guys
Sorry, the Jedi were never "just good guys" (especially in the prequels)
@@tablettablete186 you sound like the Sith. You have absolutely zero evidence that the Jedi are Evil besides they failed Anakin. For some odd reason now the Jedi are morally grey and they do shady things to ensure the Galaxy is safe. Where was any of this in Star Wars? This idea that the Jedi are evil is a 2018 concept. No one saw the Jedi as Evil until Disney began saying the Jedi are evil.
I can't do it anymore. After 40 years of loving this franchise, they finally broke me. I'm out.
The sequels will never be loved bc they literally couldn’t keep a director, on direction.
Disney hasn't moved on from the sequel trilogy. The Rey movie is yet to come.
I do agree that this show signals they have moved on from something: making Star Wars content that is appealing.
I get your point, but wasn’t it a major theme in the OT and prequels that the Jedi are not a monolith, they often fail to live up to their own high standards and hurt others as a result?
I would expect that the High Republic is the prime time for this arrogance seeing as they are at the top. I think is great context for why the Jedi are seen the way that they are in the clone wars..
Them being portrayed as child abducters and oppressors is a whole other narrative. Not to mention how they wanted to teach some random force sensitive kids who are older than the required age. There's no valid argument to this nonsense.
@@Itachiflameamaterasubut they are child abductors, they are arrogant maybe not oppressors but the jedi were very flawed for hundreds of years. What religious organizations in real life aren't corrupt and power hungry? You also act like there's some set rule book that exsist for training jedi, if so point me in the general direction. Not just one line from a movie that is from a person perspective bc just like in real life no every character knows everything
@@Itachiflameamaterasuthe child thing is something that has been portrayed in a somewhat negative light for quite some time. It’s a commentary on religious cults and is a weird grey area with them not letting them contact their parents ever.
And we are never told a “required age”. All we see is Anakin being told he’s too old in EP.1. This could be them making another exception or they had diff rules back in the high republic.
@@jonathanscott3914 Some set written rules like the Jedi code?
Disney Star Wars, like Disney Marvel, has these shows thrown out without any oversight to see if any they contradict anything, even each other. The opening credits says this takes place 100 years before the rise of the Empire. Anakin is now the 3rd immaculate conception that Yoda had seen within decades by a Phantom Menace.
You never, ever, not even in the absolute worst of times, walk into a space that millions of people consider sacred/holy and sabotage it with glee.

How? What if Plageus learned from the witches? We already know that their force magick deals in necromancy
Bro he’s one person in a massive galaxy he’s just a blip in the timeline
I dont like the fact that they essentially stepped on the toes of anakin's importance, posing as the prophecy of the one that will be conceived by the force, which was palpatine's doing, but giving that to these twins. But I also wanted to say I hadnt thought of them making the Jedi to kill everyone there, we'll see, i think that would be a bad move. the Acolyte should be a story on the sith, their ideology, their teachings, etc. But you do that by showing their side, and not retconning the jedi to be something they are not.
They didn't though. They aren't the child of prophecy.
Pretty confident Disney wants the adults to absolutely hate star wars.
Because the kids will grow up not knowing better and theyll like it.
But its nefarious... it makes those same kids look at the adults like we are jerks who dont approve of all these agendas...
Much different example, but i used to talk to my friend who complained about neeling during the anthem. Id say "who cares" and id be told "because we are here to be a community. Not preach to eachother"
It took me a while to really understand the anger they felt.
I understand it now.
Its about watching someone change the thing you love. In a way that makes what it was initially made for, forgotten.
Like how i view superman... i love superman.... but all we ever do with him today is make him a evil person
i struggle to agree being a huge starwars fan and starwars legends fan. i merely saw this as a different civilization seeing the force and it's make-up from their own "Point of view"- Obi. The padwan did the mid-count blood test in the episode. I saw this episode as a clash of views and ideals. It's the real life equivalent to different civilizations having their own view of phenomena that take place. You can't reasonably expect that all persons throughout the entire galaxy (and definitely the universe of starwars) will see the force in the same way. I think the critics are really reaching on this episode being entirely bad. I agree this @tyronemagnus that the camera shots were not starwars and the music didn't ring of starwars either.
Don't worry, Disney content is not canon. Its just high budget fanfic made by people who don't like star wars
That’s what I’ve been telling myself except for Bad Batch, Rebels, Andor Rogue One, Mandalorin S1-2,
That isn't how canon works.
So because they cant butchering character, they butchering star wars lore instead.
Don’t see how this is a retcon, since legends it’s been established there are various different religions based around “the force”. What we call the force is just what the Jedi and sith call it. The night sisters while there “magick” is works and looks different it is still the force. Same with these witches. This is like original lore, legends lore. Don’t know why people are complaining
Yea these ppl want boring stories regurgitated
Ajunta Pall discovered how to create life thousands of years before Anakins birth he's also the first sith lord.
Ventress trained as a Jedi Padawan.
How can you have something, already built up, with heaps of pre-existing material ready to be adapted into cinematic form and decide to throw all of that away, and, after doing so, be surprised that the vast majority of fans don't like it. It's insane.
I wouldn't call it a retcon or breaking canon, it's just different groups having different interpretations of what is fundamentally the same thing. Like religions irl, god going by differnent names etc
Amen man! I get sick of Star Wars fans that just see everything in the Jedi and Sith..and nothing in between..This is why Star Wars can’t move on..Like the new movie could’ve been about the Jedi and Sith trying pull rouge force users that where doing their own thing without proper training. But we got bland Force Awakens and the other two slope for sequels..Disney and the so called fans don’t have the imagination to think forward..It’s been a circle jerk.drowning in they’re own spunk
In the High Republic, Avar Kriss saw the force as a song, with different notes possibly hinting at the future and the past. It's just an interpretation
@@jm76vd Maybe you should attain more knowledge before behaving like an asshat ^^
The problem is when you open it up different interpetations, you open it up to different interpetations. "Fundamentally the same thing" can mean something completely different in a few years. I mean, female and woman is fundamentally the same thing, but today you see men destroying women in the ring, in track and field, swimming and weight lifting. Everything is a slippery slope unless you lock it up to one interpetation. It's like with Rings of Power shill; they can always justify a poor reading of his works with the argument "Tolkien didn't explicitly state...".
Real
vent time:
Why are we being so overdramatic about the "thread thing" its a slightly different wording of the same exact same thing that was said by obi wan in ANH
Obi wan (obviously speaking about the force):
1. "The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us, it binds the galaxy together."
The acolyte mother:
1. "All living things are connected by the same thread, A thread woven through all of existence"
There is no "Thread thing" its the force, there is no retcon, all of it is the same thing. The concepts of binding, concepts of Interconnectivity, the concepts of life. its the same, in slightly different visuals/words. These are a coven of force sensitive witches that are separate from the jedi, as such they have different descriptions, but ultimately describe the same thing. to not see this basic connection, we have to choose not to see this.
Also the mother did not say there is no good and evil, she said that with respect to the jedi arrival that it wasn't about good and evil, just about power and who was allowed to use it, implying that the jedi spying on her and pushing themsleves into this coven was them attempting to shift power in their favor, which is an understandable feeling. and also, the idea of jedi being corrupt is not new, it been in star wars for years at this point, the idea that a few jedi got together and did something misguided is nowhere outside the realm of possibility. Darth vader himself is a product of mismanagement and flaws in the jedi ideology, which qui gon jin tried to fight. There are clone wars arcs built on jedi corruption and hubris, its also a large narrative aspect of the prequel trilogy. this approach is potentially new and more realistic, this happens with any large order, irl or not, even if the overall plan is good, give any organization too much power, bad stuff happens. its human, but theres always those to fight darkness and corruption, thats human too. If people want the jedi to be pure good and immune to any negative actions forever go ahead, but thats just not enjoyable imo.
edit: correction
Exactly. What they say here is almost exactly the same thing that Yoda says in ep.5.

@@SerAvaros literally lmao
@@SerAvaros no they’re are multiple other RUclipsrs and SW content creators saying the exact same thing this comment is.
That people are making a big deal about things have already been established in SW for a while.
The changing of the interpretation of the Force isn't that much of a big deal since it may be these specific Witches view of the Force, similar to say how every society views religion differently. The main thing that i felt that is even more damaging is that this episode retcons Anakin's importance in the narrative as well as lessens the mystery of Darth Plaguies. So Anakin's existence & being the 'chosen' one is no longer special. Also Darth Plaguies and the lore surrounding him is undermined since these Witches can do what he could do but better.
Ajunta Pall discovered the power to create life thousands of years before the sith he's also the first dark lord of the Sith no canon was even broken most of the haters are fake fans.
@@dcsmith111 If you aren't aware of the EU than this point is a non factor cause most regular fans don't care. All i'm saying that this episode made Anakin & the lore behind Plageus not that important anymore. They were considered special in the Star Wars fandom, now they are just foot notes.
@izumolee6714 I admit there is issues with acolyte but this is not it. anjanta Pall is the expanded universe. Not only that but is everyone forgetting the Whills from clone wars everything force related and alive is created through them they're basically force gods like the Ones except the Whills literally create force sensitive life.
As per usual, new starwars done by disney breaks canon and makes events that happen in the main prequel and original trilogy trivial
“The Force has many names…”
- Kanan Jarrus
I am so confused by people keep calling it a retcon... There a pretty simple explanation to most of this story. I have suspicions but I am patient for the story.
THX YOU YES
Right, there's been tons of different interpretations of the force in SW and they all seem true to some extent. That must mean that the force is simply too complex to define.
A disturbance in the force has been caused by that witch scene. It was as if thousands of voices sang in cringe, and we wanted them to shut up.
Don’t mistake the witches explanation of the force as the shows intended explanation
There are bound to be different interpretations of the force, and there will be groups who use it differently.
The Jedi Order can still be at times what original fans believed it to be. But that doesn’t mean it will have an unblemished past. I think seeing a time where the hubris and arrogance takes over makes them more interesting. Seeing the fall of the order, Obi-Wan and Yoda knew that they had to teach Luke what they knew, but also taught him about the Jedi in a way that represented what they once were (I’m thinking more like High Republic, which I’m guessing leads to this era where things have been derailed), and not what they had become over the last 150 or so years.
Luke discovering this is part of why he walks away. He tried to teach the way he was taught, to bring the Jedi back the right way, and it still failed.
Rey has that opportunity now.
I'm all for complications and failures and well-intended actions that have dire consequences, but why does it feel like there is such a willful and concerted effort to "dismantle heroes". It feels like there is a hatred towards all things Jedi from the creators of this series. Not an adding of complexity, flaw, and an honest look at failures, but a commitment to tear down what is good, without erecting anything better - as if simply to destroy.
Kyle Katarn said the same thing to Jaden and Jedi night Jedi Academy force is not inherently good or evil. It’s how you use it.
Am absolutely done with star wars now unless it gets sold or brought by someone else, I hope andor season 2 is good but I will not be wasting anymore time on this utter shite. If they do not care about their own cannon then why should i.
They need to make this show somehow consistent with the Nightsisters of Dathomir, otherwise it's not valid content.
Yeah,,,its not like other people lived in the galaxy...how dare they
is it a retcon if someone shares their own philosophy something like the force for example. its not like the jedi said anything about the force or claimed that it work different suddenly. its not like the force got a new canon explanation. so i don't get why everybody is hating.
Give us something different than jedi and sith. Unbelievable.

I don't see the issue here.
Like the Jedi take on The Force is very "eastern philosophy".
The Night Sisters are very "Necromancy". These people are Very "Pagan" (and the explanation the Mother gives is just a different riff on what Yoda said in Empire.)
But it's all just different takes on The Force.
If we look at Realworld spirituality- this is what it's like. Different paradigms do things differently, look at things differently, and so you wind up with people using the same *Thing* in wildly different ways that would have never occurred to the others to even try, and they Couldn't because of how they Think about it.
My two thoughts: 1. I mean there's like 262728 types of religions that all believe different things, why can't there be a buncha sects that believe in the force differently? I don't think it's changing anything about the force. Just showing a how different group of witches believe in the force. 2. Also we have no idea how this will all shake out. Jedi arent, and never will be infallible, but I doubt they'll paint them (and it's only three 4 Jedi too) as murderers in cold blood. We shall see. Just don't get disenfranchised by this show 3/8 episodes in.
I used to love star wars, now its just a joke. I have not watched any stare wars since Disney took control.

The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together. And a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship. Yes, a Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware of the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will. A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack. Only a fully true Star Wars fan, with the Force as his ally, will conquer Kathleen and her empire. If you give in to Disney - if you choose the quick and easy path - you will become an agent of evil.
The Last Jedi took us down this dark path. Star Wars has never recovered.
"The force has many names and one of them is not female"
Remember when you were a kid and you would draw something and you didn’t like it so you would ball it up and throw it away and try again. That’s kind of how this entire series feels. it’s like they have a really great momentum new characters, new ideas and then quickly destroy them all and not explain any of it.

Actually, sith and jedy does not have monopoly over Force. There is other Forceusers, like Nightsisters, Bendu or Navigators from Unknown regions. So I don't see the problem with this particular coven, other then it being boring and uninteresting(and useless, because entirety of the coven died in the same episode they were introdused).
So how did they all die? Fire that took 10 seconds. They are all just lying there not burned or whatever? Just dead hahaha
So what the night sister's said in ashoka was ignored i guess???
RIP Star Wars ✌️ the franchise was killed by Disney. Now they’re steam rolling it
I think it's gonna be a twist and the Sith/dark jedi master guy used the force and made both sisters see different things. The good sister saw her sister try and kill her and burn down the fortress and the bad sister saw the jedi burn down the fortress and her sister betray her. That's why on the broken bridge they both look betrayed and upset and accuse each other of it being the other ones' fault. "What an original amazing twist" people will say, but I'll just call it an unoriginal lazy twist to confuse the audience and make the show seem smarter and deeper then it really is.
This show makes the Last Jedi look good. What a time.
Just gimme Revan's storyline, Keanu Reeves, some A-list directors - I'm good.

This coven of witches believe one thing. The Jedi are in the show believe what is traditionally believed. It's the same ss differing religions in our world. Or different sects of specific religions. The thread is only how they describe The Force. Onc Jedi are seen changing their views maybe there's a conversation. Even if they call it something different, her description was almost wird for word Obi Wan to Luke. Ber description of the dark side and how people perceive it right out of Palatine's mouth.
The Jedi believe that the force is everywhere and comprise everything so how would they be surprised or "threatened" by a random tribe on a random planet who happen to practice the force in a different way? It doesn't matter if the people on that planet don't refer to it as the force, from the perspective of the Jedi of the Old and New Republics, they would NEVER consider force practitioners who aren't using it in evil ways, as a potential threat.
In the first place there already are such races in the main lore, like the species who are all born with no sight in their eyes but they can literally see the force so for them you could also say they are practicing a very different type of force ability than Jedi, one that might make others jealous because from the perspective of many Jedi the Force is more a religion, so an entire species who can see the force? Why didn't the Jedi subjugate and experiment on them to try and take this special ability for themselves? They didn't do that because they are the Jedi!! The moment a Jedi acts on selfish desires they are already walking the path of the Sith.
They don’t say they are a threat
"There is no good or bad" So we just gonna ignore and forget all the light and dark side of the force like that? Just like that the 9 Star Wars movie became irrelevant? What are they thinking???

No because the twins aren't like Anakin
Nobody cared when the nightsisters came in teleporting, shooting green lightning, and calling the force “Magik”, so idk why anyone cares now that we’re seen another coven of force users from a different planet use the force differently.
@@turtletube420 how is this in anyway different. If anything these witches use the force much more closely to how the Jedi and sith do vs the nightsisters.
Of course they don't talk about it's source or how it works, that would require actual having a narrative purpose. There is nothing in the first three episodes to indicate to indicate that's the case here. And unless the writers made some Faustian bargain and their writing ability increased by orders of magnitude, there's no polishing this turd.
The red and blue moons resemble osha and mae’s duality one being inherently good and the other evil. I don’t believe they’re retconning what the force is. The witches have always had their own interpretation of it and use it in different ways we’ve seen this in the clone wars. Just pay attention the how the Jedi view the force for the rest of the show and then assess if Kennedy is wrecking the 50 years of world building or not.
