You are standing on one side of the wall, and your friend is standing on the other side of the wall out of view from you. In order to meet up with your friend you have two options. You can slowly dig away at the wall from your side until you create an opening and can move toward your friend (frontal resorption) or your friend can hack away at the wall from their side until the wall collapses and then you can move toward them (undermining resorption). One form involves resorption of bone from the tooth side, and the other involves resorption of bone from the marrow side. Hopefully that analogy helps!
