    So glad you enjoy your chair. I have the same chair with a different name on it. One way to fix the chair from automatically opening while loading and unloading from your vehicle. While the chair is folded. I use a dog collar and loop it between the foot rest and the bar at the top of the backrest. If you use a strong enough collar you will also be able to lift the entire chair from the collar itself kind of like a suitcase. I also attend a lot of Comic-Con style conventions in my chair. Driving very slow The chair tends to be jerky. Dialing back the speed control on your joystick to only two bars will greatly improve driving abilities at very low speeds.

I have a small wheelchair which I have owned for 5 years but it will not go over rough ground. So the quality of life for me will be emense now. I will be able to go almost every where. My friend and I will go visiting Statley homes in the UK now that my wheelchair will go over rough terrain.

    No battery's have ever explored on electric chairs. Mostly they bring up home made scooters and people putting in wrong size. Also need to be certified. It was the Hover boards that caught fire.

    • @slowrollwithsteph
      @slowrollwithsteph  3 месяца назад +1

      I use it mostly out of the house as our house has been made quite assessable indoors and when I need additional support I bring in my walker. So I wouldn’t be able to speak to it to much, I do sometime get stuck in doorways if I don’t take them carefully in older buildings but that’s all I’ve noticed.

    I'm considering this chair, but I'm a widow so I have no partner to lift it in and out. Would there be anyway to lever it into the back of my crossover SUV? I used to do that with my late husband's manual chair. I'd get the first two wheels in then lever the rest in using a movers blanket. Do you think that might work?

    • @slowrollwithsteph
      @slowrollwithsteph  5 месяцев назад +1

      They have ramps that you can purchase to get the chair in and out of an SUV but I’m sure the process of use or who you would manage on your own. Their website does have many video I would check the video with ramps and see if that is something you could manage.

    I bought this wheelchair February of 2023. My only complaint with it is the seat comfort. The bar that runs across the bottom/back of the seat causes my tailbone to really hurt. I have to put a pillow on the seat to keep this from happening. It needs a thicker cushion on it

    • @slowrollwithsteph
      @slowrollwithsteph  Год назад

      Fair enough! I believe they sell different seat types that are replaceable which I do appreciate. You may also want to consider seat covers for wheelchair from Amazon. I know some people who have had success with those in the past.

    • @slowrollwithsteph
      @slowrollwithsteph  Год назад +2

      James Wijnhamer, it does well on packed gravel and dirt but can get stuck if there is a section that isn’t packed down. As you can see in the photo I was on packed gravel and did not get stuck. I don’t think they have a caregiver remote but the remote can be move on the chair and can be held on the lap instead of on the chair. At any point the chair can be turn to manual and pushed by a caregiver. Hope this helps.

    The weight is one of the things that's an issue for me . But agree about the larger footprint. I also agree on the money spent on ourselves. I replacing a small scooter that broke so I'm trying this style in the uk
    I know I couldn't lift this or use a ramp. I'd go back to the manufacture you shouldn't have these problems at a year. I'm going to an expo and will look at issues raised by yourself.

      The brakes on the back wheels a steady. On bad days when I’m less steady and fall into my chair more then usual, we ensure to keep the chair off to ensure the brakes stay engaged. I personally have not had any issues with the chair moving back on me.

      Thanx so much for this video! I'm 48 with 2 young Kiddos, & I've missed out on so much with them because of my disability. I've looked at sooooo many chairs, I'm feeling confused. I'm also a plus sized woman. I'm currently about 350 & moving down the scale. My issue is always "will I fit" into the chair comfortably. What's your take on that with this chair?

    • @slowrollwithsteph
      @slowrollwithsteph  Год назад +2

      I’ll be honest, this is so hard to answer, everyone’s comfort level is so different and my chair is not the current chair either. They have changed a lot of little thing on the chair including making adjustments to extendable armrests. You should be good but I would check there return policy or see if there is a local rep in your so you can try it out before you buy. It’s a huge purchase and I fully understand the hesitation.

    Airhawk? Weight 40# without battery identical and flight approved. Yours probably.is.too.with lithium batteries. Folds and unfolds easily. Max weight is 265, and I don't have a lot of room to spare, but I'm ok. Problem, like you, I have a scooter too but can't take it apart and put it back together without exhausting myself so its not worth using. The ramps I have found online say don't use with an electric wheelchair which I assumed had to do with the wheels and the extra nontip wheels in the back not fitting into the tracks.
    I need to look through your videos and see what you have for your adjustment emotionally to allow yourself to use the wheelchair that's where I'm at right now. I also like the fold and go. That would be my number one choice but I was able to get my airhawk at a medical closet for only $500, pretty new. Thanks. I'm trying to make my own ramp. Not easy at 68 tho I'm handy, I can't bend much like I used to. (I have CRPS from the waist down. This is my first video of yours. I will be watching more already subscribed.
