If it were me, the boss aka prince, is a preferable choice. He has an interesting personality. Whereas, the ml is snobby and judgemental, even broke the engagement just based on rumors. He's uptight and boring too. This drama started okay but lost traction later on. Same with the fl. She was interesting at first, with her free-spirit and independent character but then got a bit clingy later on. This drama was just meh for me.
Naybe you've never fallen in love and that's why you don't understand how being in love works. Her reaction to the ML's sudden change of behaviour is valid. Tell me, how she gon pretend to not feel hurt or absurd or even confused when their relationship was good and out of nowhere the ML started acting cold and distant? Yeah, it wouldn't make sense if she quickly gets over it and move on without showing much reaction. Though I agree with you that ML was wrong tk judge her based on rumours, but I think he apologised enough for that and realised he was wrong. I appreciate that. He was no longer snobbish. But in most dramas, generals and their homes are regularly under threat of assassination, or an entire general's house gets eliminated because of a jealous/greedy emperor/prince. Also, ML is NOT better looking than sml, though in my opinion they're both not the most handsome guys.
So it was a dream the whole time, he dies in the dream, and she wakes up, but it's implied he has some recollection of the dream? Honestly, not the best. FL is cute, and he's okay until he does the noble idiocy thing. But honestly, I'm not satisfied with that ending. Finally we had a young general and the emperor not only appreciates and trusts him, he treats him like his own son (was close with his parents who died I guess?) I loved seeing their talks in private, because this emperor acted more like a dad than a ruler and it's something we don't get to see, especially when it's not even with a prince, one of his own children. ML even had to convince the emperor to let him go to war with an injury, the emperor really didn't want to. I'll just imagine ML managed to heal in the past, their misunderstanding was solved, and they got married with the emperor watching on like a proud dad. Edit: just reread my whole comment and realized I appreciated the father-son relationship more than the romance, which I mostly skipped 😅😅😅
First time seeing both FL and ML. She's an adorable spitfire and he's an aloof stick up his a$$...until he knows better and actually listens. and of course falls in love with how feisty she is. I adore her maid, she's an absolute sweetheart. As for the SML, I get more sibling vibes than love interest, but that's just my opinion. I like that this one didn't take itself so seriously as so many other historical dramas...I mean come on, how many emperors squat down to sit on a step with his servant? And I'm grateful that the stepmother was not truly evil or that her dad wasn't a total a-hole ignoring his daughter. This was a nice, easy and mostly painless watch.

相反，我更讨厌男主。女主虽然不讨人喜欢，但不去人身攻击，男主仅凭坊间传闻就认为女主性格糟糕、品行不端，还直接数落女主，没有一点风度

男主時裝比較好看，女主古裝比較好看。結局有點空虛。
大家說的一些缺點也沒錯，而且故事有些交代不清，不過我卻沒有快轉，一根簪子讓女主穿越前世，像夢到前世吧！
整體來說這二個主角對“情”的人設，就是一個太開放一個太磨蹭，看似不協調，其實是二人用情至深，不能相守也要守身。
明明能預知發生，但還是無力改變，這時他們（包括隨從）回到了現實世界中，能再續前緣真是太好了。（是完整記憶）
