I am plus sized and visited Thailand for 2 months to learn Thai massage for my business in the states and I was fortified mentally strong within the week number 1. I spent 9 weeks in that beautiful country, and will travel there again soon for even longer. But yes. Anyone plus sized by any ideal of the notion must be mentally strong and 110% know themselves and love themselves. The judgement is strong in the East.

@phiwelove the situations I dealt with outside of my country, personally, were different. In my country, I don't have people asking intrusive questions about my size or just flat-out staring (something that is highly frowned on where I am from). The added component that I am also a farang or foreigner in their country, and I don't look like the locals. I never felt this anywhere in the West I traveled, just when I was in the East. Doesn't matter the fluency of the language or knowledge of the culture either, because no matter what, there will always be that. My experience is similar to others visiting the East from the West, but also uniquely mine. This is why I included my experience in my original post, but also added some nuances others like me experienced to make the blanket statement "any Asian country." Because it wasn't just China or Thailand that I have come to know this situation and not just solely my experience. Which is why it pays to have thick skin when stepping foot outside ones own country.
