Your commentary that they were going to pick a very facially beautiful winner. The entire top 8 was gorgeous.
I NEED to see Maryland and her fabulous walk at Supra or Grand!
Exactly what I told her lol
Great minds think alike because I made this same comment in another video.
I liked how Miss Kentucky started off her final answer with strong words like macro and micro, but then at the end I thought “so how do you suggest businesses to be environmentally conscious?” Because when you think of her answer it was just another “we can make changes in our daily lives” while it’s absolutely true, we’re past that point and need stronger ways to make a change.
exactly what i was thinking !!
You’re so great at explaining what the judges are looking for in a candidate. Your passion and positivity comes across in each video. You should be in charge of the MUO. I can totally see that happening!
Thank you! Maybe one day :)
I love Kentucky! I think she will place high at MU 🤍
In terms of production, I would have changed the music & crowning moment. I was confused with them starting out at 4th place, 3rd place..etc. Then no final moment with the two girls holding hands 🥺 Felt more like a Miss World crowning than Miss USA.
Agree. 4th place is equivalent to 3rd runner up, 2nd place = 1st runner-up, etc.... Looks more like a "Miss Earth" placement because there are only three runners-up and a winner. I wonder why such placements were called as such this year???
I missed the top 2 moment so much and didn't realize until it wasn't there!
@@SummerSayre Agreed, I didn’t feel the tension that I felt for the past few years.
@@benpogi4ever more like Miss America old Format. There is no elemental crowns in Miss USA. Miss Earth is not the right comparison to Miss USA
We have never loved the "sob stories" often found in those video packages. I completely agree with you on this!
Also agree on the open discussion. I had the same comments when they did it for the Teens...definitely feels like that was a strategic decision to help ease the nerves.
Elle is absolutely commanding! She can bring USA back to the top five. Can we also talk about how her right earring fell right before her name was called? Destiny caught on tape ❤️
I agree! She can be in that top 5.
I saw the earring and I was like THAT WAS FATE and then I just hoped she got it back after the girls ran to her!!!!
top 3 for me
Fun fact: I had her mom as my choir teacher for 3 years and now she’s the vice principal at my school! Literally one of my favorite teachers in the world and sooooo proud of Elle!
I don’t remember any black miss USA winning miss universe
I want to see Maryland At another Pageant! She’s soooo Stunning 😍
Me too!!
You are doing an incredible job continuing to promote pageantry, young women, & personal growth and self-confidence for ALL who want to do so via your video presentations.
ReMarkAble
Thank -You!
Thank you so much! That was so sweet!
A well-deserved win, Miss Kentucky! So dashingly gorgeous!
Other than Miss Maryland, none of the walks were exciting. Since that was the same for all of the candidates, I felt the generic walks were a planned or requested thing. What I’m HOPING is that Miss USA will BRING the walk at Miss Universe because the other Miss Universe candidates most certainly will. Our Miss Universe will be a mystery as we’ve not seen much of her prior to the Miss USA pageant. I hope she’ll be far more prepared and visible than our previous Miss USA. There is already soooo much more press and hype surrounding the other Miss Universe candidates. I want to see a fabulous wardrobe, presence on performance from Elle. Being that she’ll be late to Israel, she could parlay that late arrival into moments that can highlight her. She has all it takes to be fierce. She just needs to unpack it and bring it.
I was about to say that they all did pivot turns when a spin would be more fierce and exciting.
Sorry to other contestants who are already in Miss Universe are bringing it
I lived for Maryland
Don't worry USA will get placement, it's always fixed
@@ommahajan814 NOT AT ALL! It been Miss USA’s winners had no placement at the Miss Universe pageant.
Kentucky was my #1 Pick 🤍 So excited for her MU Journey 💕Loved the video Dani! 💕
I really enjoyed the new open discussion! I felt like it gives viewers a little more of an insight to who they are as a person rather than just as a contestant, especially when it came to the silly kinds of questions they asked at the roundtable.
I really liked your insights about not showing contestant videos because I hadn't thought about how those can be edited for a "type" of contestant and could influence the judging.
However, I wanted to know more about the finalist's platforms during the discussion session, and less softball questions. I miss that final two at the end as well.
Elle is going to do great, I have no doubt!
Omg your prediction was so true. We have a gorgeous and smart Miss USA. It’s so funny after Kentucky answered, the reaction was everything! Even North Carolina was impressed. Kentucky took the crown after that q and a.
Also, Everyone in the top 16 are so gorgeous. I really think that the interview should go first to really get to know the girl’s personality.
Hi Dani. The production is surprisingly better, short and precise. 2 hours are perfect for a live show. Zuri Hall was amazing and she can handle hosting the whole show by herself. Group discussion is a great addition. Would love to have the final 4 instead of the final 8 when announcing the winner (remind me of Miss World).
I totally agree with you regarding the video info of all delegates. I've refrained from watching any bio/information for the girls to avoid any bias.
My personal judgement is based on 3 categories; first impression (delegates introduction) and presentations for Swim/Athletic and Evening wear.
My scores for each category would be Yes (4 points), Maybe (2 points) and No (1point). The maximum score of 12 points and a minimum score of 3.
Tyra Banks vibes miss Maryland.. She has a strong walk.. But south Carolina should have a runner up placement.. Regardless the result love miss USA winner.. Well spoken girl.. ❤️❤️❤️
Also it's interesting that two women have placed as first runner up at both pageants and they both came from North Dakota.
Dani was speaking about the same contestant, She was the first runner-up when she competed in Miss Teen USA and now was the first runner-up at Miss USA. My heart goes out to her as in another year she could have won either crown. It's all about who is in the mix.
The only bad thing on the show IMO was the opening outfits, and the singer wasn’t that great 😬, but overall Crystal outdone herself!! 👏🏼👏🏼💅🏼
I also hate the moment where they botched the swimsuit music.
Great commentary Dani! miss USA is finally elevated and risen like a phoenix. The fiercest top 8 ever. Like i can see Illinois, North Carolina, Florida or Kentucky winning it.
2 things that have to be improved:
1) generic swimsuit / evening gown competition walk; everyone using the same template and personality & energy r apparently lacking
2) winner announcement is sooo rushed!
Love the recap. You are so good!! Kentucky is so deserving..
All the ladies were so beautiful, and do not rule Elle out.
I was very happy with the pageant this year I’ve never been the hugest fan of the Miss USA because of the prediction of the show was more about the show and not the girls and that was a huge change this year so excited. The host was amazing. I really like the way they did prelims doing interviews last Totally agree with all you said and the winner wow beautiful and confident and speaks very well I think I’m becoming a fan of the Miss USA program 👸🏼
Oh yayy! Glad to hear it :)
Omg!! Miss USA is beautiful. She'll give te rest of the MU candidates a run for their money,, bet on it
USA🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲✨
She's actually very tall. (I'd guess around 5'10) Here's a picture of her in sneakers beside Andrea, Miss Universe 2020, in heels. Here's also a pic of me beside Andrea. I'm 5'7 for reference.

Would love to have seen the state costumes incorporated in the opening perhaps as part of intros
Great idea!!!
@@DaniWalker I've been watching Miss USA since the 1980s so I loved the idea of state costumes in the opening number.
Or having all the ladies wear monochromatic red, white or blue outfits of their choosing to create a great American flag inspired visual on stage.
@@ML-xh6rd cute!
Your commentary was fantastic❤️ Absolutely loved Kentucky, Maryland, and NC!
Wishing Elle all the very best for Miss Universe. She is competition ready, and I'm confident with Miss Crystle at the helm of Team USA now Miss USA will finally stand equal with other delegates in the national costume and evening gown department, as well as her daily wardrobe.
Speaking of Miss Crystle, I like the changes and look forward to evolution of #PageantryReimagined
Let's go Elle 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
My heart broke for Nevada, I am incredibly proud of Kentucky though, she is a very deserving winner
She was
why? there must be a concrete reason why Miss USA Organization did not include him as a semi-finalist. It may be because of his close door interview and attitude towards the people in the Organization, pageant sisters, and each of the the assigned person that look for them. I also find his answers or the way he answers interview question very sarcastic and rude way specially in that boy abunda interview. USA needs a smart & sassy but not entitled and rude person to represent USA. He is not the one!
@@joshdoorman4076 why are you referring to her as “he/him”? She is a woman, please refer to HER as such.
I really think its because Asians always gets the short end of the stick and no matter how hard they work it never pays off and there has to be somewhat of a Bias.
He already made a point of being there. His presence is more than enough. I’m glad the judges still chose natural born women..
I do agree that MUSA2021 production can be improved. But it's understandable given its the 1st venture of the new director. As to the winner, Kentucky really sealed the deal in the Q&A. I like the format of the casual interview there we can really gauge who will shine in a group setting. But I also wish there is still a final question if they trim down the ladies to top 3. Elle's gown is fine with me as to the shoulder strap I think it's OK it gives an illusion of a broader shoulder which will also highlight that she has a thin waistline.
Thanks Dani for sharing your experience and observation in MUSA202. Have a great week ahead.
Loved watching this episode! You seemed like you were having sooo much fun recapping.
Thank you!
I was not a fan of the 16 to 8 to RUs/winner. I wish they stuck to the old top 5 then runner-ups/winner announcement.
I think you will get that at Miss Universe a week from Sunday on Fox & Telemundo.
The used to do it this way back in the older days in the 60s
What a great recap! Thank you Dani.
Yeeyyy, new video ✨ i am not into pageant but i like to hear your opinion etc and learning english also 🇮🇩
Yay! Thank you!
My major critique was Jarule as our musical guest. I understand in this scenario with Crystle being new it could be a “who you know” situation, but Jarule singing about “bending her over” and “having her in the back of a Yukon” was NNNOOTTT the vibe I feel these gorgeous accomplished women deserve in evening gown!!
The host was superb! Love her spontaneity
So talented!
strong candidate miss usa this year
Before they all had to talk it was Illinois that was leading for me but after the casual talk and question Kentucky skyrocketed. Kentucky owned that panel.
Still so heartbroken about Nevada's unplacement😭💔💔💔🏳️🌈
Really strong batch
I had so many thoughts watching! I agree with almost everything you said! I do hope in this era, they will bring the pageant back to either being televised or just streamed through something more accessible! I really didn't like crowning. It was RUSHED and I like when they do a traditional top 5! Also you could see the pageant joy radiating off you in this video and it was contagious! :) I did miss getting to know the contestants. I obviously had done my research but for my fiance watching with me, I know he would have appreciated the bios. I don't miss video packages! Get rid of those!!! I commented on a past video how one of the years in the past, they each had a day on snapchat to take us around and we got to know them. I reallllllly liked that and hope they use social media to their advantage in this era as well! Lastly, I totally agree with someone below that said have them do state costume in the opening to the show. YES YES YES!
I love the social media takeover idea! :) I think crowning was rushed too. It happened so fast. I was also confused because they announced a top 4, and they didn't say runners up. They called ND as 2nd place but said she'll take over duties if the winner can't. That threw me off.
As a humble former judge, coach and contestant I have watched this pageant with equal measures of enthusiasm and inspiration. I have watched winners come and go so I was not surprised but perhaps stunned that some of my faves (Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Ohio) did not do better in the placements or final rounds.
1) OVERALL SELECTION: We only see what happens on stage but I have heard that prelim judging (swimwear and evening gown) took place before the Judge's interviews this year... a first! The judges had a chance to see the girls before actually forming an opinion about them, loving their looks or anything else - before forming an idea about who the next Miss USA will be. I LOVE this idea. A girl may have hype surrounding her and yet dissappoint when met face-to-face.
2) CONTESTANTS: I already had Kentucky on my "Pageant Radar" from the moment she was crowned in her home State. But, I also adored Georgia because I knew of her from her days as an AU cheerleader and Pageant competitor. Loved Alabama too. First time a Woman of Color has carried the title since the 90's (She was a former student at Alabama State University who had competed at MAP three times). Others like Maryland, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kansas, and Ohio were also impressive but the cut was too deep to recover from. However, the training in Cancun and Texas paid off for both groups, Teen and Miss but Teen Florida was on fire from the word go!
3) SWIMWEAR: Those SHOES! So happy not to see "Tippy Tops this year. They looked like the plexiglas ones I wore in the 80's when I modeled actively, Loved the variety of swimsuits and did anyone notice the fan blowing below them at the end of the stage? Hair fluttered, suits with ruffles flourished and everybody sparkled! Best Walks: Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North and South Carolina and New Jersey.
4) EVENINGWEAR: Spectacular! I have not seen such beautiful gowns in decades and many of them did not even make the cut to Top 16! Best Gown: UTAH!
SUMMARY: Nothing is more special than to see your winner on that National Stage. They are winners in every sense of the word from the moment they become a MISS USA Contender! When that proverbial "Bell" and the "Fight for the CROWN" begins, its all up to the girl who leaves the most last impression, from beginning to end.
DISAPPOINTMENT: the quality of the judges and commentators, the opening number quirks and the final announcement of the crowning was not explained since so much else had changed.
OVERALL: It was a good first attempt by the new head, Crystal Stewart!
You have so much knowledge about the pageant production ?!!! Thank you
🙏🏼 thank you!!
Oh yes I do enjoy the opening discussion very much but i dont think the outfits change is necessary. I would’ve done it in a red carpet sort of set up (instead of the round table) so the girls still can wear their gowns. And agree with you regarding the winner announcement too. Even if they want to do what they did with top 8, they still could build suspense. They can actually copy Miss World, because that’s basically what they’re doing with the winner announcement and still have the suspense
When I met Crystle Stewart in person years ago, I thought she was an absolute powerhouse of a human being and wished more people would have a chance to know her. This production was all about Crystle in so many ways, and Elle is an IDEAL representative for Crystle's first winner - brilliant, beautiful, poised and present. She has Crystle's values in so many ways. So regardless of everything else that happened, the final result was perfection. And I happened to like a lot of everything else that happened. I did love seeing national costumes online and believe they could have enhanced the live production. I loved the interviews. I LOVED Zuri Hall - wow. Did not enjoy the music at all. That can change. Dani's reviews here are excellent though more could have been said about those who didn't make top 8. I thought Utah was excellent. I did not feel the same way about Kansas or South Dakota. Maryland seemed too 'aggressive' with her Girl Scouts reference and I agree that bringing it up a second time was a mistake. Texas was not credible talking about kindergarden and 1st grade as an effective, ideal in-school program. NC and IL summary comments were spot on. ND was outstanding. I was worried FL would win because I don't think she was ready for interview the way KY was. In fact, by the end, it wasn't close. But sometimes, the judges are the last to see that, even when the rest of the entire world does. So Crystle, again, selected the right judges to come up with the winner that the public saw.
I’m really happy for Elle! I think she did a great job! I think North Carolina did amazing too! I wish she would have placed a little higher or maybe even won! Great job to Kentucky though, and I can’t wait to see you at MU! 👑
LOVE this video so much Dani. There's so many insights, details, and infos shared. Great job. 😍🧡
2:20 this was my first time at miss usa and this is exactly what I thought when I say the show!!! Also very glad I was able to meet you!!
1. the, “girl chat” moment was awesome! i hope they continue that, and i hope that future contestants use it as an opportunity to BE THEMSELVES (relatively speaking). ky, md & nd were good at threading that needle.
2. ky putting her hair up for finals also contributed to the straps of her dress not looking so heavy.
3. what does one call the other 4 girls who didn’t place? are they just top 8? final 5? that format will take some getting used to.
4. you went competition professor on the vid packages… it makes PERFECT sense, and makes me give a lil’ low key side eye to a couple recent miss usa’s & universe’s 👀 lol.
in other pageant systems that have a similar format for announcing winners (miss world, miss international), the girls who aren't runners-up are just known as the top 6, top 8, etc.
I was rooting for many of these girls but by the final night i was really going with South Carolina. I totally agree with you she could’ve elaborated her answer more 😭
I must say that you did a very good analysis/comment about contestants' videos. It all makes sense.
Thank you so much
Florida reminds me of Tamaryn Green (South Africa 2018) and Verna Vasquez (Curacao 1997). She looks very Miss Universe ready with her hair down. I hope she would have a chance to represent USA in another pageant. Maryland is my sentimental favorite though. Her walk reminds me of Denny Mendez (1997).
Loved your analysis of the pageant. I totally agree with all u said. I definitely see the pageant becoming better and better each year with Crystel Stewart directing it ;)
Do you think it’s a bit unfair to have 2 groups in the roundtable discussion? The second group has more time to relax and calm their nerves down. Plus, this time, since it’s the first time they’ve done this, they got to hear/see how the first group did. I think that’s partly why the second group had better overall answers in general. 🤷♀️
Great job Dani!!! 🙌🏻💐
Hi Dani, how exciting you got to sit by Elle's dad!!! What a moment when she was announced!! What I liked: I thought the women were strong and I agreed with most of the outcomes. Kentucky and North Dakota deserved the top 2 spots, in my opinion. After Elle's macro/micro answer, it was over (she had won). I thought that South Carolina has a Miss Universe face, as well; she definitely relished the moments and had fun on stage soaking up the experience, but in the end perhaps more formal answers would've projected her higher in the placement. Louisiana has ties to the Chocktaw and Chappepeela tribes and not hearing her speak was a missed opportunity especially given the site location and some of the experiences the contestants had pertaining to indigenous people (I'm from Louisiana tho, so I'm biased in favor of Miss Louisiana(s). I do love that Asya had lots of camera time (she is so beautiful and she also had a great presence engaging with others). What I did not enjoy: The lighting was not flattering; The camera views were varied which I enjoyed but I wanted 2-3 seconds squarely on the face of each of top 16 (um, can we see what the contestants actually look like?) I thought the host was better suited for teen (too informal for me); I didn't enjoy Jah Rule (either time on stage)(perhaps I'm just old LOL); and I'm with you - announce the top 2 and let them face each other - in this case those two women are class acts and I would've appreciated their opportunity to share that lifetime moment. I could've appreciated a 5th place being awarded as well, they've worked that hard as it is. I do like awarding a Miss Congeniality too - our nation has forgotten how to be nice to each other. Regarding the top 16, they chose several women that look so much alike (the blonde hair, the same styling) that it made it difficult to have that standout moment (like SC's smile) and ultimately, I wonder if that's why there was only 1 in the top 8. But hey, at least there were blondes this time (it's been a very brunette affair in recent years except when Nebraska won). I appreciate your insights, Dani, and I love your channel. My perspectives go back to 1975 as a little boy when I cried when Summer Bartholomew (Miss USA) didn't win Universe LOLOL. We all cheer for Elle to have a safe (and winning) experience in Israel!!
Love your candor and tact...
Thank you so much :)
We said the same thing as you about the host! She was great!
24:17 -- I agree. They played the 2015 MU prelim evening gown instrumental music during the final question round and that truly sounds relaxing both to the audience and, more importantly, the candidates.
This year's Miss USA's production is like the common flow of Miss World in the past years, where they sit in q&a portion and calling the winners in top 8, there is no top 2 moments. Tbh, I like the previous flow. Well, it's just me.
They only ones I felt that deserved the crown were Texas, Kentucky, and Maryland. These were the only three who felt ready for the competition coming up in two weeks.
However, I think Maryland would’ve been the best candidate.
Kentucky gives me Kara McCullough vibes and I think she’ll place just like how Kara did (Top 10). Good enough to advance to evening gown, but not good enough to break into that Top 5/6 USA has been struggling to achieve lately.
Meanwhile, Maryland’s walk has a lot of movement and spice. It can come off as over-performing at times but it’s generally fun to watch. Plus, she’s an excellent speaker too. She would’ve been USA’s best shot at entering the final round :/
She stand a very good chance of taking the MU crown and her speaking ability are a WOW
I think she can place top 5.
1. Opening attire should have been different for the final.
2. Contestants intros should include more info other than them saying their names and states.
3. Swimsuits for the swimsuit competition should've been different for the final. Same sponsor but different style for the Top 16.
4. Delighted that Top 16 competed in swimsuit and gown ... yay!!
5. Delighted to see gowns from a variety of designers ... yay!!
6. Delighted the Top 8 had an informal interview to relax them before them answering their selected judges questions. (KENTUCKY cemented her victory the moment she said - "From a macro and micro". And the way she formatted her response with a solution. Yes, she understood the assignment 👏🏾.
7. Another change I would've added was a Top 4 and have them answer the same question. That's added pressure for sure and it adds more suspense. Also gives a perspective on how each women views a very specific topic differently or similarly.
8. Delighted that there weren't video packages. I've worked in production for a long time and when it comes to pageantry, I've often said how these packages influence the judges scores. So it was refreshing to have that component eliminated.
9. Choreography/production format for Miss USA should be different from Miss Teen USA for a multitude of reasons, especially since both events are on the same stage.
10. I Loved the Host - she was on point. The co-host seemed a bit nervous.
11. Delighted that men are back on the judging committee - yay! Although there should always be a former Miss USA on the judging panel. just a thought.
12. North Dakota, Florida, and Illinois placing as runner-ups was not too surprising... I mean their faces were all stunning. Kentucky's face, energy, and overall presence was very well rounded. Overall the Top 8 was amazing an no surprises there. I was only saddened the Michigan didn't advance to Top 16.
13. I believe the Crowns should be bigger and more elaborate than the newer tiaras for TEEN, USA, and UNIVERSE.
14. The Miss USA and MISS UNIVERSE competitions should be held at least 3 to 4 months apart. Gives time to media and visibility in various capacities to promote delegates and build up anticipation for the excitement/interest of competitions.
15. I'd like to see the judges scores be seen for the television audience - just for transparency during the Top 16. I know that's easier said than done though for a multitude of reasons.
16. Dani - great post as always... keep them coming. Because #PageantMania is in full swing with so many competitions taking place within an 8 week span.
Cheers 😘
Hola Mija, as far as I remember, I’ve predicted Elle of Kentucky to win😁I believe that she will do well in Israel. Please take care & stay healthy. Besos😘🌹
Dani Walker, the manner in which you articulate and explain pageantry, I believe if it was a required course or an elective taught in college, and you being the teacher. 4.0 is eminent. Clearly you have a deep passion this field, are we seen a school in the future?
This was a good show and the winner is amazing. I could see her winning Miss Universe
Miss New Mexico Christa Schafer is my ultimate favourite in Miss USA 2021. I was heartbroken when she went unplaced. 😭
She was on my radar. I thought she did well.
caitlyn vogel miss north dakota must really have that it factor and stage presence even she have a really bad walk / pasarela
Facial beauty.
Yay! 😍♥️
The last 5 minutes was everything. I saw that producer magic at american idol where i watched the lady cut the camera guy off then dramatically act out how she wanted the girl to answer... As for budget , Kansas had no problems😂 girl friend had LED lights in her costume hand painted by a professional designer and a gown from the same collection as miss peru 2020.
I agreeee with the video package.... cause watching the Miss USA 2016, the video package for Miss New Jersey would have influenced me to judge her to win....
Oh interesting. Thanks for sharing that.
I agree on the contestant bios and video packages. Those were not a part of the NBC/Trump era when I completed and not only do the “frame” contestants, it dragged out the top 16 announcements and took away from the actual competition. I felt like this was one of the best judged Miss USAs in a long time with that omission.
Yes, totally agree with you.
North Dakota has only placed five times at Miss USA but in those times it always finished at least top 6. And their 2014 candidate was also 1st runner-up in both Miss USA and Miss Teen USA!
Your favorites in evening gown and swimsuit just happened to be the exact top 8?!
Were they really? I haven’t looked back to compare. Those were just my show notes.
Excellent review. This is what a miss usa pageant should be. I cringe thinking about what Paula is doing for Miss Universe.
Kentucky’s answer is Karen Ibasco’s answer of Miss Earth 🤣
❤❤❤
Hey Dani , love your recaps. I wanted to ask if you could also do a recap on the Miss World pageant as they're currently having some of the pre-pageant competitions that would determine who makes it to the semi finals.
I know I'm late to the party, but I too really liked the new format. And they accomplished the "get to know" the contestants in a lot more normal and natural format than the video packages ever could. I kind of hope Miss America takes note! And yes, the announcement of the runners up and the winner was WAY too rushed. That has to be fixed for next year!
Florida looks like twin sister of miss universe Colombia this year
Despite the slew of new restrictions, Israel will still host the Miss Universe beauty pageant on December 12. Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov said on Sunday that participants will be granted waivers from the curbs while possibly being subjected to regular PCR testing among other health measures.
"This is an event that will be broadcast in 174 countries, a very important event, an event that Eilat, too, is very much in need of," Razvozov told reporters.
Oh that's amazing!!! Thank you for this update!
Texas reminds me of the girl from Vanderpump Rules, they look so much alike!
I called Kentucky's win from the start! Elle is something special and she's going to rock the Miss Universe stage!
AGREED!! I really disliked how they handled the crowning! The first runner up and 4th runner up had the same experience, there should be building suspense! For us it was like “shoot okay what 5 are left? Okay so they all either won or got nothing??” Super strange! I think Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina and Texas actually handled the round table discussion and questions the best. They shared the most personal examples that allowed us to get to know them so I was SHOOK with the final placements (other than Kentucky of course!) But I have to remind myself that it’s cumulative and the final decision isn’t based on the answers alone.
i miss the old soundtrack!! like the one used for miss usa 2019 crowning
Where they instructed to walk, turn and pose the same? That was very weird to watch, because the girls werent showcasing their uniqueness.
The poses had some variation but it looked like they all had to do the pivot turn.
I heard Michael Cinco will be her gown! He’s actually one of the sponsors this year’s Miss USA. ❤️😍
Yes he is :)
Wow.. USA.. Another threat.. Well it is what it is.. 🤷🏻♀️ She's gorgeous, captivating personality and can speak. 👑💖Won't be surprised if she places higher or even take home the crown.
I have a question. Why does the USA wait till the last moment to pick Miss USA? Wouldn't it be better to have it earlier in the year so she can more time to prepare for Miss. Universe.
Normally it's in spring/summer. But Crystle took over so I think it was extended so she had more time to plan. She still had less than a year to make it all happen.
Kentucky, Maryland, South Carolina & Florida were my choices for the crown.
I’m glad they went all the way to Top 8 & one of them actually won! I said it before & I will say it again. If one of them wins Miss USA, then prepare to put USA in the Top 5 Miss Universe!
I’m surprised NY didn’t make it. Not actually surprised Nevada didn’t make it though.. His presence is more than enough to represent whatever he wants to convey.. At least the Org still chose a natural-born woman. Kuddos to the judges..
How I wished they still have the video packages for each contestant just to know them a little better..
I also don’t like the manner of announcement. I was hoping the Top 8 would still be cut to a Top 3 & have a common final question.. And then have a 2nd ru, 1ru & then the winner..
Congratulations Kentucky and USA for having a strong contender to Miss Universe this year!
I’m quite surprised NEVADA didn’t place at all. It was almost like they used her for publicity
In with the bio of the contestants, out with the video packages
Tbh, I was shocked, when there's no announcement for top 5 and top 3.
❤️❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
I love the new Miss USA she reminds me of Vanessa Williams.
Since it was the 70th anniversary, i was expecting a better tribute. They could have done it right if they just mentioned the formers' names and years that they won. It wouldnt take more than two mins from the handful that were onstage. I understand that every second on primetime TV is precious but hey it's an anniversary show and Crystle's debut as MUSA main maven
off topic though, just curious why are you filming in the bathroom?
Best lighting and acoustics in her hotel room.
She has a great chance to win Miss Universe....I hope she does... North Dakota deserved to be Miss USA :)
Would agree with you if we were only basing off the final Q&A because she easily had the best answer. But the girl lacked in every other portion. Walks were boring and she couldn’t even stand out during the discussion round.
I’m glad that Crystal tried some new things because now she has a better idea of what works and what doesn’t work. As usual I pretty much agree entirely with you Dani.
In my opinion:
The opening “single ladies” outfits DID NOT work.
The discussion panels with the ladies DEFINITELY worked and I think played a huge part in determining the winner.
Female host was great. Male cohost was NOT great.
Music selection could have been better.
I LOVED the wind machine at the end of the runway during swimsuit. GENIUS!!!!!!
I love seeing all 16 young ladies compete in evening wear and I LOVED the gown diversity, but I wish that there was a way to cut down to a final 5 and have the final 2 standing there holding hands.
The announcement of the winners was HORRIBLE and very anticlimactic. Please give the “placements” back to Miss World and bring back the runner ups.
I still couldn’t believe that Nebraska nor Utah didn’t make the final 8.
It was great to see North Dakota and Illinois up there, but they both needed a Red Bull to give them wings because they both seemed to be dragging.
Elle is GORGEOUS and INTELLIGENT and was definitely one of my top pics from the very beginning, but her gown and shoes were a little “off”. If her styling is on point, I think that she has a serious shot at Miss Universe. 😍😍😍
I HATE the high slits in today’s evening gowns. 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️😂😂😂
Miss USA 2021, have to work on her walk. She will be a top 10 at least.
