No, Corel couldn't get them so he would lose no matter what. He would have to take extra time to bring more operators like Kew did. But he didn't, so he was doomed from the start

Enabling that beacon gives a ton of stats. Corel never activated it while Kew did. Because of that Coral was slower at killing the mobs.
The fact one used the insane beacon buff and one didn't kind of defeated the whole competition/climax. Seems even Vifer himself was confused about it mid-stream.

Extra operators didn't have much to do with it. Corel was doing more than OK with what he brought. Kew won because he activated the buff tower in the 2nd stage. That's means he shredded everything 3x faster and why his GG was able to clear out all the drones as fast as she did. Vifer is notorious for not knowing anything about anything new in Arknights stages (or at least pretending not to know) so he didn't specify if the buff tower was game or not. When someone asked about it, Vifer was confused and just said any buff goes. Personally, I think he meant one of the starting four buffs. You can even hear him refer to the drone devices as buffs. Corel either didn't hear that or didn't realize it meant the stage buff tower. Kew did. I think the 1st round should be played again, either without the tower or with both players having one buff activation at their disposal. But since it was a stream and the event is long gone, tough luck. Maybe have them both take on a random challenge mode boss stage. Not to mention the ridiculous seeded bracket based on nothing that really should have been 8 players (4 fights going into 2 fights going into the finale).
Kazimierz squad absolutely have no need for extra damage. Their buff is monstrous as they deal true damage for significant amount of seconds after deployment. NTR knight could kill any strong enemy and her long cooldown could be dealt with gravel(gravel module decrease kazimierz ops cooldown time everytime she is deployed so you could spam use gravel to use NTR again)

I guess the last bit really showed why GG is good for speedrunning this. Not much you can do if enemies just stall on undeployable tiles

Vifer kew use baff and he lost because time gonna be lower with baff = more damage and damage kill faster mobs then corel without buff

It was explained on stream that they can use any team (which includes premade) and ANY buff.
