    Very helpful tutorial. I'm currently testing Markup R-XP and it was nice to see some of the differences between the 2 apps. I can see where Pattern Keeper would be more useful in certain situations and vice versa. Since both are priced at around $10-11 dollars, it seems worthwhile to invest in both. Thanks for a very informative tutorial.

    I don’t use this (yet?) but I don’t really see any reason why it wouldn’t work for non-full coverage designs. The features are just as useful if you’re stitching without using up all the squares on the chart.

    • @SassyStaci
      @SassyStaci  Год назад +2

      Pattern Keeper has a list of designers that it is compatible with. The reason that it doesn’t do well with most cross stitch designs is because it is not compatible with any backstitch, French knots, or partial stitches. This is why it works best with full coverage large pieces (they don’t have backstitching). It might work for pieces that have only crosses but aren’t full coverage if the designer is on their list.
      I downloaded a PDF that was on Etsy for a piece that was not a supported designer and it had isssues. Pattern keeper could not recognize many of the symbols used and recognized some two different symbols as being the same symbol. You cannot change it if the app doesn’t recognize the symbol.

    Very clear and helpful. Thank you so much. One question. Does it matter which Kindle? I’m going to buy one just for this app. Will the cheapest model work well? Or should I get a little more expensive one?

    • @SassyStaci
      @SassyStaci  2 года назад

      This is the cheapest Fire as far as I know. I did have to research how to get “google Play” on the kindle so that I could download the Pattern Keeper app. You can only get it through Google Play. Don’t get frustrated with the process… in the end it does work! 🙂

      @@SassyStaci thank you. I’m trying out markup-R-XP right now. It’s a bit of a problem with an Orenco chart, but worked great with Artecy chart. I think it’s probably worth going with pattern keeper, but I’m still trying out this one before I get the kindle.

    Great Tutorial, just what I was hoping for. Question: Do you like to do WHITE first, or last?

    • @SassyStaci
      @SassyStaci  Год назад +2

      Sorry I didn’t see this comment until now. I usually do white floss before really dark colors because if you stitch a white x next to a dark one the white will pull through tiny little fibers of the dark.

    Love the tutorial, thank you! I have a question. I manually typed in my DMC colors and when i finished I made a mistake and duplicated two sympols the same color. Can I change the symbol color. I didn't see an edit button.

    • @SassyStaci
      @SassyStaci  5 месяцев назад

      Sorry I’m just now responding. If you go to the menu for that pattern on the Home Screen (where all your patterns are listed) there is an option for “edit legend”. You can change your DMC numbers here.
      It is a possibility however that Pattern Keeper did not recognize the difference between the two symbols and therefore automatically put the same DMC number on the two symbols. It may not have been your mistake. If this is the case, then there is no way to fix it.

      @SassyStaci  Месяц назад

      @@Marian514 I would suggest making sure the settings and shortcuts are correct for how you like it. Even if you don’t have a double tap shortcut to park, it should allow you to park when you have just one stitch highlighted. I don’t know a fix if neither of these ideas help, sorry.

    I have the patterns that I bought on my computer. I can upload to dropbox. Will I be able to use those or can I only buy at the time of uploading them to Pattern Keeper?

    • @SassyStaci
      @SassyStaci  Год назад +1

      If they came via email, just save your email and then you can save the pdf from that email onto the device that your pattern keeper app is on. If that pdf is on the same device as your pattern keeper app then you can open it with pattern keeper. Remember though that some designers aren’t compatible with the app.
