The space black is absolutely stunning and looks super high tech, but that silver (with the white keyboard) is super classy and timeless imo. Always looks clean and never will get tired of it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was in the Apple store last week looking at both colours of the iPad Pro and also the magic keyboard, and I was especially mindful that this was the first week of seeing these in the flesh, so they were very new......the silver and white configuration definitely looked better and less finger smudgy. My main concern over time, though, is if the white keyboard will look dirtier, especially the underside where it's placed and could pick up lots of marks on coffee tables etc.....I've never owned one before, but I kind of get the impression that cleaning the magic keyboard isn't as viable as you would think, any thoughts?

i don’t love the white/silver look this year…. but totally agree with your points and still went with white magic keyboard in the end.
i wished it came with black keys like with macbooks. the contrast is just amazing

Great video. I opted for silver after seeing the fingerprints and smudges on the back of the space black version at Best Buy.
i wanted to buy the silver iPad with the white magic keyboard as i do it with my M1 iPad Pro, but the white keyboard with the Space Black iPad looks so sick :D. Now i must rethink :D

Get the white one. Its gonna last longer, and look nicer over time, plus the aluminum will match your ipad color. Atleast those are my thouhts.
Interesting. I went with black/black because at the Apple Store, the white Magic Keyboard always looked grimy. 🤷♂️
Anyway, the screen/bezel are always black so I wanted it all to match.

I bought the iPad 13 inch in Space Black, but after seeing your video, I went the next day to the Apple Store and changed it for the silver color. Huge difference in the fingerprints! The dark color was always full of fingerprints and looked dirty all the time, as you mentioned in this video. Thank you for the advice!

Very helpful, thank you! 🙏 an additional point for me is that the black color seems to merge optically better with the black bezels when the iPad is in front of me. It’s a tiny detail, yet it looks smoother to me, from a design perspective.

@@FaizAlyI remember that you read a lot of books on your different devices. Would you say that the OLED makes the reading on the device much better ? I have the previous iPad model and since a lot of brightness emanates from the display, including the black fonts, I can’t read for really long. From what I heard the OLED allows the font to appear sharper , and maybe therefore easier on the eyes for readings. I was wondering what your opinion about it . Thanks again ☺️🙏
@@yosmuc OLED makes a big difference for sure when it comes to reading, especially at night when I have the black screen with the white text. The black pixels are as if it’s turned off and it’s just the light from the text coming. Overall the font seems a lot sharper and easier for the eyes. I might do a video on it!

I like the white/silver combo myself. Also, ask anyone who has owned a black car if they wished they didn’t because it tends to show everything.

imo silver iPad and black keyboard is where it's at. The silver keyboard has a weird white-silver combo which I personally find odd, it's two-colored compared to the previous Magic Keyboard.

Went for silver on both. Mainly because the Color always chipped off on my space grey devices
The only issue I’ve had with silver vs space grey and now space black is the silver frame of the iPad draws your eyes/attention away from the screen especially when watching a movie or something. Space gray or black gives you the look of a borderless screen which silver does not. And I’ve had them both through the years. With that being said the Magic Keyboard definitely looks nicer in white/silver. Although it looks dirty after a while, in regard to the outside material. When speaking of finger prints on the iPad back, why are you using it without some sort of protection. I never take the case off.
I was hoping he would address this issue. What is worse is that the textured screen contrasts with the shiny black frame of the iPad!
@@gosman949 impractical “upgrade” that washes colors out. Unnecessary and silly. Apple was just looking to add a “premium” option to a $2500 iPad. Bad move.
@@TheCdM1981 that is a big negative. Have you personally seen the textured screen? I have- it is a game changer!
@@gosman949 yes I think it’s horrible. How many people do you know do anything that involves determining what colors are perfect etc in bright sunlight? The answer is no one. It’s a completely ridiculous “upgrade” that could easily be achieved by buying an aftermarket sticker for your screen if it’s something you really want. Why you would? I don’t know.

It seems like Apple didn't apply the special "coating" they did for the Space Black iPad Pro that was advertised for the M3 MacBook models even if it was still susceptible to some fingerprints.
Ultimately, I was eyeing the Space Black M4 iPad Pro and the Black Magic Keyboard, but I am also someone who is bothered by smudges.
The white keycaps on the White Magic Keyboard looks nice as well and I hope it ages better than the black key caps which does easily get shiny over a short period of time.

Does the white Magic Keyboard not yellow or get stained more easily (I’ve only ever owned black)?
After owning a white one for a few years now, I have not seen it yellow. Yes there are stains and marks but I use Clorox wipes and it becomes super clean

The space black keyboard looks more premium IMO. If the white keyboard had black keys I think it would’ve looked much better.

Space Black is the one. Got it in the MacBook Pro and it looks fantastic and have ordered my iPad Pro in Space Black and Black Keyboard option. Looks good and it's different. Just clean the iPad if you are worried about fingerprints. It's meant to be touched.

On point, same reason for buying the silver iPad Pro M4
Dirt, oil, grime, fingerprints, etc. may be harder to "see" on the silver iPad, but they are there nonetheless. Your hands will transfer whatever is on them to whatever color of iPad you have. I'd rather see and clean it than hide it and ignore it. It only takes a few seconds to wipe it clean. To your point, the black iPad is an incredible-looking device, and IMO, the classy look is worth the few seconds it takes to wipe it off.
I wouldn’t recommend the white keyboard at all i had it and all the edges turn yellow and looks super bad and dosnt clean off.
You forget show how looks like grey iPad in black Magic Keyboard.

I have a white keyboard, and it was fabulous for 1 week. After a while, any white texture is horrible to maintain clean; it gets yellow, looks old very quickly, and gets a dirty look even when carrying hand sanitiser wherever I go to clean my hands every time I use the iPad. Black keyboard. Silver Ipad it might look nice, 🤣
Never faced that yellowing issue. Whenever it gets slightly dirty I use Clorox wipes to clean it. Works like a charm

Pro tip: If you buy AppleCare+ on your iPad, you can call Apple and add one Magic Keyboard Folio and one Apple Pencil to your policy for free and it will enjoy the same coverage as the iPad. A lot of people don’t know about that! My white one got real nasty looking after 18 months also, so whattaya know it stopped working (lol) and Apple sent me a replacement w/ credit card hold and I sent the “defective” one back. I’ll be getting the black one next time though!

The previous white magic keyboards got FILTHY. Maybe silver will be better, but without black keycaps, there’s no way I’d buy that one
Before even watching the video I can weigh in with confidence. My M1 iPad was silver with the white keyboard, and I’ll reveal the true secret behind your choice. Under many lighting scenarios, the white keyboard receives reflected light from the screen and tends to wash out the keys. If you’re a good touch typist, this may not affect you. I don’t have this problem with my M2 because I opted for the black on black. Also, the white will show a lot more crud and a lot sooner. 🤷♂️

Well said. It's as if some of these people just don't want you to use the iPad and just look at it. I have ordered Space Black in both. It's different. I have the MacBook Pro in Space Black and it is fantastic. No problem with fingerprints. People should just get what colour they want. Both are nice.
