Nice boat! I agree, this spring has been awfully windy, lousy and turbulent. Hoping we get more fishable days and weekends in NJ throughout the year whether it's by boat or by land. Tight lines Captain!
Awesome! Can't wait to see the success you have on this boat. You are right about the weather this past few weeks. Yesterday was the first day even wanted to get the boat out of the slip.
Good Luck !!!!!!!!! You tell him Alana Thanks to you & your crew for videos,Chris your a awesome person & your videos have got some of us through tough times
Beautiful Boat! You are so lucky to get the new outboards. My friend waited well over a year for a pair of Yamaha 250s and didn't have a delivery date in sight. He hopes to have 2 Hondas now in July. I need to get the trolling motor for my boat.
Yea man I got super lucky! Apparently they do the most re-powers on the East Coast so they get tons of motors. You gotta get the trolling motor. Beyond game changer.
Nice ride, enjoy! I own a newer 28T and everyone is impressed with the Contender ride quality and in deck storage. Customer service, thats another story.
Looks awesome and you will love the boat. Funny how I am using the 25 more then the 39. The Minn Kota is a game changer tog and fluke fishing!! Congrats
Great job , great looking boat exactly what I’m looking to do . I have a 2016 Bluewave 2400 with a 300 Yamaha right now It’s a bay boat , but been trying to do more offshore stuff ,but I’m not set up right . I’m down here in Louisiana on the coast . Hope you catch them up .
Chris that is an excellent find and a great looking boat. I have been looking for one like that on Boat Trader. However, they are hard to find. Am I looking in the right place or can you give me some suggestions on searching for a lightly used center console fishing boat? Thanks, Chris
Once I knew I wanted to upgrade i was on multiple sites every day. Thehulltruth.com, boattrader, yachtworld. And all the Fbook sites. There is one for contender, regulator, etc. When I saw this one pop up I called the broker right away.
Hey!! My name's Luke and I am 15 years old. I am in the restoration of a 1994 201 mako and need to bottom paint the boat. Could you do it on the trailer or if not how would you lift it without any major machinery. Love your vids from the contender!!
Thanks so much Luke. I painted most of the bottom still on the trailer. But you'd have to have someone put it on a sling or forklift to do the rest unless you had a hydraulic trailer.
Super nice boat. Best of luck and can't wait to see some fish on deck. Do you prefer through hull transducers versus transom mounts? I need to put a new fish finder on my boat and trying to decide what type of transducer. Your transducer looks nice but I hate to have to drill another hole in the hull unless its going to make a big difference. I mostly inshore fish.
hey what pitch props are you running on those suzukis? i just bought the same exact 200s for my 24 regulator and am running 23 pitch only hitting 5300 or so going to drop down a pitch. what rpm u hitting (regulator is heavier boat around 7k loaded i think)
You better be going to the canyon in that thing. If I can get a 16ft out 35 you got that all day. We used to run in the 90s a welcraft 248 offshore to the Hudson all the time np. Had to carry an extra 50gal but np. And dude you're going to be rolling solo ALLOT now. It's allot funner to wrestle large tuna and sharks by yourself. At least I think so. Something about reeling gaffing and steering all at once. Get your kite game up. It's truly killer on inshore bluefin
Ha! I'll keep you guys posted on my ventures. Thanks so much for watching. I was just watching Sport Fishing Magazine on TV. They were running almost 150 miles W of san diego and getting big bluefin on rigged flying fish off kites. Unreal surface strikes.
Love your videos, Nice Boat!! I have two questions if you dont mind. Did you use a broker to find the boat or look on boat trader or something similar? and second question is about your tuna trips. Do you charter groups for tuna fishing? I want to do a tuna fishing trip this summer or fall and trying to find some info. Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching Jose. 1. I look at yachtworld, boattrader almost daily. Even if i'm not looking for a new boat. I typically day dream about 47, 50 Vikings. But once I decided to upgrade the little boat I was on those sites multiple times daily. Also THEHULLTRUTH.COM and search the listings. The boat market was insane over the last year with boats going for top dollar and going fast. Best advice is narrow your search. start with size and type of boat. then make. then model. then search those boats every single day. When this boat popped up I called the listing broker that day and made an offer (not my usual behavior, but I had already lost a few boats due to other offers). Then survey the boat and you're off to the races. That all being said I have looked at boats since I was a kid. Have personally bought/sold/ran well over a dozen. If you aren't super familiar then a broker can help you find what you're looking for. Another good piece of advise is read, read, and read more. Then go look at lots of boats. The boat show is great for this because you can crawl all over em all that day and do quick comparisons. 2. I'm sorry but we don't do charters.
Captain Chris what’s your thoughts on a 1999 Contender 25 Cuddy powered with twin 200 HP 2016 Suzukis 600 hours. Do you see the Cuddy as a big set back for fishing.
i've never been on one, but it seems like the cuddy really cuts out a lot of the forward fishing space. In addition, I'd definetely check the fuel tanks on it. There are more and more coming up on the market so I'd keep your eye out.
Good looking boat. I have the same boat. I'm interested in the front seating. Would you know who built those for the boat. Maybe the broker knows . I'm also here in south Florida
hey sorry Christopher. I honestly don't know. Pretty sure Contender would know however. it is/was an option on those models and i believe on the 25T now.
@@reaperfishingnj8623 Thanks no worries. I live 10 miles from Contender and they won't speak to customers directly. Enjoy the boat. I'm looking to repower also with those 200's. How are they working out
I had it all done by re-power specialists. this place churns out so many re-powers. They did have to run all new rigging and do some fiberglass work. Not too much extra money honestly
Beautiful boat. You’re going to love not watching your fuel gauge drop so quickly now. Good luck and I’ll see you out there.
Thanks so much Danny!!
Haha i called it. 23T tender. Awesome Capt Chris. Best of luck with her, she is gorgeous. Looking forward to your first trip.
Yup you called it Brian!! Thanks so much for the kind words as always. Can't wait to get her bloody
Nice boat! I agree, this spring has been awfully windy, lousy and turbulent. Hoping we get more fishable days and weekends in NJ throughout the year whether it's by boat or by land. Tight lines Captain!
It's been brutal. I was supposed to finish my prep work today but it's just pouring and downright miserable out
Awesome! Can't wait to see the success you have on this boat. You are right about the weather this past few weeks. Yesterday was the first day even wanted to get the boat out of the slip.

If I see you spot locked at the triple wrecks in that boat I am going to lose my shit. Great purchase captain
Ha! That's some funny stuff right there.
I have the same boat, fish just south of you in Ocean City MD. We go out for Yellowfin, White Marlin. I Repowered 2 years ago with the Mercury 200’s.
Nice!!! Hopefully our midshore spots start heating up .
Congrats brother!! it’s always an adventure getting one home but it’s all worth it when you get some blood on the deck!!
Thanks so much. It feels like I'm never gonna get there....but it'll be worth the wait!
Looks awesome and you will love the boat. Funny how I am using the 25 more then the 39. The Minn Kota is a game changer tog and fluke fishing!! Congrats
Thanks so much Ciro!! The trolling motor is by far the best addition to any boat. I just wish they made em for 43's!!
Congratulations on the boat! Looks beautiful! Looking forward to seeing upcoming videos…
Thanks so much Scott!
Great looking boat !! Congratulations Captain Chris !!
Thanks as always Charles.

Congrats on the boat. Recommend the RAM stabilizer for the trolling motor and console enclosure with side wings.
I just installed the RAM mount and it's awesome. I'll explore the side wing idea in the fall
Congrats on the new lil-reaper
Drive her in good health!
Thank you so much!

Great rig! I'm with Alana, keep those fold down seats on the front! They don't get in the way folded down and you'll love them when you want to relax!
Thanks so much Andrew! We'll see how they work out.
