The dealership worked on my Durango which had a menu item called power steering default and you could choose three levels of power steering.
When I got it back that menu item was missing and the steering was stuck in a stiff sport mode. Dealer says they can't find anything to bring it back.
Any suggestions for me to tell the dealer?

What would I need to do if the VIN doesn’t show as the original or written? It’s doing that for my BCM and ABS modules and I think it’s causing a no crank no start. Also do you know what the secret bytes are?

Try this procedure first and make sure you have communication, good power and grounds.

2017 hellcat rf hub, invalid current vin but original vin is correct to the car and im not sure what happened during the initial programming..Vehicle configuration restore doesn't touch the rf hub at all ,not even reprogramming it with the same part number with witech will update the current vin which is simply labeled "invalid vin" ...only fix I see is replacing the rf hub again with a new one and reprogramming the new one again.

First of if all you need to understand how vehicle diagnostics actually work. There is no easy button or straight answer based just on the fault code you gave me.
Take your vehicle to a real technician that knows what he's doing
Unfortunately there is not many around.

Great video Auto Tech to Go!
Currently working on a 2012 Dodge Avenger with a 2.4. Used ECU replacement. The donor car is a 2012 Chrysler 200 with the matching ECU part # but mismatched vin.
The Witech, with the 3 required subscriptions, seems only to read the vin from the donor (Chrysler) module upon hook up and left me the choice to use and apply it to the Witech vin subscription and did so. Is there a way to manually imput the vin of the Dodge we are working on, or does that happen when you reconfigure or restore in functions such as you mentioned in the video? I certainly hope I don't need to buy another Witech subscription due to the possible error, but I'm prepared to do so if that be the case.
Your reply will be met with gratitude, like, and subscribe, sir.
    All the best,
    J.P

@@autotechtogo6290 Yes, it did work out. Thanks! Once I place the original pcm and began the program process, at a certain point or step before programming phase, I swapped it out with the used replacement unit. The PCM programmed and corrected the misfire I had. Man, to your credit, it takes a lot of patience and mental exhaustion to do this type of work daily. In truth, I thought about specializing in programming modules and troubleshooting, but me, personally, I'd lose my mind as modern vehicles with different designs of can bus and testing protocols can be quite involved that are subject to change and varies from model to model and the cost of replacement modules should used be unavailable, adds to the all ready stressful repair course, not to mention the client that is wondering how much testing and repairs will eventually cost! How do you keep your sanity, brother? Keep up the good work Autotechtogo6290!

I have Jeep Wrangler with HEMI 392 swap, I am second owner, no original PCM. I have blown my TIPM. I have a new, unused TIPM and purchased a PCM programmed to my VIN. What is best way to proceed now? Do I need to perform a restore? Can I even with my setup? thanks

    • @autotechtogo6290
      @autotechtogo6290  3 года назад +1

Most TIPM's will configure with the first key cycle while waiting minimum of 10 seconds.
I have no idea if your Jeep will work with a 392

@@autotechtogo6290Hello, thanks so much for the reply and help! Let me be a little more clear as I reread and could tell it was not. The swap was already complete when I bought it, so the Jeep runs great with the 392 and PCM that is in there which is not OEM. Then months later I blew my TIPM. I tried replacing my TIPM with a used one and it worked but I had a bunch of vin mismatch codes and could not initate ABS/ESC. So I reached out for help, they told me I needed an OEM PCM programmed to VIN (OEM) and that it would have to be plugged in (BUT VEHICLE NEVER STARTED) they then said I would need the WITECH to program the TIPM and that is where I am confused if I do or not. I hope this makes sense and at this point I would pay you for your time if you want, please email me if you think I need it jbmsurfs@g#ail.com replace # with m. Thank you so mcuh!!!

@@autotechtogo6290 your first comment was absolutely right! thank you. I did not have original PCM so I bought one off ebay programmed to my vin. I had to have that and my original instrument cluster plugged in after replacing TIPM and then after a couple key on 12 secs it restored and programmed my new TIPM to exact original settings. No etcs, no vin-mismatch, etc!! thank you!!! its was 2013 with the 3.6 as original just to answer your question! i cant thank you enough. no one was able to help me and the proper info exists no where on the internet, i mean nowhere.

I used the alfaobd program and accidentally activated the “elv replaced” function, now the car won’t start and is looking for the elv module, which the Chrysler Town Country 2011 doesn’t seem to have. Is it possible to register tpm again when there is no module?
