I grew up listening to @mceight in the 90s as a Hispanic kid in south central. I loved the culture.
Steele broke that down perfectly.
Brotha Eith is straight hood story telling G&banger.Respect 2 da Mc Eith💯❤
I still have a crush on Mc 8 ❤
Me too😂
I remember meeting MC Eiht in the Hilltop Mall.
Im listening to that Julio G produced track right now , AUTOMATIC
Eiht still put out Bangahz! Lessons 2 from last year is 5 mic’s IMO. I dig G Perico and Schoolboy Q.
Mc 8 is the 🐐 of WEST COAST
He’s wrong about west coast rap coming from the NWA era… west coast has always been versatile: Hieroglyphics, J5, E40, Too Short, Mac Dre and more all the bay… then you have Black Eyed Peas, Cypress Hill, Dilated Peoples, Dafari, Ras Cas, Alchemist, and more that were not from under the “gangsta” umbrella… the artists I mentioned plus others were really about the culture and none of the other garbage. It’s unfortunate that the socal artists still don’t get more credit, because they weren’t about that gang life.
Right they always put the West coast in a box
That's true, West Coast Rap in the 90's would tell the story - the upside and the consequences of playing the Game
Eiht is to The West is what Scarface is to The South! 💯
The song N2Deep on Music to Drive-by album pure 🔥 w/ MC Eiht + Scarface
EMCEE OCHO is to the West , what ice cubby isn't, A REAL West Coast Gansta Rapper
8
Ggggggeeeeeeaah
So was east coast too though
It's funny how nobody wants to say that today's rap is pure garbage and dangerous to the black community because they don't want the same backlash that ICE T got when he said Soulja boy was garbage🤔
Facts…That’s why I only listen to the underground rap music…Mainstream is trash like a MF
West Coast introduced the glorifying of gang culture.. It was not about no storytelling like that.. Slick Rick was still the father of storytelling back then.. Enough with the revisionist history, now that cats are older.. NWA, Quick, Eight etc. etc. were banging on wax & less lyrical, more bass production & old funk samples..
It was the west coast perspective
It was story telling of thier reality...
What about Acts like Ras kas , alcoholics , souls of mischief digital underground and many more not all West coast artist was gangsta
He just said he was young his self hks music was story telling what was that song from M To S
