Overlord is one of the rare case of a somewhat cliche story executed masterfully. The animation degrades each season until 3rd season ending but 4th one brings it all the way back up because the owners of the IP have finally seen the merch sale numbers and the author of the books actually strong arming them once the numbers were in.
Movie in 2024 and it will cover the best arc of the books.

@4:46 You might be happy to know the show has some dark humor, and sometimes a character exists to be dunked on and deceived or to bring attention to the characters surrounding them.
