Kingdom protista consists of plant-like, animal-like and fungus-like single-celled eukaryotes. Classification of these into phyla is difficult as they exhibit very distinct characteristics. There are different opinions about how to classify this kingdom into different phyla. Best regards, Shanty
Hello Vaishali, nice to see your comment again. First of all kingdom protista consists of unicellular eukaryotes and the other kingdoms fungi, plantae and animalia are also eukaryotes but multicellular. Moreover there are animal-like predator or parasitic protists (protozoans), plant-like photosynthetic protists (chrysophytes), and fungus-like saprophytic protists (slime molds). Euglena, which is a member of kingdom protista, shows characteristics of both plants and animals. Because of these reasons kingdom protista forms a link with the other kingdoms fungi, plantae and animalia. Best regards, Shanty
Protozoans have animal-like behaviours such as motility, heterotrophic mode of nutrition and lack a cell wall. So they were considered as one-celled animals. Best regards, Shanty
Hello Rishi, the term 'free living organism' means an organism which is NOT a parasite. This term is used in kingdom protista because many of the members of protista are parasitic. Parasitic organisms are always seen inside another living organism (host), an animal or insect or even plant. They cannot live outside the body of the host. For eg. the malarial parasite, Plasmodium vivax, which cause malaria need a vertebrate host (eg. humans) and an insect host (eg. mosquito) to complete their life cycle. They cannot live without these hosts. In other words they are NOT free living organisms. Now if you take a drop of pond water and observe it under the microscope you can see a lot of different members of protista, for eg. Euglena, diatoms, Amoeba etc. You can see them moving around and that they are NOT inside any other living organsims. Such kind of organsims are called free living.I hope it is clear now :) Best regards, Shanty
Protists show mainly four types of locomotion- pseudopidial locomotion (using pseudopodia), flagellar locomotion (using flagella), ciliary locomotion (using cilia) and wriggling locomotion (small worm like locomotion shown by sporozoans). Best regards, Shanty
Hi Shankar, thank you for your comment. If you find it too fast, from the settings button in the video, try 0.75x playback speed. You can also switch on the subtitles so that it will be easier to understand. I hope these tips will be helpful :) Also I will consider this in my future videos. Best regards, Shanty
We are planning to add Hindi subtitles for our videos. We already tried it for one of our videos ruclips.net/video/C54A7-IK1G0/видео.html. Please let us know how you feel about this. To select the Hindi subtitles for this video, press the settings button at the bottom panel of the video and select Hindi from subtitles.

It would be more helpful if u add subtitles.
This is RUclips. Subtitles are in the settings of almost every video automatically; as is the case of this video. Therefore that would be redundant.
mam why are protozoans called relatives of animals ??
pls reply mam......by the way ur video was superb
