Rusty Firmin - Clearing the Iranian Embassy

Rusty Firmin a fascinating individual served in a special operations unit known as Special Air Service (SAS). Rusty undertook missions on the back of the Munich Olympic siege, operated in Oman and the Falklands. With such a varied nature of operations, Firmin's story really provides us with a strong understanding of what life was really like in the SAS.

Remember watching this live as a 13 year old lad .. had a lump in my throat then at the sheer brilliance of this operation and whenever I see or hear of this action I still do to this day ! SAS are the best !!!

I well remember that day, we were waiting to fly to Cyprus, via the mounting Airport, South Cerney, but the aircraft was U/S so watched it in the Snooker Room, in the Sgts Mess.
