    I agree with Angela. I do not like the fact that people are losing their reputations just because an accusation is made. What ever happened to innocent to proven guilty?

    • @dnyce5201
      @dnyce5201 6 лет назад +1

      Jamie Edwards the reason for being considered guilty via an accusation is a form of social engineering to mk the masses view the 5th estate which is the media n social media as judge n jury...court of opinion can be easily manipulated than the court of law

    • @cairoxl5693
      @cairoxl5693 6 лет назад

      The media and commonfolk are changing that narrative. It’s a witch hunt. Even with the whole trump/Russia thing. We can’t say for certain that he’s guilty until we get all the facts, but CNN and MSNBC too often straight up call him guilty already

    • @jusjoshandthemic
      @jusjoshandthemic 6 лет назад +2

      The problem with "innocent until proven guilty" is that people take that and demonize the accusers by saying "Well, there's no proof so they're lying for attention." Yes. It is dangerous to assume that someone is automatically guilty but it is also dangerous to assume that they are innocent. This is not a simple issue AT ALL. Sexual assault/rape is really challenging because it is one of the hardest things to prove on either end. It's even harder to address these issues when you have so many people (especially MEN) that don't even acknowledge that rape culture is a real thing. When it comes to something that is damn near impossible to prove in many cases, we need to reevaluate what "PROVEN" means. In Trump's case, having 16 women accuse you of rape and then being caught on camera bragging about sexually assaulting women is more proof than most victims of sexual assault will ever get.

    • @cairoxl5693
      @cairoxl5693 6 лет назад

      Joshua McCool we have a justice system that is supposed to be fair, quick, and actually hands out justice. We don’t need to change the meaning of what it means to be “proven” guilty. There’s a reason why in our country it is “innocent until proven guilty” because in a lot of other countries (I.e China/North Korea) you’re guilty until proven innocent and that’s not fair. Also it will never be up to us to decide who’s guilty and who’s innocent. We have to leave that up to the jury/judge. When you change the way the CJ system works for sexual assault crimes then that leaves the door open for people to manipulate the system even more, especially to put minorities at a further disadvantage

      I definitely stand with Black women but Black women are THE ONLY group of women that has to be at the forefront even when a man is trying to lead, has to be right, and so on but when it comes to dealing with a real fight with men involved you will ALWAYS need a man to go against a man. So remember that when you're walking around with your chest out. Like you're stronger than you really are!!! You all went for the trap in the 70s when the government gave welfare to you all to keep a Black man out of the house hold. Depending on uncle Sam to pay you every month. Or even today working a corporate job it's a JOB you're not writing your own check! Independent my ass. Y'all better hear me!! IT'S NATURE!! The truth has been typed. Don't get emotional over this! I don't agree with Charlamagne a lot. But on this one I do. Both Angela, and Symone missed the point that black people came out to vote for Doug Jones. Whether it was 98, or 97% of black women. Whether 93, or 92% of black men. That's still 9/10. It's silly, and it's childish. In the 2016 Presidential election 87% black men supported Hillary Clinton. Yet look who got the blame first for Donald Trump's victory? All I'm saying is a classic case of damned if you, damned if you don't.

      And no other community but ours does this bs. Why are black women so instant on being in competition with us. What do you think the prize is?

    • @keithleepettway
      @keithleepettway 6 лет назад

      Seancarter2010 I'll throw this in, and its pretty lengthy.
      Example I. In my personal life. My male cousins are quick to call their aunts queens, but refuse to call their uncles kings.
      Example II. It's not enough for single mothers to have Mother's Day they hijack Father's Day. Now let's see if single fathers hijack Mother's Day what do think would happen?
      Example III. In 2014 Kevin Durant was the NBA's MVP he gave a powerful speech about his mother. Saying " Mom your the real MVP. " The media glossed over that. A year Stephen Curry wins the award. It was a tale of two different MVP's Stephen Curry has his father in life Del Curry, and showed how important it is to a complete family household. The media was slient.
      Example IV. Jemele Hill when she went at 45. ESPN was getting suspend, or fire her. Who came to her rescue? Black men. And less than a week later she cosigned this article by Damon Young. Straight black men are like white men. Very few black women called her out on it while the rest of them stand with Jemele Hill. Including Angela Rye, Charlamagne, Symone Sanders, and more. The point of those four examples is to maximize the value of black women while minimizing the value of black men.

    • @keithleepettway
      @keithleepettway 6 лет назад

      Kay You That's the big difference between 93% of black men, and 98% of black women. That 1994 Crime Bill that was passed by former President William Jefferson Clinton. That's why black women numbers are higher than black men. Also there are more executions of black men than black women.

These are both facts and they both should be celebrated. However, why does it feel like celebrating black women is an issue? Why shouldn't black women be proud or be acknowledged for something other than the physical? If anything, this should motivate black MEN and WOMEN to continue to show up at the polls. Period.

      @bluebirdredrobin6827 6 лет назад

      nick houston no it’s not. Misogyny has existed long before white supremacy and racism and it continues to exists. You can’t claim to care about black people if you’re only willing to show up for half the population.

    • @truehou
      @truehou 6 лет назад +2

      Bluebird RedRobin I’m a little confused at your response. What does showing up for half the population have to do with how the narrative of “black women saved Alabama through the vote” is a division tactic? BLACK PEOPLE WENT OUT IN DROVES to vote 97% of Black women and 93% of black men voted for Doug Jones).
      Serious question.

    • @bluebirdredrobin6827
      @bluebirdredrobin6827 6 лет назад

      nick houston because black women made up 20% of the voter block and voted at 97%. More than any other demographic. Historically, black women never seem to get the credit their due and people are quick to say we’re being “divisive” when we DO bring it up.

      He didn't do anything for the black community exclusively, in terms of policy (that I know of). BUT his presence as a black man (biracial really) occupying the highest office of the land representation that will ripple through the whole black community for decades to come. A child born in 2008 saw a black man for the first 8 years of their life, so to them, a black president it's something that was "normal" to see. So long story short, representation matters. .. hope that explanation helps.

      Things Obama has done for the black community that you can fact check:
      1. The black community seen the overall largest decrease of unemployment under Obama decreasing by 16%. The largest decrease since Clinton.
      2. Median Income of African Americans increased under Obama by 4.1%, the fastest income hike of the last 4 presidents.
      3. The poverty rate for African Americans decreased by 2.1%
      4. Healthcare for elderly african americans increased by 50% due to Obamacare.
      5. African American teen pregnancy decreased from 60.4% in 2008 to 34.9% by 2014 under Obama.
      6. Obama had the highest rate of college enrollment of African Americans out of any president, this was due to him passing the Black College Policy which required Predominantly White Universities to increase the black enrollment by 20% over a 5 year period.
      7. Obama increased funding for HBCU's specifically for the pell grant from $523 Million to $824 Million.
      8. Obama created the HBCU Innovation completion fund which is a $30 million+ fund geared towards increasing the number of low income black students who attend HBCU's.
      9. Obama gave 26 HBCU's $30 Million grant included in the 2017 fiscal budget, the highest money set aside of any president for HBCU's.
      10. Obama created a new rule regarding SBA, the rule allows for black people on parole or up for parole (within 2 years) to be eligable for a $50,000 or less loan for a small minority owned business.
      11. Obama had the highest rate of African American judicial appointments.
      12. Obama had the highest rate of confirmed district court judges, the specific number at 53.
      Obama has done a lot of things for the black community. People just choose not to research and actually read statues, policy, and read the fiscal budget.

      President Obama was screwed with a republican Congress. He tried to be safe.

      Not a thing-- I was frustrated that he pushed the illegal immigration and LGBT communities agendas, but played it too safe concerning Black issues...

      I fully agree. Debates like this from highly influential women like her is harmful to our progress. Yes women had more votes but that doesnt matter. We need to support each other!

      She wasn't being divisive. Historically, black women have always been treated as less than and have never gotten recognition for their strength and overall influence on many of the social and political movements in the United States. Highlighting that Black Women made up a big portion of voters who help win the dems the election is not being divisive. It's finally giving black women credit for the large amount of hard work they do and dedication they have. As men, we can't be upset when black women pat themselves on the back because hardly anyone else does. It doesn't mean they try to isolate themselves from the rest of the black community, it just means they are proud of the work they are doing.
