Mir Saeid Marouf Lakrani (Persian: میر سعید معروف لكرانی, born 23 September 1985, in Urmia) is an Iranian volleyball setter. He is the captain of the Iranian national team. He was named best setter at the 2014 World League and 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic qualifying tournaments, as well as most valuable player at the 2013 Asian Championship. He participated in the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. He was voted Iranian Sportsmen of the year for (2015-16) of the Iranian calendar by an Iranian TV.
Marouf's first national game was for Iran boys national volleyball team in 2001 and 4 years later, he joined the Iran men's national volleyball team. In 2007, Marouf became a constant member of men's national team but due to conflicts and disagreements, Marouf decided not to continue playing for men's national team in 2011 but he ultimately returned to team in 2012 and since former captain Alireza Nadi was not invited to the team by then-head coach Julio Velasco, Marouf became the team captain ever since. Marouf In the 2013 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship was selected as the Most valuable player. He was introduced as the Best setter in at 2014 FIVB World League above Bruno Rezende and Dragan Travica.

حمله تیم به پاسور مربوط میشه و پاسور نقش بسیار مهمی داره که با پاس خوب و سریع این کار رو انجام بده تا دفاع تیم مقابلش رو به هم بزنه.

They're mostly dumps.. this video is misleading, you should've shown his actual set ups. A great setter isn't attributed by his 1-2 plays, this one in particular doesn't justify how great this guy really is at setting..

You know what is the definition of setter in volleyball?
The word "setter" tells us all about what it means, setter is the one who can pass the easiest ball for the spikers to use their full power , of course not the one who is called "king of setters" but just famous about the attacks , he is actually not the King of setters, i think "a great setter" is more suitable

@@tungkiet9517 Agree! Like, Marouf is a REALLY GOOD setter. He's prolly one of the top setters in the world. The only issue with this video is that it showed little to no setting at all, they're mainly all dumps. Yes his *position* is a setter, but the clips shown here showed no actual setting?? So the viewers can't really see how Marouf is with his set ups, and his brilliance as a setter putting up a ball for a spiker.
@@tungkiet9517 That sounds like a great definition, but you know für definition of a great Volleyballplayer? It is a player who makes points and that is the job of every player, to find the best option to win/make a point. So it makes a setter a king of setters to see all these oppurtunitys like Marouf does.
