Not to be a hater, but I've played violin for 10 years and I can tell you that good violinists do not tune their violins like that, at all. They use longer bow strokes so you can better hear the note. Nobody does the rapid bow change tuning thing, that's usually used by intermediate violinists who are trying to sound cool. Tuning is an extremely refined and important process, and must be done with good sound and sustained bow (not necessarily at high volume, but it has to be a consistent sound or else it'd be impossible to tune). That said he's not a bad violinist at all, not amazing, but definitely more than good enough to play something like this. His style of playing and tuning is more of a social commentary on idolism in South Korea rather than a discussion about violin technique, since much of the "emotion" and all of the slides he does are extraneous and often frowned upon in the classical music world (not because some sort of elitist culture but because its pseudo-emotion). A real professional musician elicits emotion in their music through nuanced technique and musical creativity- not through body movement and "sexy" slides.

Exactly. It takes real guts to perform for people, even if you know them. Performing for a crowd in public is even more difficult. Real props to this dude and his friends for being able to do so.
I'm down with the two girls in the background, on the right. No phone, no recording, just immersed in his performance and the beauty of the moment. Yeah!
Then there is that girl that arrives on the left with 2 friends, whips out a phone to record, and when her less attractive friend does the same she elbows her til she stops and steps away. And when she tries to record from behind instead, she keeps on placing herself in-frame (no clue how she knows the exact angles to intercept)
You do realize that if someone didn't record this then you wouldn't be able to hear/see it right? Recording with phones makes it so the moment lasts longer than just the moment. Memory is a fickle thing. (If that was sarcasm please disregard)
Guys I’m crying rn 😭😭😭 I finally finished this!!! Granted it’s not full speed , more like 75% but I’m getting there! It took me 4 months! I started learning piano with a teacher 6 months ago but had 4 years of self taught learning to back me up, I love this rendition so much , dare I say more than Kyle landry’s
for a while i lost motivation to play violin, thinking i could never be good, but shin yechan helped me realize that all of the struggle and frustration and hours spent practicing would always be worth it in the end. progress update :D i managed to get second chair in my orchestra and impressed my private lessons teacher with how quickly i progressed. currently, though, i am taking a break from the instrument bc i stressed myself out over it too much i didn't want to start hating it, but i plan on picking it back up soon.

Actually this probably his first time trying out this piece at busking. The video uploaded in 2019, but I think the busking was way before that maybe in 2017 or 2018. There are other better arrangement versions of him playing with the band, you can definitely see the improvement. But no doubt, he is able to express his emotions through notes, I find that amazing enough!
It’s amazing how passionate he is, he had his eyes closed for almost the entire performance and he was just so engrossed in the music. Even though he made a couple of mistakes, I though he played amazing and really connected with the song!

삑나는 것 보다 E현 휘슬이고.. 줄 수명이 다 되면 누구라도 저렇게 날 수 있어요.. 지직거리는 소리가 조금씩 들리는데 현 수명이 다되었을것 같아요.. 엄청 잘하시는 거에요.. 완전 멋짐... 30대 남자도 반하고 갑니드아~^^

for a while i lost motivation to play violin, thinking i could never be good, but shin yechan helped me realize that all of the struggle and frustration and hours spent practicing would always be worth it in the end.
progress update :D
i managed to get second chair in my orchestra and impressed my private lessons teacher with how quickly i progressed. currently, though, i am taking a break from the instrument bc i stressed myself out over it too much i didn't want to start hating it, but i plan on picking it back up soon.

Я переслушал много вариантов этого исполнения этой песни на скрипке. И это исполнение моё любимое , хоть некоторые говорят что есть ошибки . Но самое главное в любом исполнении , чтоб исполнение нашло отклик в душе слушателя ( что и произошло со мной благодаря исполнению этого скрипача ). Слушаю каждый день и сердце радуется ...

Actually this probably his first time trying out this piece at busking. The video uploaded in 2019, but I think the busking was way before that maybe in 2017 or 2018. There are other better arrangement versions of him playing with the band, you can definitely see the improvement. But no doubt, he is able to express his emotions through notes, I find that amazing enough!
It’s amazing how passionate he is, he had his eyes closed for almost the entire performance and he was just so engrossed in the music. Even though he made a couple of mistakes, I though he played amazing and really connected with the song!
