  • growing up in the Caribbean , jamaica to be specific we had to wash and clean the chicken before cooking else our parent would go silly on us haha. We would always use vinegar and lime juice or lemon juice freshly squeezed because this would cut down the rawness and help to clean it , next we would wash then rinse under running water. This method was use to clean all our meat and not just chicken, as mom would say we don't know where or how clean where its coming from is..... To this day nothing has change still using this and method and now sharing with you all..... do share with ur friends and family....

      No need to “wash” it. As long as you have a refrigerator your chicken will not grow bacterial for at least a few days! But if you use it as a brine then it will definitely make your chicken taste good. And yes, brining requires a rinse

      why?

    • @TonyStebbins
      @TonyStebbins Год назад +7

      @@Unlimitedbutlimited washing/cleaning implies sanitation, disinfection, This process doesn't accomplish those. You have to cook chicken to a certain temperature to kill the bacteria that's inside.
      It makes sense to make it smell better, get rid of any undesirable blemishes and bone fragments, and apply a little lemon flavor. The people that have this process also typically have the process of bleaching their sink, which is always smart when you're dealing with raw meat, but especially chicken.
      I'm cool with the process, but not calling it cleaning or washing.

    • @serjicalforce

      Just cook the chicken to the appropriate temp and it will kill the bacteria.

  • @serjicalforce
    @serjicalforce 4 месяца назад

    Its a flash marinade. Ive seen videos where folks tested the difference on fried chicken and the breading stuck better on the marinated chicken. Simply wiping away the slime or wet film of chicken with a wet paper towel had similar results as the marinade. The difference is even if you rinse off the solution in water it adds flavor. So both were found to have good results on fried chicken. This method can impart flavor whereas simply wiping off the wet just gets the good fried chicken results. I might try this method next time. Just gotta be careful with that splashing.
