Fascinating to hear about the $2M Saturn offer, they should have taken a hint from the Phear guys when they also got poached by Nintendo only to get shit on by Atari anyways.
@@krazproductions I went there on the last day for about the whole day and saying the Gaylord convention Center is massive is an understatement. They have a small village inside the place they have many many conference rooms. They have Nerf wars there. It’s pretty much anything goes. I pretty much got my badge and started wandering around me and my friends got lost and one of my friends got separated from us. It was his loss because we met angry video game nerd some of the people from death battle I even busted their balls about the whole Goku versus Superman battle. but I have to say the place to be at would be the merch floor. They had so many video game vendors and people buying and selling things. I didn’t know what half to consoles were at the time now I’m kicking myself because I could’ve had Sega Master system complete for $80. but this floor was easily two times bigger than the Fayetteville comicon. They had your traditional booths people buying and selling things then they had nothing but tables with 13 inch TVs on them with every console you can think of and was and then the last part was all arcade cabinets, all shapes and sizes. It is the closest thing to a gaming Mecca I’ve ever experienced I met so many people there and I really really want to go back
09 would have been.... magfest 7 i think? magfest 8 was kinda the peak of my magfests. i'd fully stepped up to top leader position at magfest 6, and after magfest 10 i had to start backing out. 8 and 10 were probably our best years.
@@krazproductions I would have to say it was crazy. I was only there for the one day I went in and I got registered and immediately went to the center of the convention center. It is massive. They have a little village in the middle of the common which act like gift shops, and all on the walls, they were hotel rooms and doors leading to the other parts of the convention center, but the place to be at was definitely the merch floor half of it had your traditional merch booth, selling art and such but for the most part, they were video game vendors all over the place. I’m still kicking myself to this day because I could’ve gotten Sega Master system complete with two controllers for only $80 and the other half of the floor consisted of tables with 13 inch TVs and every console that you can think of all on free play and the other half there was nothing but arcade cabinets as far as the eye could see and that’s just a tip of the iceberg. I didn’t mention all the Internet, celebrities and different events that were there. I heard about a Nerf war Lol I was gonna go this year, but I’m definitely going next year
The Super Burnout guy was the king of the bedroom Atari programmers!
Cool interview Kazdan! Thanks for doing this.
Thanks man 😄 Paul definitely had a lot of insight dude.

That entire story is just wild to me man
I went to mag fest in 09 it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had every year. I want to go, but I’m always working lol
I hope Paul sees this comment. I'd like to start a thread where you two chat about Magfest.
What was your experience like?
