- I wasted my time on Saints Row 2022 Reboot. Saints Row Reboot review, spoiler alert....its one of my least favorite games ever played.

I think one of the points that many people miss as regards to why this game got so much hate is quite simple. When reviewers say "I don't expect Saints Row to have..." is fundamentally the biggest reason. A reboot after an eight year hiatus "should" have good graphics. It "should" have a good story. I really don't think that people necessarily wanted the old crew, the problem is the crew that they were replaced with.
The devs were too juvenile, acted high and mighty, spoke to fans like shit, completely steered away from original plots and themes, makes the game a personal creation that only the creator can like, something like a face only a mother could love, something like that anyway!
Yeah and after one year since the release volition closed his doors
It's worse that Volition called critics and fans of the original games bigots and terrorists. This Anita Sarkeesian-inspired abomination isn't worth the full price

I knew something was wrong the moment I've downloaded the Character Creator demo, most people that make meme characters haven't noticed but they made it harder to make attractive characters. All of the presets are ugly, unless you know how to cheat with the sliders most people will give up and pick one of the ugliest faces available. That to me already told the direction this crap was going.
@@SammEater even if you only Play Boss factory without playing the game.. Volition will include you as their player and give you Playtime while thats not good you just Trying the boss factory but they put you to their Player list even tho you dont even want to play the game.
They really need to remake Saints Row 1 and Saints Row 2 remastered because Saints Row 2022 is absolute garbage. The story sucks balls and the combat is horrendous. No real serious street toughness and rough cut shit like part 1 and 2.
I have finish up this game 100% and the fans reviews are 100% accurate with their scoring. Combat is so much worse than in Saints Row 3, and the main story is just so awful.
Honestly I don't know what game deves were smoking.
Ps. If only they would make a Saints Row 1/2 remaster for new generations.

I played for a couple days. Its awful. They could of called it a different name and I wouldnt have known.
The graphics are legit the same as 4 down to the crappy hair. The controls are horrible.
The biggest thing missing is funny.
Saints row was funny. This game has no jokes. It tries but nothing is funny.
The tank mission in 3 when Kenzie finds you the tank. That was Saints Row at its finest
If you're doing a reboot of a game, just reboot with some of the side characters the fans loved from the original game like Pierce and Gat. I think the environment was ok, but I would prefer to see a location like Florida or Monaco. If they do another Saints Row, they really need to enrich the story line, side quests. Bring back some of the familiar characters from the original series.
They need to bring back that you can enter buildings, enter casinos, have penthouses what you can enter. Where is the thing about open world when its not really open. Ypu cant visit the fking prison in the reboot. I mean why ? Its just laziness for me

I really liked the setting, the city does look ike it would be a really nice place to live.
But I hated all the bugs in the game, got sick of having to replay entire missions as the game would go to a black screen after the completion cut scene constantly. And the story feels like it was written by an 8 year old. the whole plot twist "I want your frinds to be my friends" was idiotic at best, downright immature banter at worst.
Aside from the original, Saints Row was always comedy balanced with darker moments, and whoever works at Volition now completely has no understanding of the franchise.
Untill you realize an overwhelmin amount of da assets is reused from da disgrace that came out in 2011 and then deep silver dares to say that people aint keepin up widda times is like 🤦🏻♂️
And no saints row is a duology and dont pull this "aside from da original" cause last time i checked lil dude; san andreas has humor, fear has humor, last of us has humor, and before you tell me yes every game has humor but theyre NOT comedys i say saints row neither, its a sandbox game done right just like gta sa; vc; 5; watch dogs 1&2; just cause 1&2&3, the saboteur, sleepin dogs; mafia 1&2&3, in sleepin dogs there are silly outfits and silly activities so now you gon tell me sleepin dogs is a comedy? please lets get our act together and demand somethin gory and mature instead of da godawful lazy generic free to play feelin stuff

The main problem I can see is that this "reboot" is literally nothing like the original game. The original game was based around a small gang taking over a city by taking out the other gangs. This so called reboot is some sci-fi, almost comedic, game show type of game.
Once saints row went goofy, wacky. I just didn’t like it as much as 1 and 2. But that’s just my dumbass.
SR3 has the best combat and SR1/SR2 have the story

I like the video and a lot of your points but honestly, you shouldn't base the series off 3 alone bc 3 is not the best example of what a SR game is. 1 and 2 is what the series was truly about before they lost their identity. 3 is still an enjoyable game tho, i fw it
I agree with you. For me saints row 2 is one of the best games to ever be made is on my top game list I want it remastered not changed at all just updated like better graphics I would pay for that I think at this point thats really there only option I hope they see that

The story sucked. Only 24 missions?? Least of the games problems though, I know Saints Row The Third lacked in its campaign but there were MANY solid missions, I liked the whole urban warfare thing when you burn their flags for example?
This game lacked like The Third did, which sucked because there was some potential here. I was in deep thoughts while playing this, had HUGE issues with Eli not dying from being shot. The lack of gang missions while it focused on Empire building missions.
The whole healing from executions doesn’t really make sense. I’ve never had an issue in a Saint game where I wasn’t constantly engaging people.
Huge SR fan! Played the originals when they came out, and was excited for the reboot but the shit was trash and the cosplay is what killed it for me!
One thing I love about these reviews of people that actually played it and finished it.... The game isn't terrible but it's not great. Its a fair assessment to say it's the weakest in the saints row franchise

Last dlc just dropped. Okay ao the first dlc had a good setup but it was only 3 missions long and the second was just a following mission with no shooting. For second DLC think professor genki activity without the over the top stuff. You dont use your character and have to use pre set characters with different abilities and weapon. Enemies are just the same as the main game ones. Fun though. The final DLC is 5 missions long and is entirely a LARP story with a few new LARP weapons and vehicles. If you hated the LARP story in the main game then you will hate this dlc too. I thought it was fun. I miss the activities and abilities of previous games though. No human shield or store robbing in reboot. Crash a bike into a car in reboot and you stay on the bike car takes damage. In older games you will fall off the bike and minimal damage to car
Is it worth $10 ? On sale at best uy

Shitty Saints Row Takes has not been active since October of 2022 and I'll tell you right now I have no idea who Shitty Saints Row Takes actually is but Steph and Elijah did not run that account because unlike you I actually take a moment to analyze how they post on social media and it's very different as usual you don't provide any evidence of those 2 running Shitty Saints Row Takes much like how you didn't provide any evidence of me sending a death threat to Saints Row Clips using an alt account and when I did debunk those rumors you continued to deflect it saying "you delete traces sending death threat to src scaring everyone doing terroristic behavior tryna be a good guy because your name in the srr credits". A serious question. As someone who has loved all saint row games on a deep level what is the most you would spend on this game $15?
20 to 25 dollars. I enjoyed some parts of it. The main problem is parts of it is repetitive, and the main story missions are short. And, the story is complete shit lol. I still had decent fun with it.
Just finished it myself. I would say $15 is fair, especially after the latest patch. It’s not a good game, but the latest patch made it atleast playable. All the points in the video are fairly accurate though. Don’t expect anything great, but there is some fun to be had. It’s a shell of the former series though.

Worst reboot* in the thumbnail. I agree though. They stripped all personality out and just put in enough of the bare minimum mechanics to call it SR. A character creator, emotes, outfits, and The Saints. There's nothing about it that makes me wanna say I like it more than GTA like how i still feel when playing SR3 remastered.

I know that the world has changed and things have changed, but you can't change a franchise that make people love from the beginning. I played SR4 first and little did I know it was a gangster game and I still had fun. I played the other SR games, but never the original and I still had fun playing the game. The reboot wasn't fun to me. The only thing I didn't like about it was the dialogue, the characters (except Neenah), the stupid missions and lack of clothing. I didn't had issues with bugs, but this isn't a game I would replay over and over. SR is known to be over the top. This ain't one of them.
the thing is. SR2 set the bar of what Saints Row should be. It became a template formula. Yet Volition themselves didn't followed it, only focused on making it Wacky/Zany

It was supposed to be over the top and funny, but they water it down because they believe what they say might be offensive to today's time. It's a freaking video game not reality.
@@yurilover5867 JIM BOONE is the one to blame. He allowed journalists to dictate how Saints Row should be presented. Instead of flipping the bird to anyone calling it a "Clone" (term coined by IGN back in the day, they even included Spider Man 2 as GTA Clone on their list). SR 2 already managed to balance between it's serious moments and comedic moments, and that worked. That's another problem. "water it down because they believe what they say might be offensive to today's time." flip the bird for them too. if they gets offended by it, it means they aren't the target audience.

people say saints row 1 had better graphics than 2 and im not sure where thats coming from but i always thought they looked the same, saints row 1 does have better car models but thats it. unless im missing something small i dont pay attention to like shadows then its pretty much the same (maybe because i play saint row 2 on pc it looks good) however i will always love saints row 2, its map, its pedestrian diversity. the dialog knows what it wants to be and not try to force humor like a modern family guy episode. we just have to admit in most studios the only devs and directors that meant shit are long gone from these studios, if not completely retired for all i know i dunno know im not a saints row 1 or 2 dev.
I think it might be the filter they were talking about,and I agree. Most games from the late 00s starting having bland,washed out looking colors. Gta 4,for example. SR1 was abit more colorful
SR1 lacking your character cant talk only in some part of cutscenes/Female gender... In SR2 they almost put everything even SR2 almost cant handle it
I think they mean da physics for hair chains and clothes cause its missin in 2 cause of havin to play as female took time and it needed time to have physics work which is fine cause da game is AMAZIN and that was back in da hayday of games but now its unacceptable specually when you have laaame products comin out and you hear developers mentionin technical difficulties is like... yeah you know i aint believin that, however saints row 2 does look better wit more details and draw distance and more colors

What is good? Map. It looks nice.
What is bad(Oh boy, this list is LOOOOONG):
-Story, it's so bad in so many levels. Our main characters are hypocrites but not in the same style as in older Sr games, where there it was done for laughs or to show psycho nature of our character. In here there it has NOTHING to back it up, they are hypocrites because writters didn't realise that some actions makes them hypocrites. The "main villan" well, it's funny how people roots for him more than for saints.
-Characters. Our pack is so unfunny and behave like toddlers 90% of the time. It's like 40+ year old devs wanted to write gen Z characters based on stereotypes. And i love how devs were like "We want to have more diverse cast in this one"... Yes because we never had Asian, black, spanish(?) main characters in SR games... Oh wait.
-Graphic. While map looks "Ok"; cars, npcs, and our character looks like PS3 era.
-Combat. Most guns doesn't have knockback animation, just camera shake. Effects looks cheap, and guns feel like toys at best. And upgrades are fully scrapped... Shame on Volition for that.
-Driving is somehow better and worse than in older SR games. Yes handling is better, but because cars behave like they are in mario cart, physic gets wonky most of the time. And this weird sideswipe is so badly done.
-Cat model.
-Animations.
-Overall physics. You don't even get ragdolled if something blows up near you.
-Jokes. I love SR3 and SR4 jokes, even if games aren't as good as SR1 and 2. Adult Swim cooperation with Volition made dark humour really funny. And casual humour was also good. In THIS saints row game, there are 0 funny moments... Unless you count the "death" scene of the car, this is funny but for all wrong reasons, because they wanted it to be emotional moment.

I honestly enjoyed the reboot and I hope it gets some more content in the future. Is it perfect no but it can be enjoyable at times with some friends
I enjoyed playing it. But I also enjoy bad games. Did not enjoy it nearly as much as the old games.
What bothers me is that you payed for it, coulda waited a year before coughin up dat money to not justify its existence at release

@@Rachebart I think what’s sad is how much the game changed the gameplay is a mixed bag I do like some of the elements but I still think it’s outdated and the story is skippable but I like customization and the soundtrack
@@superstan3290 yeah agree. But whats more sad is to me, that you cant enter the saints tower at the end of the game. Biggest L in History. I mean its a game from 2022 you cant revisit the prison and cant explore it. You cant go in any building. You cant go in casinos and playing poker there. In Saints Row 2 from 2008 you can do that. That is really sad.

The animations and graphics are okay, not the best, not the worse, it’s the least of my concern. The main problem with this games franchise (that broke twice) is the over excessive goofiness and weird cringe, your character that’s supposedly the leader of the saints makes Patrick Star look serious.

im playing it right now. this game is phenomenal. and i played the older games too. the setting is great. the missions r fun to play. it does what the older games did and made it better…

This was never gonna appease anyone, their is two sides of the saints row fanbase, one side is the ultra toxic and entitled fans of the second game that put every other game down and attack people for liking saints row 3 and 4, Then you have the much more chill saints row 3 and 4 fans who just love the more wacky and fun games the series. The reboot somehow manges to spit the face of both these parts of the fanbase and made a game no one liked. Saints row as a series is kinda uneven but this one... just feels like it was made for the sake of making a quick buck

Between 3/IV fans and OG fans. OG fans are the ones getting spit in their faces non-stop. That even comes from the devs themselves. 3/IV fans jumped on the bandwagon when the game became popular. They weren't present when it started.

The Saints Row community is the most toxic community of all time. I'm reading this comment section and its a whole warzone. Not just on this video but on every other video.The entire fanbase is divided with people defending the rebooting and people absolutely roasting it to the point of sending the reboot devs death threats. At this point in my eyes, The Saints Row franchise is a hot mess from the games to the fan base itself. I can no longer be apart of this sweaty toxic community for now. For now on I'm looking forward to a new GTA competitor like Watch Dogs 4 or Mafia 4 or a new ip.
I hope Hangar 13, or whatever team works on the next mafia game, learns from Mafia 3. Lincoln Clay and the story was sooooo fuckin good but the open world was a little lackluster. I think it was almost a masterpiece for what it was they just needed to up the “life” and things to do.

Instead of attacking the devs the community should instead should make their own game that is a spiritual successor to the original but no they choose to cry about it on RUclips. I wish to no longer be a part of this hell hole of a community. The Saints Row series finished at Saints Row 2 and you have to accept it and have faith that a new Watch Dogs 4 or Mafia or even a studio makes a new IP that is a spiritual successor to saints row 1-2 because it's been confirmed we will never get a saints row 2 remastered from volition themselves. The Batman over and out . I'm done with the saints franchise and this is my final comment on all saints videos.
Stop exaggerating the fanbase is not that toxic. Also you ignore how Volition attacked fans and even hired someone who came off more toxic than the fans ever were. They claimed the haters were terrorists.

I never played saints row for the story and people who complain about said story WERE NEVER TRUE FANS OF THE SERIES!!

Not for me, I have more than 200 hours of gameplay and I don't go more than a week without playing, sometimes twice a week. fun as fuck!!
