“I want your dreary Mondays”, “I want your complications too”, “I’m with you even if it makes me blue”, even the “happy” songs she wrote about him were about him being miserable but she was romanticising it. I mean, she literally tried to make their terrible communication sexy in False God. 🚩s from the very beginning
This was the surprise song for the night before mine, and when I tell you how sad a fellow night 2 Swiftie got when he found out at the hotel bar, that she played it night 1, instead of night 2, man he was broken. He did not smile once after that, and I think he left to cry. We ended up getting Dear John and Daylight on night 2, so I hope that made it up for him, and this is a bop, but damn, poor guy.
I think Fresh Out The Slammer references imaginary rings, is that what you are thinking of? Really enjoyed this reaction, hope you react to more off the Lover Album...thanks so much
@@Violet316 Oh, I still kind like that video. I like when she quirky too. I know we cant like all of her songs, but ai think it depends one he mood one might be in lol.
Maybe it's because of the autobiographical nature of her songwriting, but there are themes and phrases that reoccur in her music over and over. The story (or subject of the song) is not always the same, but her inner thoughts and emotions behind these stories are. Example: Paper rings was about (as far as I know) Joe A, but the "imaginary rings" reference you caught onto was (supposedly) about Matty H. Either way, Taylor sees herself as a simple woman with simple needs who just wants her man to commit to her forever. Thanks for this one, Toney. Looking forward to seeing more from you soon!
I second False God, the SNL live version. LOVED this! ❤ LOVE your reactions Toney. : ) (Editing to add I’m 65. That’s why I responded to your comment! 😝)
You referenced watching him breathe/sleep from "Tolerate It". And "people-pleasing" from Your'e Losing Me" (I think? 🤔) Great reaction! Love that you did this underrated bop ❤
The “I want your dreary Mondays” reminds me of “all my mornings are Mondays stuck in an endless February…”

Lover doesn’t get enough love
💯
Lover is her best selling album for a reason, this album has really grown on me. Some people connect the paper rings to death by a thousand cuts
Lover is my Summer album. I play the CD in the car every morning on the way to work and every night on my way home.
