I’ve noticed that the male characters in this anime don’t really move on lol, Himmel never married and died alone always thinking of Frieren and bringing her up with whoever he talked to. Old man Voll defends the village of his wife even though he can’t remember her, Kraft is still living and going forward for his human friends that have been forgotten by the world, keeping their memory alive. Stark is persevering and overcoming his cowardice to try and live up to his family even though they cared so little for him that he forgot his own birthday. (Except for his brother of course)
Even wirbel becomes a better mage because he promised that girl in his childhood
I can't imagine a more badass reason for a quest than breaking into heaven to say a proper goodbye to your dead friend. This show is built different.
Poor Himmel, all that hero work only for to be loved after he died
I would say that's beautiful because that's practically what he always asked for, to be remembered even if just a little
He was loved when he was alive . Frieren was too dense to realise her feelings and the fact that Himmel actually liked her too .
