Oh my goodness those socks!!! 💯 see Christmas lights! I can see this in the 50s Christmas colors of red, pink, light blue, light green, and dark green, etc! I’ve never done color work (aside from stripes) and might have to try my hand at the set 😍😍😍
Happy Birthday!! For sure, vintage Christmas bulbs, and like many have already commented, I had childhood memories of my dad hanging these on our house in the PNW!
Bulky hats are a great satisfying knit. Last year I challenged myself to knit hats for all presents I always knit one for my daughter every year so I have a large selection of bulky hat patterns I knit 10 hats between November 22nd and December 3rd. That included making 2 giant pom poms the rest were fur pom poms. Thanks for the pattern discount got the flower socks and pine mitts. Happy Birthday. Can't wait to knit the patterns.
Love, love, love your Christmas Sock and it definitely looks like Christmas lights and I love the light green with the white. I like the lights over ornaments. I can’t wait for this pattern. The cowl will work too. This is a great podcast on ideas to not just settle with your finished item. Take the time to make it fit or just right. Love your Field Day Cardigan and the green colorway. Awesome projects.
Instantly, I saw old school Christmas lights. (I flashed back to dad putting up one string around the eaves.) Well done on your green Field day cardi. The black buttons kick it up to “designer” level knitwear. As always, A+ cat content. 🎂💐🎉 Happy BD!
Your green Field Day cardigan is beautiful! I love the green colorway and agree that the black buttons will look much more sophisticated than the white. I need a V-neck cardigan in my wardrobe and it will definitely be the Field Day, inspired by your gorgeous garment. 🙂
I love the Christmas light socks! Saw Christmas lights right away and got super excited as soon as you held it up 😍 When I was learning how to do colorwork I actually used some colorwork sock patterns but was such a beginner I didn't know how to do all the sock parts. Instead I used just the cuff portion of the pattern with a slightly lower stitch count and made little can koozies. Would LOVE to do a set with this pattern where each koozie gets it's own light color and then you can keep track of which drink is yours at parties!
I definitely see lights and not chili peppers, and think they are super cute! I do not enjoy overnighting in the outdoors! I like to sleep in my own bed and I have curly hair which is it's own level of commitment that generally looks as if a flock of seagulls nested in it overnight.
Happy birthday! Looking forward to christmas lights socks and cowl. I'm a novice sock knitter so maybe the cowl will be first. Congratulations on finishing your Field Day Cardigan, looks lovely and love your button choice. Have a great birthday weekend.
I love the Christmas socks! No hot peppers. I actually like the navy blue but I am sure you will find another blue that will look great. I can’t wait for the pattern to be ready to knit. Love your almost finished cardigan. That color is wonderful!
That's a very cute design on your Christmas sock! I'm from Finland, and it's still the berry season here. That's probably why the first glance reminded me of berries. Besides, I use different kind of lights on the tree. On a real tree 😊 So, just because of a personal preference, I'd use darker green as the main colour to resemble a spruce. Love the sweater you're wearing ❤ Thanks for another great episode!
Hi Meeshy. The cardigan came out great. I just blocked my Vest No. 1 and blocking makes a huge difference as you know. As to the socks, I definitely see the christmas tree lights. But when you said chili peppers, then my eyes saw that! But honestly, they are lights. Thank you for always putting on great episodes. And watching the cats play is just an added bonus. Uh yeah, glamping doesn’t sound like my cup of tea either. Give me a Four Seasons any day. Patricia
Oh good! I debated not saying anything about chili peppers for that very reason, but I needed to know lol. Completely agree, I think that was a one and done on glamping 🙃
I love the Christmas lights socks! I still can't see peppers... I agree that for a sock, you might as well just make a sock. By the time you put all the work in swatching, etc, you could have one sock done. I wonder if adding a little fix to the white could add a snow vibe to the socks ❄️. These will be my cast- on December pattern in time for Christmas! So fun 🤗 Beautiful girls day cardi! It has been completely worth all the time you've taken with it.
Love the new sock design with Christmas lights. We used to have the bauble candle lights on our family tree. Brings back good memories. Will you be doing sock kits?
I LOVE your socks!!! I think the reason you're concerned about them looking like chilli peppers is because the wire is green? I think if you made the wire the navy colour or a grey it might look a bit more like christmas lights! Can't wait to knit them up :)
So I was worried that I was biased on the Christmas socks because I heard your explanation, so I paused the video on the image and showed it to my husband. I asked him what did he see as the pattern and he said “Christmas lights.” So … non knitter with no context says Christmas lights. (And they do remind me A LOT of the lights on the nativity my grandfather made.)
You got a link to the suri alpaca yarn? It sounds like it feels delicious! Also, i was seeing berries rather than chilies. I'm sure that will change when you brighten up the blue
That is such a perfect description of that color! Believe it or not, I didn't alternate skeins. I was a bit nervous about pooling, but I think it worked out great.
@@camderden2879 I completely understand! I actually bought these skeins on sale (at the HK store) as they were end-of-run skeins and the ply wasn't as tight as their standard skeins. I had no issues at all and thought they knit up just fine! I'm not sure if they offer those online, but they do have a decent Sale section in-store.
Would the beanie you’re making fit a head circumference of 63cm? My head is big and I find it difficult to find patterns large enough to fit my head lol 😂
It should! The sport weight gauge sizes have these final circumference measurements: 17.6 (23.5) in [44.7 (60) cm] and the DK wight gauge sizes have these: 18.8 (25) in [47.7 (63.5) cm]. Depending on the fit you'd like the larger size in either should work well, though the sport might be better if you want a snugger fit!
How are you able to get the reflection on the bulb in blue without carrying 3 colors (background, light color, reflection color)? They definitely look like Christmas tree bulbs. Maybe with a little twist at the bottom, you'll have Cinco de Mayo socks!
After having to rip out and reknit my Flax sweater 1 size smaller on two size smaller needles, I won't make a sweater with superwash wool, as I feel the size is too undpredictable.
For the Christmas lights socks: yes, they do look like Christmas lights. But the Peachy-orange color- the second color from the top- is throwing me off a bit. Like, the color is too Spring-ish(??). Otherwise, they’re pretty cute!
Bagel's butt wiggle is so funny. 😹 I really like the black buttons on your Field Day Cardigan. 🧶 I have a lot of "skein & a halves" also. And I'm like...what do I do with these? I really like your Holiday Beanie.
So yes, they definitely are Christmas lights, and the white is snow on an outdoor tree 🎄 Love, love love! Reminds me of home for the holidays.
Oh good, that's exactly what I think when I see it too!
Oh my goodness those socks!!! 💯 see Christmas lights! I can see this in the 50s Christmas colors of red, pink, light blue, light green, and dark green, etc! I’ve never done color work (aside from stripes) and might have to try my hand at the set 😍😍😍
Oh I'm so glad!! I feel like these will be so fun to play with colors depending on the vibe you want ☺️
What a great cardigan!! Looking forward to see this one finished... The colour ist fantastic! Lovely episode, heart warming and charming.
Thanks so much! This cardigan has been a really satisfying knit.
Happy Birthday!!
For sure, vintage Christmas bulbs, and like many have already commented, I had childhood memories of my dad hanging these on our house in the PNW!
Thank you!! I'm so happy it's reading that way, that's exactly what I'm going for.
Definitely Christmas light bulbs. Love the socks.
Thanks so much!!

Love, love, love your Christmas Sock and it definitely looks like Christmas lights and I love the light green with the white. I like the lights over ornaments. I can’t wait for this pattern. I LOVE THE SOCK and yes yes I do see the old fashioned Christmas lightbulbs👏👏👏
Oh perfect, thank you!!
Those are Christmas lights for sure - and I cannot wait for the patterns!!!
I'm so glad!!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad that's how the socks are reading, that's exactly what I was going for.
N0 question, the black looks much better. ❤ Love the Christmas socks!!!
I completely agree! Thanks 😊
Your green Field Day cardigan is beautiful! I love the green colorway and agree that the black buttons will look much more sophisticated than the white. I need a V-neck cardigan in my wardrobe and it will definitely be the Field Day, inspired by your gorgeous garment. 🙂
Thank you! I'm so happy I went with the black buttons, it was the right choice. This is a great cardigan pattern and I highly recommend it!
I love the Christmas sock! So amazing!
Oh good, thank you!!
I love love the Christmas socks! I definitely see Christmas lights and agree the blue needs to be lighter.
Thanks so much! Totally agree ☺️
I absolutely adore your christmas light socks! I am looking forward to seeing how they evolve.
Thank you so much!
Definitely see lights . Love, love, love them will definitely get this pattern when it comes out 😍😍😍
Oh thank you!!
Yes they look like Christmas lights!

Ok, drink koozies, SUCH a good idea!! I absolutely love that.
I also love those little scrap yarns for little color work like beanies or Christmas stockings
Yes! You never know when you might need a small bit for colorwork.
I think the Christmas lights cowl should be knit the long way around, so it looks like you're wearing strings of lights. So cute!Happy Birthday!🎉
That's a great idea! I'm still thinking of the best way to do it for yarn amounts too, the long edge makes that tricky. We'll see how it goes!
I love your Christmas light socks! Definitely want to knit them for Christmas 🥰 Thank you for another inspiring episode 😊
Thank you so much!!
I agree the black buttons look really nice
Thanks! The black buttons were the way to go.
I definitely see lights and not chili peppers, and think they are super cute! I do not enjoy overnighting in the outdoors! I like to sleep in my own bed and I have curly hair which is it's own level of commitment that generally looks as if a flock of seagulls nested in it overnight.
Haha as someone with wavy/frizzy hair, I completely agree. It looks messy on a good day, add in camping (and humidity!) and it's a recipe for disaster
Happy birthday! Looking forward to christmas lights socks and cowl. I'm a novice sock knitter so maybe the cowl will be first. Congratulations on finishing your Field Day Cardigan, looks lovely and love your button choice. Have a great birthday weekend.
Thank you!! The cowl would definitely be the way to go if you want to start off a little less intense. DK colorwork knits are a dream.
Omg I’m so going to have to knit those Christmas socks!
Oh yay!!
Happy birthday 🎂 love your sock, look like Christmas lights 😀🥰
Thank you 🤗
I love the Christmas socks! No hot peppers. I actually like the navy blue but I am sure you will find another blue that will look great. I can’t wait for the pattern to be ready to knit. Love your almost finished cardigan. That color is wonderful!
Oh thank you! I was back and forth for awhile about it. It's so tricky sometimes with colors!

Oh I can definitely see that too! Thanks so much 😊
Chevron shapes mean “Head of the House”. I think that would be a great name for your design! I also love the double entendre!
Oooh that's a great idea!!
Hope you had a lovely birthday 💜 Love the beanie and the socks🤩
Thanks so much!!

Oh good! I debated not saying anything about chili peppers for that very reason, but I needed to know lol. Completely agree, I think that was a one and done on glamping 🙃
Definitely Christmas lights. The pattern reminds me of growing up with those lights decorating the house.
Oh good! That's exactly the feeling I had while knitting it.
Those socks are so cute!!
I'm so glad you like them!
I love those socks! I’m gonna make those!
I'm so glad!!
Happy Birthday! I think the Christmas lights socks are super cute. I hope I'm free when the tester call comes around!
Thank you so much!

Beautiful girls day cardi! It has been completely worth all the time you've taken with it.
Oh that's so fun, thank you!! Glad you see the Christmas lights too!
The fit on your Field Day is SO GOOD! Worth the work. And that color on you is fantastic too.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad I reworked it.
Happy belated birthday! 🎉
Thank you!!
Add in some birthday wishes for you too. Hope you had a great birthday.
I really did, thank you!
Happy birthday!!
Thank you!!
Happy birthday 🎉🎉❤❤
Thank you!!
Happy birthday 🎉
Thank you!!
now that you mentioned chili peppers, I totally see it haha. I love the design!!
Haha I probably shouldn't have said anything, but I needed to know!!
@@meeshyfrazzknits they still look like Christmas lights!
Happy birthday 🎂
Thank you!!
Yes! I definitely see Christmas tree lights. When will the pattern be coming out? Can't wait to knit them.
Hopefully very soon! It's in the final stages now :)
The pattern in the hat makes me think of the shine of ornaments in the Christmas lights…does that make sense? Like the sparkle? Anyway, it’s gorgeous!
Oh that definitely makes sense! Thank you!!
Love the Christmas light bulbs. Definitely not peppers
Fantastic!! Thank you 😊
Love the new sock design with Christmas lights. We used to have the bauble candle lights on our family tree. Brings back good memories.
Will you be doing sock kits?
Oh I loved those. We will be doing kits for both the sock and cowl!
I LOVE your socks!!! I think the reason you're concerned about them looking like chilli peppers is because the wire is green? I think if you made the wire the navy colour or a grey it might look a bit more like christmas lights! Can't wait to knit them up :)
That's a good point! I love the green wire though because it reminds me of my tree lights! Oh well..
Goxh i love those socks..look so much like Xmas lights..you are so very talented. Any chance you'll do a kit? Love your podcasts so much
Oh thank you so much! And yes, we will be doing kits for the socks and the cowl ☺️
Oh my gosh.. you made my day. Hopefully the pattern is not too difficult
Oh that's amazing!! I feel like having a non-knitter recognize the motif really helps!
Your new hat could be the North Sky _____ something because of the yarn and the thickness and weather it would be worn in.
Ohh that's a great name idea, thank you!
You got a link to the suri alpaca yarn? It sounds like it feels delicious! Also, i was seeing berries rather than chilies. I'm sure that will change when you brighten up the blue
It's Fyberspates Cumulus, and it's absolutely fabulous! www.woolandcompany.com/collections/fyberspates-cumulus
That green looks GREAT on you!!! Did you alternate the skeins to avoid pooling? My husband said it looks like malachite in yarn!
That is such a perfect description of that color! Believe it or not, I didn't alternate skeins. I was a bit nervous about pooling, but I think it worked out great.
@@meeshyfrazzknits I would love to make this but can’t justify $30 a skein for my size and end up with a $150 garment. 😢
@@camderden2879 I completely understand! I actually bought these skeins on sale (at the HK store) as they were end-of-run skeins and the ply wasn't as tight as their standard skeins. How are you able to get the reflection on the bulb in blue without carrying 3 colors (background, light color, reflection color)? They definitely look like Christmas tree bulbs. Maybe with a little twist at the bottom, you'll have Cinco de Mayo socks!
It just uses the background color, so you're only ever using that background color plus the bulb color!
Do you think the Field Day Cardigan would work without buttons/buttonholes as a open front sweater?
Honestly I do! I have found I prefer to wear it buttoned since it's so boxy, but I don't think you need to if you prefer your cardigans to be open.
Where I come from, these types os Christmas lights never really existed and even I saw Christmas lights.
Good to know!
After having to rip out and reknit my Flax sweater 1 size smaller on two size smaller needles, I won't make a sweater with superwash wool, as I feel the size is too undpredictable.
That's totally fair! It's definitely tricky as it grows, and the gauge swatch isn't always accurate unless you go much larger.
For the Christmas lights socks: yes, they do look like Christmas lights. But the Peachy-orange color- the second color from the top- is throwing me off a bit. Like, the color is too Spring-ish(??). Otherwise, they’re pretty cute!
I would love to see that colorwork pattern in a sweater! ☺️
That's totally fair! Thanks for your feedback ☺️
Ohhh that would be SO fun as a sweater!
Bagel's butt wiggle is so funny. 😹 I really like the black buttons on your Field Day Cardigan. 🧶 I have a lot of "skein & a halves" also. And I'm like...what do I do with these? I really like your Holiday Beanie.
Hehe thanks! I'm just hoping all these extra skeins will come in handy for random colorwork projects or beanies down the road 🤞
The kitty butt wiggle got me 8:30.
Haha it's too good.
