- Rebuilding the Breaking Bad RV Motorhome Episode 1 we are rebuilding this Gulf Stream endura with the 6.6L duramax Diesel engine and Allison transmission on this kodiak c5500 chassis which was badly damaged inside from a previous owner we inspect the inside of this super c motorhome and start removing the terrible renovations and remodeling that was done inside this mobile home

Just when I was confused about the inside modifications to the RV the ladder modifications blew my mind lol.
The more I see the outside with all the foil tape, reminds of my grandpa. Grandpa would come out of the bathroom after shaving. With pieces of toilet paper on his face because of razor cuts. You need to cut the bathroom and put all new wallboard in before the new shower pan and surround and it will look nice. Trust me on that guy do it right and you’ll end up having a nicer product at the end. We’d love to see you at Carlisle in July with one of your trucks.

Instead of painting, why not wrap the sides and back. Might be easier and cover some of the holes that may be difficult to patch

Your a better man than me John I certainly would have lost my cool seeing such idiotic things done to the bathroom!!! Not that I wasn’t puzzled by all the other stuff you filled up the trailer with before you got home!!! Can’t wait to see the future progress and wondering how you are going to seal all those holes the guy put in and though the walls!!
tape around that bathroom sink almost as difficult to remove as on the ram pillars
Be sure to check the engine idle hours, all diesel platforms 2000 and later have a counter. But loving the progress!

A lot of stuff inside RV's are able to be replaced. If I remember correctly Dometic sells tons of stuff.
You should have it vinyl wrapped. Pick a color or pattern you like.
Might be easier to cover the hole if you get it wrapped
The slide has a "U" shaped seal. Is it touching the outside wall at all? It's not supposed to compress completely, just touch and maybe compress another 1/4". And there should be wiper seals on the outside. Also, are you sure it's a hydraulic slide? If so there is a good video on YT showing how to operate and adjust it. You might also want to get a case of DICOR self leveling lap sealant and go over all the seals on the roof. Water intrusion will kill an RV faster than anything else. Or, do like I did on mine, and go over all the roof seals with Eternabond Tape. It's permanent, so no need to redo them every year. Been 7 years now on my eternabond and it's holding up fine. Got tired of redoing the lap sealant every year. If you need any other RV info, tips or whatnot hit me up. Long time RV'er here.
Oh, yeah, RV showers are short. That's why they put a bubbled up sky light in them for head room. Just the way it is. And yeah, the shower heads are about face height.
It's got to be a great hand-grip strength or forearm workout ripping all that duct tape outta there.

Well, a few thoughts......
1st, I never thought I'd be so interested in the deconstruction of whatever the prev. owner had going on there, and return it to a normal r.v.
2nd, if the previous owner ever stops doing whatever he had going on there, duct tape and power strip companies are going to be in serious financial trouble.
3rd, I know you probably won't tell us if he did, but did they ever tell you what they used that for? I mean we all have a pretty good idea, are we at least close?.....😂
I know about as much about this thing as you guys do! I bought it from a guy that works for a dealership who apparently bought it from an estate sale but didn’t know any more than we do about it so we’re only left to guess! Apparently it was an old guy and he passed so everything was sold at the estate sale but who knows 🤷♂️

I suggest sending the motorhome off to be painted, then you can do other projects & get ready for upcoming events.
definitely bittersweet on the demo side of it as its been a fun puzzle trying to undo the madness but I'm also looking forward to making this thing better than ever and being able to use it! 😁
