    Great drumming - as another drummer I can only aspire to this level of skill. This is also my favourite Stryper song.

    Thank you! It's really hard to say what the volume setting is. It's different with each video because of how loud I actually played, the loudness of the original track and put those factors together and it makes many possibilities on the mix. Basically, I just listen to the mix and fine tune it until I am satisfied. Sometimes, as with this video, I take the audio from the video and import it into Audacity, compress and eq it and then add the backing track to it.

    I have seen all your drum covers of stryper and dream theater. You are an exceptional player, and got eclectic taste in music. If Stryper did not have the visual timekeeper himself, you should definitely man the kit. Incredible playing and God Bless you my friend

    Yeah, what tecna64 said.
    I actually started with two kick drums way back in the late 80's when I got a new kit for my birthday, I combined the two kits and started playing double bass. Then I went to a double pedal and never looked back. I've had these two kicks for a long time and I just decided to put them back together again.

    Well, if you check ALL of my other videos, you'll notice I use a double pedal on a single kick. There is a pretty big difference between the two. Two kicks gives you that bottom end on the left side of you. Double pedals (most of them) have some drag that you get used to. It's really just a matter of preference and what you can afford.

    No, I haven't really listened to it yet. I like the music but I have a little bit of an issue that Rob did not play on it, for whatever reason, I understand that but to me it just isn't the same. I will probably feel differently about it after I see them on tour this year and see Rob playing them.

    I really don't know because it was purchased over many many years. If you were to go buy a Pearl Masters Premium Birch, it would cost you between $3500-4000 for the shells, another $1000 or so for the hardware and cymbals would run you, well, I'm not sure, you can find that out by shopping current 2002, Signature and Alpha cymbal prices.

    Yes! It has no drag. I've tested it out and it is an amazing pedal. But it's still not the same feeling and sound of two kick drums. Trust me.

    No. That is a 2000 Series 16" Mellow China on the bottom with a cut down Sound Formula 16" Full Crash, now 13.75". There's a 6" Accent cymbal on top of all of that.

    You're right, roach, his timing is off. I'm his guitarist, and I can tell you, from the rest of the band, that his timing is off and we've noticed. Just the other day we said be at practice by 7pm, and he shows up at 6:52. The nerve.

    thats right, im pro, more so than my agent will allow me to share with you.
    And you should be glad someone had the balls to tell you your timing doesnt have to be a struggle, if you do one simple thing.... If you dont want to do it, then your drive and commitment are not greater than your ego and you will not be able to improve your skills or yourself.

    it is great "clean" drumming, aside from the fact the timing is inconsistent. I listened to the songs from the band and the drumming would have been kick arse, aside from the speeding up and slowing down. Only wanted to suggest more work with a click and nothing else to the guy because THAT is his job and that is the only thing he is not doing.

  • @solitaryg
    @solitaryg  15 лет назад +1

    And I honestly don't hear a rim flubb where you are talking about. It happens but I don't hear what you are talkin' about.

  • @solitaryg
    @solitaryg  11 лет назад

    I appreciate the feedback but saying "I doubt you could keep time for a real band of people" is just way off the mark, dude. It's your opinion and that's fine.

  • @s4lroachclip
    @s4lroachclip 11 лет назад

    AGAIN I MEANT NO OFFENSE
    I have studied with some great drummers, I am not insulting you, but, your timing being off is something someone should tell you. Sorry to be the jerk who decided to be the one. Are you aware of these errors?

  • @GregglyPuff
    @GregglyPuff 11 лет назад

    Lars Ulrich?? Is that you? You really have to find better things to do with your time. You think the trolls would be full by now..

  • @s4lroachclip
    @s4lroachclip 11 лет назад

    maybe so but professionally speaking you have all the coordination and basic skills, most likely most people would not notice but you struggle with the timing and as a drummer, you need to work that out... keep playing with a metronome or click track ALL the time, when you jam along with covers, it is not going to help your timing issues, though it would seem it would... Playing in time without a band or "song" should be the first thing that a drummer can do, or your band will replace you...FACT

  • @voidistant
    @voidistant 11 лет назад

    If you were pro, you would have backed it up.

  • @s4lroachclip
    @s4lroachclip 11 лет назад +1

    Constructively, from drummer to drummer, your struggling with the timing on all of your videos, your not giving half the energy that produces the real "feel" for this kind of rock. If the song wasn't playing, to keep you in time, i doubt you could keep time for a band of real people. I would be ashamed to put that on youtube....
    Keep practicing with a click of some kind.... next time lets see your band jam the cover... No offense... just giving some honest, professional, feedback is all
