Love the cooking content. You're blessed to have such a wonderful family. Definitely enjoy this time with your children because the old saying is true. They grow up fast.
You need to trim the suckers off of your tomatoes and stake/tie them so they grow up straight. Fish cakes look awesome have yall thought about adding some finely diced celery to them?
Love when you draw from the cooking and nutrition background and experience from OSG and come up with all these fun and relatively healthy options to spice up eating the same fish. Please keep them coming. The fiancée and I are taking notes for the spring crappie here in Ohio. Tight lines my guy.
For ALL your vegetables you want to water them with any left over coffee and also incorporate used coffee grounds into the soil. The caffeine stimulates and accelerates growth without the use of chemicals. My grandmother used to do this for all her herbs & veggies.
This is the video. If I wanted to introduce you and your family to someone who doesn’t know about you, this is the video I would send them. It has it all. I’ve been following you since before Emmie was born and I think this video describes this awesome channel to the T. Thank you.
I recommend putting some fish carcuses under the soil between the maters too! Adding worm castings, sprinkled around the top of the soil and lightly raked in (don't damage the roots by racking too deep) helps with natural nutrients too!
LFG, enjoy all your content. I look forward to every post. As to the tomatoes as well as peppers, cucumbers whatever, you have the answer in your fish bucket. As a fellow Texas fisherman, I use my fish heads in the garden. Tomatoes are ferocious feeders and the fish by products from your cleanings. They will help them grow and be very productive. Good luck with yours gardens. BTW, I make my own potting soil because the big box stores have dropped the ball on good soil. I use equal parts of peat moss, black cow manure and sifted potting soil to remove sticks.
For the garden, look into copper electrocultute. Sounds hokey but it works. Copper wire wrapped around a stick from one of your trees, and then stuck into each garden bed. Can also be done with a bit of copper pipe. Just try it.
For fantastic tomatoes, take a 5 gallon bucket and drill small drip holes along the bottom and sides. Then bury the bucket between up to 4 tomato plants. Fill that bucket with compost and water the compost when the plants need water. The nutrients leach out and directly feed the roots. Super simple and kills it at production and size.
What a perfect family brother lol trophy wife and all. Set such a good example or what america should look like. Your lady loves you bro shes so engaged in it all. Yall are awesome man. Keep it up.
That was in the cooler........not anymore!!! Love it!! Look up a good crabcake recipe from MD.....adapt the techniques....it may help....but it is fun to try new stuff!! Have a great week!!
Love an LFG upload! One of my top 5's for sure. Regarding the roosters, I'd let them be for now.... they'll either learn the pecking order or if he's stubborn he might lose a "battle/war". Common among roosters, but if they have enough space and hens, I'd say leave him. Nothing wrong with multiple roosters as long as what I mentioned is an option.
I saltwater fish down here S. of Houston & I'm forever changed by soaking the Redfish, Trout & Flounder fillets in Franks Hot Sauce! Oh my! Soaked in Franks or LA. Hot Sauce, 365° or so Canola Oil, battered in Louisiana Beer Batter for a few minutes? So delicious! Thanks 🤟
Skip the food processor. Broil the fish in the oven just until flaky (rare/med rare) and then break it into chunks with your fingers. Mix with OSG's ingredients and form into patties. Then use egg wash and panko crumbs and pan fry it. I use this recipe with largemouth instead of wasting good white bass on fish cakes. 😛
Great recipe, those cakes were sticking because of the cheese sticking. Give them a quick light flour coat before frying if using cheese. For the tomatoes, use those fish scraps and till emnin the soil. God bless
The only tomato you need in a garden is Jet Star, great homegrown flavor. For a side dish or or salad or just eat like Candy is Sweet 100. Its a must! Trust me these two varieties are absolutely the Best. You will need good afternoon Sun. The sweet 100's will grown up a vive or cage 6 ' then by October they will be on the ground. Just like grapes clusters of fresh Sweet goodness. Oh and I have canned these in Spiggety sauce. I heard not to use Cherry's for canning, it worked Awsome for me. I canned some Great Italian Spiggety sauce, when canning add all the Italian ingredients. It's Awesome. Remember Jet Star, Sweet 100. When you slice one on your Hamburger 🍔 you will think Damn!! Have a Great Summer!
Awesome episode Brother! Thanks for the Homefront style video, haven’t had a Lake Life vid in awhile now. I totally understand, hey my 2 sons were young once and ALL that comes with it 🫡 (they’re in their early 20’s now). Love OSG’s garden and that arbor. Hope them tomater’z come out for ya. Cheers with a frosty adult beverage to you Sir Rackley 🍻👊🏼😎
You should let me teach you to crappie fish year round. I'm in the dfw and fish a fee of the lakes you do. Give those tomato plants your fish scraps and watch them grow like crazy. Lastly try crappie balls and deep fry instead of pan fry. I made a video doing just that and it did really well. Not to mention the crappie balls were delicious!
The best fertilizer, you can make. Look up Texas tea. You use worm castings and water and molasses I believe. Bubble it with a minnow bucket style aerator and water with it. Look it up please.
The fish carcasses are a good idea for the tomatoes. Also, throw in some of your eggs shells, and old coffee and tea grounds into the soil. The shells provide calcium overtime as they break down.🤘🏻
Little white bass are at the surface, bigger ones are below them. Get a 2.5" pearl sassy shad, dye the tail chartreuse, 1/4-3/8oz pink jig head. Cast out and let sink, reel in below the ones at the surface.
For the tomatoes, they always say, plant 'em deep! What kind of soil did you guys use for your raised beds? Was it a homemade concoction?? Your veggies look to be doing great.
Bro I see that Garrison+Home Dish Soap!! Stuffs awesome. Loving the quick trip locally. Take me fishing one day! I live in Waco TX. Moved down here about a year ago from East TN (Douglas/Cherokee Lake) I’ve always wanted to join you on a trip. Fishing Freak Out 🤙🤙🤙
Tomatoes. Plenty of great tips given so I'll just leave ya with some info for next year's variety. If you can, grab some Giant Crimson seeds from grateful harvest seeds. They're delicious, big and one of the rarest tomatoes in the world, legitimately. Long story short, strain thought to be extinct, 80 year old seed packs found, 2 seeds produced plants, those tomatoes produced new seeds and here we are.
To prevent and treat blossom end rot in tomato plants, add calcium to the soil using fertilizers or agricultural lime, water consistently, mulch the soil, monitor soil pH levels, and remove any infected fruit.
Rather than add lab made chemical calcium, use egg shells. You can dry them in the oven at 325 for 20 min, let cool, and then fine grind in then blender. Add some to awatering can and feed the plants. It's also just about the best source of calcium for humans as well, about tsp per day added to food/drink.
Justin I definitely no it would be hard but with as few hens that you have and two cocks that don’t get along will definitely make the hole flock unhappy for sure and can also get the egg production down also!!! You definitely need to get rid of one of the roosters for sure so that everyone is happy again!!! We have had tons and tons of chickens over the past 20 years and it’s best for one rooster for every 12 to 14 chickens and that way they aren’t all getting attacked every 10 minutes if you no what I mean??? Lol!! Oh and for those big tomatoes I’d definitely be taking all those fish carcasses and bearing them in the soil with the tomatoes and that will definitely help the tomatoes out a bunch also!!! Well hopefully this helps you out and what an amazing video buddy and remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!!! Definitely can’t weight for you to get on a good crappie bit also!!!
Mr Penny was first! The other bird can take a hike and live down by the dock's. The only way I've been able to catch any crappie has been dock shooting, they're all hiding way back under big pontoons and other boat's on lift's 🤷 As far as white's go, apparently they're not that plentiful around here because unless it's spawn time and they're running up the river it's pretty tough to find em'. But have to agree with you on the smaller male's being the best eating one's! Mainly because that red strip is almost non existent in small one's.
My experience having two mature males together usually ends terribly with one of them, killing the other but that’s my experience and by the way, thanks for the tips over the years
if you want big tomatoes put them in sunlight, my uncle grew some big ones using miracle grow and pure sunlight, id say 12hr+ of sunlight be3cause he has them in the backyyard where the sun always shined, im not sure tho, i grow mediums ones where the suns comes up out of the east. put them on the west side of my house, jalapenos too
Need to get rid of 1 rooster for sure As for tomatoes, you need a higher fence around them or the deer will eat them. Otherwise lots a sun plenty of water, if it gets really hot, spray them mid day to cool them off. If you don't get enough I'll mail you some. I've got 14 plants going this year.
It looks like Yall are dmg0onna have to choose becausebMr Penny cant get away! Awesome recipe 🎉. So mice to see you Steph 😊. Your Baby Girl is growin up ❤. JO JO IN VT 💞
IDEA.. Right after you sang that tune of OSG in the kitchen, i thought you should create like a lil sub section of your catch and cook videos where you sing that tune with some background music and then a whole cover picture pops up with the title "OSG in the kitchen" (or whatever name of the cooking segment) and then bam, straight to the cooking segment
Put some of those old fish carcasses under the soil of those tomatoes & watch 'em bloom
First hand I know this works good 👍🏻
I love ur little family. Y’all are as goofy together as I was with my kids.
God bless u all
7 years later I’m still watching LFG tear it up!!! Great video, glad to see you still making videos !!!!

Oh how I've missed videos of the whole family!!! 🥰
good stuff brother. your family is an inspiration. Emmy is getting so dang big... Little Ben too. Love it. keep em comin LFG.
For the garden, look into copper electrocultute. Sounds hokey but it works. Copper wire wrapped around a stick from one of your trees, and then stuck into each garden bed. Can also be done with a bit of copper pipe. Just try it.
And definitely use your fish scraps under them plants bout 18 inches or so and you'll have some big ol, juicy tomatoes
Like your last name

Wow, little Ben and Emmy are getting so big!
Great day when LFG uploads a video
Love seeing the family! The kids are getting so big❤
Hey… if you ever feel like doing a video on that water system for your garden, I’d be interested!
Just caught my first fish of the year the other day and it was a white bass. Nice video. Definitely trying this recipe
The best fertilizer, you can make. Look up Texas tea. You use worm castings and water and molasses I believe. Bubble it with a minnow bucket style aerator and water with it. Look it up please.

Family goals
One of the only googen guys I watch anymore. Keep it up y’all.
Another dope video I alway forget you have a little homestead type deal at home. Very nice house by the way. Man that was some fun fishing
Love the frog mug! Take out the mean roster!
Little white bass are at the surface, bigger ones are below them. Get a 2.5" pearl sassy shad, dye the tail chartreuse, 1/4-3/8oz pink jig head. Cast out and let sink, reel in below the ones at the surface.
Y’all are the cutest perfect couple!
Love the fam, keep all the nature stuff coming!
Thanks for the video💜!! Your family made my day and made me smile💜🐟!!
For the tomatoes, they always say, plant 'em deep! What kind of soil did you guys use for your raised beds? Was it a homemade concoction?? Your veggies look to be doing great.
Love catch clean and cooks man 🤘🏻💪🏻
You are living the dream! Love the videos LFG.
Coffee grounds and seaweed based liquids to the soil. For everything but definitely tomatoes.
Great video brother, you make Googans legit. 🤙🏽
"Well you need to catch more." Savage
That crappie soft bag full of the new hotness ❤❤❤ 😍
I like to brown fish cakes in olive oil then in the oven for 15-20 mins at 350 deg.
Howdy we always raised beefsteak tomatoes for years and they were really good and big
Thanks for posting this! Coming into fishing season here in Arkansas I am always looking for new recipes and cant wait to try this one out!
Fishing Freak Out 🤙🤙🤙
Bring back lake life family!!
Fried green tomatoes so good but manure and fish remains oh yeah LFG OHHHHH YEAH.
The kids are getting so big!!
Snip off the early tomato flowers that will produce meh tomatoes. The energy saved will go into growing a heartier plant and thus better tomatoes.
Love all your content LFG
Every time I watch you guys, I sure do miss Winston…

Hey OSG, try it with cornbread batter. The cornmeal should give it a lot more texture on the bite. Love the fam stuff too.
Great family, great video! Just subbed!
this video had me laughin man always a good watch!
OSG needs to make a wild game cookbook. You shoot enough and catch enough critters so yea start with that rooster.
That was so funny how your daughter was telling you about where your shoes go and how your not putting your shoes were there supposed to go.

THE WHOLE FAMILY COMBO, FISH CAKES, I'M HUNGRY!!!
All I can say is that looks pretty darn good
After filleting fish I use the carcasses in my garden
As soon as I saw those gulls I said to myself White Bass would work fine for some fish patties!
Justin I definitely no it would be hard but with as few hens that you have and two cocks that don’t get along will definitely make the hole flock unhappy for sure and can also get the egg production down also!!! Bonemeal aids in the uptake of calcium that tomatoes 🍅 need. That’s what what I use in Oklahoma!

What about making another roost for Mr. Penny? Does that work? But those fish cakes looked amazing
I love the crocs
white bass here are still pushing up in creeks, the hybrids and stripers are in the river, btw im in georgia
the lake? i havent tried yet lol we usual catch white/hybrids in the lake
My experience having two mature males together usually ends terribly with one of them, killing the other but that’s my experience and by the way, thanks for the tips over the years
Justin...bass is excellent

LFG! What’s up buddy? Love your videos!
Daggone, OSG's genes be STRONG in those kiddos. LOL
More hens [ cornel sanders] 7 hens per one rooster 🐓 catch and cooks video so cool
I tell you brother you got it made 😎🌞
I think it is advertised as "high temp for olive oil" and that is about 15-20 degrees more than normal olive oil.
I recommend a nice thai recipe for one of those roosters.
Brother you know white bass is an oily fish so I’ve been thinking of putting some on the grill on the half shell like red fish
Just saying if osg came out with a set of kitchen utensils/ pot and pan set me and my wife would for sure buy them
Awesome video. .

Can't believe Ben is walking so good
Crush up some garlic butter ritz and dredge them in ranch and deep fry them. They will be awesome.
