I do 80 minutes of bike riding every day ( I mean every day). Where I live there are lots of hills so I get a good muscle work out, especially if I get out off the saddle for the climbs. This works for me to get rid of the fatigue from the ADT ( Lupron and Apalutamide)
The worst is being in a continual sweating condition. I could drowned in my own sweat. Nobody told me "hot flashes" could be continual! You never talk about that.
Try getting Lupron during 5 months with a catheter. It was/is all I can do to keep my spirits up and sense of humor going. I started taking B-12, 5,000mcg(Methylcarbamol). Now walking one mile a day, I used to do 3 miles about 5 days a week, that is my goal to get back to. Also Chi Kung stretching exercises to work my core muscles. Bets of luck to all, things can get better, stay positive and work hard.
@@edemmick3411 Yea every day .They don’t tell about this little gem until your already committed too the radiation and hormones. Pure hell is putting it mildly .
My doctor at the Cross Cancer institute coerced me into getting a six month shot of Eligard without informing me about all the horrific and long term effects of this toxic crap that totally destroyed my quality of life and continues to keep me well below castrate level 5 months after the six months expired, with little hope of ever getting my testosterone level back to normal. I totally refuse any more if this quality of life destroying, and life threatening poison. She threatened me that she wouldn't let me off ADT for at least a year, and that I could never ever go on Testosterone Replacement therapy. Well, never going back to that doctor. She never mentioned anything about taking Casodex as an alternative. Coercing ADT without free and fully informed consent is criminal assault causing greivois bodily harm.
If on hormone therapy that suppresses testosterone, then you go to the gym and gain muscle, muscle gain elevates testosterone productivity....this leaves me a bit confused.
Hello, I am not an expert, but I have heard a few different doctors at our conferences over the years stress the importance of resistance training to mitigate the fatigue from ADT. My understanding is that while all exercises are a mix of resistance and cardio, swimming is mostly cardio, which is great--especially for heart health, since heart disease is the number 1 killer of men including men with prostate cancer--but the fatigue from hormone therapy comes from muscle wasting which is best counteracted with resistance style training. However, since you swim such a long distance, it is possible that your swimming could be building enough muscle to counteract the muscle loss of low testosterone, but I am not sure. We have a free helpline with a patient advocate who might know more about this or he may at least be able to tell you more about monitoring to see if you are losing muscle mass and whether it would be good to add more resistance focus techniques to your routine. You can find our contact information here: pcri.org/helpline. I will also add it to our list of questions for future videos.
Problem too …is getting up 5 times to hit the bathroom in the nite really is tiring everyday…hope to try everything to sleep better…

This is terrible. I don't think I can do it. Im 70. I'm ok with radiation alone. May God help all of us.
What a great tie!
Most patients are of an age that heavy duty gym work is not really possible.
Here is a routine that is not very vigorous:

What do I do about the pain? I am crying right now because of the pain
I used 800 ibuprofen, felt like pissing molten glass.

You said weight training, but do traditional body weight exercises fit the bill? (Push ups, ab bicycles, etc)

Chemical Castration?
Can a sixty and above old male lift weights to build up body muscle.
Yes I’m doing it
Same for me up 5 times
How to exercise weight lift while risking ADT associated heart attack or stroke ?
Hello, our prostate cancer helpline may be able to help with your question. Please feel free to contact us here: pcri.org/helpline
The Doc suggests weight lifting-i have COPD mild so that`s out--Casodex=memory loss-brain feels like a scrambled egg
graham Paice: Resistance training can be anaerobic and, when done that way, shouldn't result in COPD symptoms.
@@lazurm i try a bit of Pilates-i got news for you it does affect the COPD-my PSA is rising so my Uro
is going in for Castration in 2 months time
Weight lifting doesn’t require you to breathe hard.
Hormone therapy is brutal. Extremely tired, brain fog, bone pain. I stopped after one treatment.
MODAFINIL for physical and mental support. IMHO
Caffeine can mess up your urinary sytem.

I am currently swimming 3500 miters twice a week. Is this adequate to impact the the onset of fatigue from ADT?

You would think your doctor would try to wstch and help you. Just give you a hormon shot and then walk away. At 75 and a pacemaker I wish I was dead.
😍😍😍😍😍
Boiling urine during radiotherapy.

If you are tired, you can't do much exercise silly
